I own a 1999 Dodge ram. As I understand, you have received tens of thousands of complaints regarding the dash plastic failure. As I read the posts, I see that an overwhelming majority of these vehicles (Dodge ram) all have the same problem. The entire plastic dash splinters into shards, regardless of time or care and upkeep. So has mine. I would like to emphatically add my name to the growing list of disgusted owners. I am more than concerned about the shards of plastic around the airbag. What will happen to my passenger(s) if the air bag deploys? I work as a firefighter, and have seen first-hand the results of the violent air bag deployment. I can't imagine the extent of the additional injuries if sharp pieces of plastic are added to the blast of the airbag. This is not merely an issue of aesthetics or poor craftsmanship. It is a monumental safety issue. Please help. Sent respectfully.

On 3/19/99 I was involved in a head-on collision of significant impact and neither the driver's or passenger's airbag deployed. The accident occurred in amarillo texas and a police report # 9922093 was filed. A state farm insurance claim # 43r231753 has been initiated, and the truck is being estimated at moss body shop in amarillo texas. Chrysler was contacted and has inspected the truck and denied any and all product failure/defect. More information can be provided upon request. Thank you for any assistance you may be able to provide.
No deployment of air bags during head on collision resulting in injuries. (attorney for consumer) nlm.
No deployment of both frontal air bags during frontal collision with severe damages, injuries due to failure.
While driving at 35 mph steering went out, causing consumer to run into a tree. Also, when applying the brakes, they were hard and didn't stop the vehicle. In addition, engine sopped/ no deployment of driver's air bag upon impact.
Consumer was sitting further than 12 inches from the driver's airbag when it deployed, causing severe burns, burning through layers of skin on his left arm and wrist.

Vehicle was taken the dealer because the horn operated intermittently. Dealership/mechanic informed the consumer that driver's air bag must be replaced to fix the horn. Horn has been difficult to operate since consumer purchased vehicle. Horn has to be depressed on the right spot to work. Vehicle has 55,000 miles when it was brought to dealership for its repair. Chrysler offered to split (50/50) the cost with the repair on horn and airbag assembly. Consumer felt at that time and given that they had extended warranty on their vehicle the situation should be corrected. Vehicle now has approximately 78,000 miles and consumer said that Chrysler has refused to address the matter.
Consumer states had front end collision at 30mph and neither air bag deployed, causing injuries. Please provide any additional information. Ts.
