Fuel Hoses Lines/piping And Fittings Problems of Ford Contour

1998 Ford Contour. Consumer writes in regards to vehicle brake line corrosion. The consumer stated the brakes the failed. The repair shop, stated there was no brake fluid in the reservoir. The consumer also stated the gas line leading to the tank had to be replaced, due to corrosion.

Car acceleration was sluggish when brake was applied,a week later engine would kill when driving. Changed air filter,oil,and fuel line was cleared. A month later same thing is happening. Mechanic says may need new fuel pump,but not sure that will correct problem.

Constant problems with the vehicle. Alternator, fuel tank, gear shift indicator, computer sensor's (variable cam timing over retarded), automatic shift labored and fails, cooling fan motor, etc. This vehicle is in some form of repair shop on a regular basis. Have I driven a Ford lately? yes, and sorry I chose to do so.

Vehicle leaking fuel from fuel tank pipe grommet. Took the car to other repair facility other than dealer, this repair facility informed me of the recall 00v350000. I then took the car to the Ford dealership where I had bought the vehicle new. They informed me that this recall was not issued for my car. Consumer states while driving there is a gas smell coming inside the vehicle. Consumer feels its related to the recall for the fuel vent hose. Dealer has been contacted. Nlm.

Dash curling back. Strap for fuel tank rusted, going to break, rust on brake line, rust under both back doors and spreading to underneath car, radio speakers out, car hesitates while accelerating, trunk leaks defroster not working properly because of dash. Was not aware of a recall for dash. Should be recall for corrosion problem as it is unsafe to drive. I have no other means of transportation so I take a huge chance everytime I drive which is 3 or 4 times a week to work. . Fuel pump had to be replaced. Check engine light comes on for no reason. Piece of junk and I can't afford to buy another car. Ford should be ashamed of themselves. They should have to fix these cars or replace them. The mechanic told me the strap for fuel tank is going to break. The car only has 61,000 miles on it. What a joke!.

While driving at about 5mph and making a right turn right front wheel came off due to loose lugs: nuts. Dealer has seen vehicle. Consumer states the vehicle has experienced problems with the following: fuel filter, spark plugs, transmission, cv boot, brakes, air filter, wire, rotors need turning, timing gear, timing belt, and vehicle will not start.

This complaint is to replace previous complaint #10023062. I am sorry for the inconvenience, I feel that I may have left out pertinent information. My vehicle was leaking fuel from the fuel tank pipe grommet. I took my vehicle to another auto repair service rather than the dealer where I had bought it. This auto repair service informed me of recall 00v350000. I then took the vehicle to the dealer where I bought the vehicle from. I had told them about the recall that I had learned about. They informed me that this recall was not for my particular vehicle. I understand that the dealership does not have my particular vehicle on recall for this problem. However, it seems a big coincidence that some other 2000 Ford Contour vehicles do and I have the same problem, yet my vehicle is not on the recall list. Maybe there are more that do need to be recalled? I don't feel that I should have to pay for the repair when it may be a manufacturing problem. They have ordered the part for the car to repair it and we will pay the bill for repair. But I would like to have this investigated and maybe we can be reimbursed for the repair if it is found that my vehicle should have been on the recall list. I trust the dealer and do not wish for them to be reprimanded for this. I just want this to be investigated so others like myself to go through the wondering and suspicion. While driving driver's seatback broke, causing the seat to fall back, and the driver lost control of vehicle. Also engine cut off system malfunctioned, engine did not shut off at the time of the crash. Please provide further information.
