I pulled off of the freeway and coasted into the mall parking lot where I heard a loud clunk. Tried to stop the truck with the brakes and they went to the floor. Coasting to a full stop moments later I placed the vehicle in park. Brake fluid was all over the front left tire. Called the tow truck. As he hooked the truck up he reached down and picked up my calaper from behind the front left wheel. Towed the truck to Dodge dealership. Everyone said they had never heard much less seen a calaper fall right off the brake like that. I'm lucky that my 1, 2 and 3 year old are ok. If that had fallin off completely while on the free-way in rush hour traffic it would have not been good for anyone involved.

When I adjusted the steering wheel to a different position an apparent electrical failure shut down the engine and the power steering and power brakes rendering the truck almost uncontrollable at that speed. This catastrophic failure was replicated at different speeds and while startionary. Apparently any movement of the steering wheel will shut off complete power to the engine and cause a total loss of power to the vehicle.

The contact owns a 1998 Dodge Ram 2500. While the contact was driving approximately 35 mph, the abs warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel and remained illuminated until the engine was turned off. Tl the contact owns a 2007 Dodge Ram 2500. While driving 55 mph, the steering wheel became difficult to steer. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The contact turned on the emergency lights and coasted the vehicle over to the side of the road. The contact depressed the brake pedal, but it failed to stop the vehicle. The contact shifted into first gear and was able to stop the vehicle. An independent mechanic arrived at the scene and diagnosed that the water pump failed. The mechanic also stated that the bearing caused the serpentine belt to detach. The serpentine belt needed to be replaced. The independent mechanic replaced the water pump and the serpentine belt. The contact took the defective water pump to albany Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram (located at 2315 santiam hwy se, albany, or 97322, (541) 967-9105). The contact was informed that the water pump was defective and the design was different. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 25,426.

On a road trip I was driving on a highway at 65 mph and I hit a small light decal that delineates the lines on the road and my truck began to shake violently and so severely that I nearly lost control. Braking did not stop the shaking, not accelerating until it slowed to about 35 mph did stop the shaking. I pulled over immediately because I was terrified that it would happen again. Since I was in the middle of nowhere I decided that I would drive again but at a slower pace. This time I drove at 55 mph and when it hit a tiny bump again it began to shake horribly again. And once again I was stressed beyond belief that I was barely able to control this truck. This continues to happen at high speeds and if there is any ruffness on the road. Please recall these trucks and fix them. I paid alot of money for a truck that I thought would be good quality and now I am stuck with a piece of junk that I cannot drive faster than 35 mph for fear that I will kill myself or someone else. And I refuse to sell this lemon to some other poor soul.

The contact owns a 2004 Dodge Ram 2500. The contact stated when traveling at speeds of at least 50 mph and traveling over a bump or any uneven road surface, the vehicle would start to vibrate violently. If the brakes were applied, the failure would cease. On one occasion, the brakes would not engage while the failure was occurring. The vehicle was taken to a local repair shop for repairs. The manufacturer was notified and an appointment was made for next week. The failure and current mileages were approximately 74,000.
I was involved in an mvc the middle of February, and my abs did not work. All I could hear was the tires sliding. Could not hear the sound of or the feeling of the abs working. I also tried to see if they worked when we had the last snow. The same thing happened. My wheels locked up and I just slidded. My vehicle is an 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4. It is in the shop now for the repairs from the accident. I told keene Dodge in jarrettsville I wanted the abs checked, and told them the same thing I told you.

Truck is not driven very often. I noticed the power adjustable break pedals moves side to side early. But do to lack of driving I was never able to physically bring it to a dealer until just recently. I had it there for the air bag recall. And remembered to ask them to look at the pedal. They said it was definitely bad and a safety issue. They never did this type of repair. They were not sure how to do it and I think that it should be fixed from a design fault. I see that this is somewhat common from my research. Also I see that Dodge has a repair kit out for this from 2009. If I hit break pedal it wants to swing to the left causing my foot to slip off and hit he accelerator.
I was driving a Dodge sprinter, and I stopped on a light to wait for a green to came, and when I stared moving, and all of the sudden I had to make stop, because a car on front of me, stopped, I pushed a brakes a few times, and it didn't work, and after I made an accident, someone tried a car, and it did work! I found this material on the web site, that I will give you a link to it. . Read more...
Violent shake in front end after going over bridge tires bouncing no control had to slow down to 25 mph to stop it changed shocks stopped problem for a few months but kept coming back its called the"death wobble".
While driving, the power steering died making it nearly impossible to turn. This is a complete failure of the power steering, previous occurrences of brief difficult steering happened two or three times. Also braking was affected ,decreasing stopping ability. I was barely able to stop and turn the truck to avoid crashing into a building.
My 2007 2500 4x4 diesel 6. 7 has been a headache since the beginning . It has stalled several times the check engine light comes on for a short while then goes off . But the other day I was in a tight situation, when I stepped on the accelerator hard , a car pulled in front of me I immoderately stepped on the break , and northing was there , it wet all the way down to the floor then after a second or two it started jumping as the anti lock brakes started to work, this was a close one I couldn't of slide my wallet between my truck and the car that pulled out in front of me . This truck also has the worse ride on concrete freeway paving . It bounces in a un stable, most irritating way ,on asphalt freeway it is very smooth, until you hit a bump and it shimmy's in a un safe felling like it could loose control, I am happy with the power of the motor when its got a full load going up hill. With that exception this is the worst over priced truck I've ever owned , ill never buy Dodge again.
The steering in this vehicle is terrible when braking, the dashboard is craked and broken very bad in several places Dodge wants to do nothing about these problems. When I apply the brakes the vehicle pulls very hard, this is not an allignment I have had that done changed the rotors the whole 9 yards still the same problem. The dash started out as a little crack now it is broken in several places. This is ridiculous. I will never purchase another Dodge they dont stand behind there vehicles.

The brakes go to the floor when at a stop sign. I also have hit the brakes coming to a stop, then they go right to the floor. I drive with my left foot on the emergency brake. I have had it to three dealers, they say its the way it is. Stop then take you foot off the brake, it should stay stopped it sounds like the brake complaints on the Ford f-150 pickup that is investigating by the government. Thanks roger.
2004 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup. (nar) windshield wiper fluid odor, and electrical brakes installed.
When applying brakes vehicle pulls sharply to the left. Was in 6 times for repair. They couldn't fix it and expected me to pay for their experiments to try to fix it. The Chrysler rep tried to get out of paying under warranty. Finally fixed. Have driven truck about 1200 miles now and starting to pull again! brakes lock-up in a stern attempt to stop. Anti-lock brakes are a joke.
Brake pedal would go to the floor causing extended stopping distance. Dealer has been notified. Ph.
Consumer states, while driving over 50mph and applying the brakes vehicle is vibrating heavily and it will be hard for the consumer to control the vehicle. Dealer has been notified. Please provide further information. . Ts.
When car is cold and just started to drive ,and brakes used ,the front brake does not apply and vehicle is slow to stop when abs is disabled all brakes operate normal. I have hit 3 cars because brake did not work. This is a euro brake system installed on vehicles with frt disc and rear drum Dodge would not fix after several instances reported to them I have been driving since new and many years with abs disconnected and no accidents since I disconnected the control unit.
Had a flat tire and could not get the rims off the wheel hub--went to dealer and he said to get under vehical and hit rims with a sledge hammer---this has been ongoing since 2001--right now going thru this problem again after dealer said that it was fixed.
Vehicle pulls to the right when braking. Had it in to dealer to many times to count. No luck with anything they've done. Was surprised to see how many other "victims" have the same problem. Hope there's a permanent fix. It will probably take a death or two to get some one off their butt and fix this.
Steering and braking malfunctions.

When driving the truck and you go to brake, the truck pulls to the left. We have own this vehicle from day 1. New calibers was installed when it first started and that has not fixed the issue. We have learnt to deal with this issue, even though it could be dangerous when coming to a stop. Is there a problem. For after reading the complaints this has been an issue for a while on some of these trucks. What is the fix.
Vehicle swerves excessively to the right under moderate braking, front wheel locks, and front brakes squeel after moderate use. Vehicle braking is unpredictable when trailer towing despite an electric trailer brake control.
When applying brakes vehicle pullled to the right, and the driver lost control of vehicle several times. The dealer has attempted to repair this problem eight times, but could not fix the problem.
