Two problems related to clutch pedal/linkage have been reported for the 1998 Ford Contour. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Clutch hydraulic cable has burst three times within 23000 miles.
3rd gear syncronizer failed. Transmission is difficult to shift into 3rd gear. Grinding sound present when shifing into 3rd, even with the clutch pedal pushed all the way in.
