Side/window Air Bag Problems of Dodge Ram 2500

"takata recall" I am contacting you regarding the issue of the airbags being dangerous in my 2005 Dodge ram pickup. I have recently been notified that the drivers side airbag is available ( which I will get replaced) but there is " no remedy" for the passenger side airbag. I have also been told by my local dealer that it is not a "Dodge issue" regarding a replacement vehicle until a "remedy" can be found! this is where I disagree! if I am correct, Dodge bought the item from takata to place in their vehicles. If the part has a recall placed on it then is a "Dodge problem"? and shouldn't the manufacturer be responsible for furnishing a replacement vehicle until the unsafe part has been replaced? this vehicle is my everyday driver /commuter to and from work and transporting my family to sports functions and anything in between! I find it unexceptable that Dodge has not taken ownership in helping people in my situation since the main problem is the fact that a vehicle they sell doesn't have a remedy fix for the indefinite future ( per the dealer)! Dodge needs to do one of two things, either furnish a replacement vehicle or replace my vehicle entirely with an acceptable replacement.

Takata recall. I am writing to relate my experiences in attempting to have the safety recall service work, regarding the airbag recalls, performed on my vehicle. The safety recalls are referred to as p78 (driver side airbag) and r25 (passenger side airbag). Over the last three months I have tried on multiple occurrences, to arrange this service recall work via dealerships directly and with the fca us recall assistance center - during which both the fca recall assistance center and the dealerships have expressed that they have no idea on either part availability eta or when the service recall work could be performed. Initially I attempted personally calling dealerships, but was unsuccessful in securing an appointment due to dealerships either not responding or dealerships having no idea on part availability or when recall service could be made. I then attempted calling the fca (fiat Chrysler automobiles) recall assistance center on separate occasions. With an fca rep, myself and a dealership all on the same call, the dealership confirmed parts and appointment. After appointment the p78 recall fix had not been done - marked no parts no eta. I called the fca recall assistance again, and after almost an hour of myself and the fca rep together calling dealerships, all the dealerships again expressed they had no idea on when the parts would be available and no idea when the service recall could be performed. I apologize if this is the incorrect forum (website suggested by fca) to relate these fca and dealership experiences. I appreciate this is a huge recall affecting millions of vehicle and vehicle owners. I thought it maybe worthwhile to relate my experiences of both the fca and the dealerships, repeatedly conveying they have no idea on parts eta and no idea as to when the service recall work could be done. I was driving home when I ran into some bumpy roads and I looked at my passenger side airbag control module in the dash and it was gone. The whole inner dash was broke loose and plastic parts were falling onto the floorboard. I've e-mailed Dodge and haven't received anything back from them yet. The dealership says it could be from $1000 to $7000 to fix. It had a few cracks in it before but now it seams to be just falling to pieces. I believe this could cause my airbags to deploy at any minute and this is a safety issue. In an accident how could you tell if the airbag deployed before or after the incident? could the airbag cause an accident? Dodge says it's out of warranty and I will have to fix it myself. I think with all the dash issues, Dodge should at least bare some of the responsibility. They won't even tell me if my truck is safe to drive? so it sets in back yard.

Tl- the contact owns a 2003 Dodge Ram 2500. The contact stated that while driving at 60 mph there was a rattling noise emitting from the passengers side air bag compartment of the vehicle. The contact stated that the rattling noise starting as squeaking, then converted to rattling as time went on. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 15v312000 (air bags) however, the part to do the repair was not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 140,000. Wh.

Five months ago I received notice my 2003 Dodge 2500 pickup was subject of national safety recall involving takata passenger side airbag being dangerous. Today, 10/27/2015 my local dealer reports parts are still not available. I called vehicle safety hotline 888-327-4236 for direction who advises to call Chrysler at 800-992-1997. Chrysler advises parts still not available, eta Dec 2015 or Jan 2016 and if I am uneasy about driving it, contact local dealer to get the air bag disabled. 10/27/2015 I called local dealer who refuses to disable air bag because it is against federal law. What shall I do next?.

Tl-the contact owns a 1995 Dodge Ram 2500. The contact stated that he started the vehicle and had shifted the gear into reverse and the driver side air bag had inadvertently deployed without warning. The contact had not sustained any injuries and a police report was filed. The vehicle had not been taken to the dealer for a diagnosis and the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer had informed the contact that they were unable to assist him,even though, the failure was a safety concern. The approximate failure mileage was 418,000. Gb.

I exited a department store;got into my vehicle,put my key in the ignition ,and when I turned the key to the on position my drivers side air bag deployed. I received numerous abrasions to my chin and neck,broken nose,black eye,and a head concusion.

Dodge is taking to long to repair the p81 recall for driver side air bag it has been 5 mouths and still no parts.

My 2008 Dodge Ram 2500 was involved in a head on collision in which neither the driver nor the passenger side airbag deployed. Speed of impact was aprox. 50-55 mph.

I was parked in a field and both driver side and passenger side air bag deployed. The pickup engine was running, the vehicle not moving at the time of deployment. I am the primary driver of this pickup and it has not been involved in any type of accidents.

I own a 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 pick-up. Sitting at a stop light and the dashboard popped and cracked right in front of me. I know this doesn't sound like a safety recall issue but if you look at it this way it does. The vehicle is equipped with a passenger side airbag. When the dashboard cracks and falls apart it leaves jagged edges which may be sent into the passengers face in the event of a front end collision with airbag deployment.

My 2002 Dodge Ram 2500 quad truck dash board started to crack about three years ago. When I checked with my dealer I was told that it would not be covered by warranty. Shortly later I was walking in a walmart parking lot and notice a 2001 Dodge ram 1500 which had a dash board cracked worse than mine. I then made a trip to many used car lots--I found that seven (7) out of ten (10) 2001+ Dodge ram pickups I checked had cracked dashes. I contact Dodge with my complaint and what I had observed in other Dodge pick ups and asked about any recall for the problem. I was sent the typical form letter that said sorry not under warranty nor recall. Now where cracks joined chunks of the dash have fell in leaving gaping holes with jagged edges. I have never had an accident in my truck and god forbid if I should--can just see all the jagged parts of the dash flying and with the force of the airbags just what injures would be received. In fact I have cut the passenger side air bag off for fear of additional injury to my wife in an event of an accident. Also mine is not an isolated event--one could spend countless hours reading of the same complaint on the web. But to date Dodge has done nothing. I have seen where some dealers have covered half the labor cost--you can rest assured that was from the dealer and not Dodge just to maintain good customer relations! this is a safety hazard in that sever injuries could be received from the deployment of the air bags.

While traveling at about 55 mph another car was coming head-on and they had a front end collision. Upon impact, driver's side airbag didn't deploy, passenger's side has an on and off switch, which could have been turned off. Some injuries were sustained. Consumer has yet to contact dealer. Please provide any further information.

While driving on a county road oncoming school bus lost control and hit consumer head-on. Pushed consumer into a 15 foot embankment. Upon impact, driver's side airbag didn't deploy. Didn't contact dealer or manufacturer.
