The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Ram 3500. The exhaust manifold was cracking and caused the gasket to fail. Exhaust fumes entered the vehicle, which allowed for unhealthy driving conditions. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and they stated that the exhaust manifold overheats and shrinks, which causes the exhaust to crack. They further stated that it was not a manufacturer defect and was supposed to operate in that manner. The dealer refused to make any repairs. The failure mileage was 220,000.

The contact owns a 2005 Dodge Ram 3500. During an inspection of the vehicle the contact discovered that the exhaust manifold was cracked. The failure mileage was 156,850. . Spoke with consumer 10/16/07 updated correct information . Need to resend form. Left message 11/01/07.
Vehicle was pulling a trailer at 40 mph, in the process,the rear exhaust manifold bolts came out, allowing a lot of heat to escape through the joint attachment. The heat set the insulation wall on fire. The fire melted the hydraulic line to the clutch.
