While driving on highway at 55 mph car looses power, goes into limp home mode, orange wrench warning indicator appears on dash panel. Very dangerous in high traffic areas where there is room or time to pull to side of road. Pull off road, turned off engine, and then restarted and ran fine. Seems to happen unexpectedly every 3 to 4 months. No engine malfunction codes can be found on onboard diagnostic system.

Vehicle was leaking antifreeze and taken to good year. The part was not made and is not being made by any factory or by Ford. Ford is aware of the problem. The service manager in rock hill,SC said there was 20 others waiting and they needed paperwork for proof and a hundred deposit for a part that isn't even made. Good year made a temporary fix. If the fix breaks the antifreeze will leak out causing the motor to seize up.
In the last two I been having a wrench coming up on the screen and truck loses power and the speed drops down to 5 miles an hour. While the truck is running in idle, it is vibrating. When I stop it and restart it goes away. It happen three times in the last two weeks. After the second time the dealer reprogramed the computer last Friday. Thursday five days later it came back when I was doing 50 miles an hour. I called the dealer and he said he will change the throttle sensor out tomorrow . The times it happen I was on country road with no traffic, if I would have on the interstate no telling what would have happen with cars behind me doing 70 miles an hour.

Driving on a city street the truck started shaking and loss all acceleration, it showed a wrench on the dash screen, coasted to a safe place and turned truck off. It restarted fine. Approx 30 mins later on the highway it did the same thing, started shaking, no acceleration and the wrench showed up. Again coasted to a safe spot and restarted.
I was crushing at 55 mph and I heard a loud pop that was followed by a continuous popping obviously from lost compression. I took to a local Ford dealer and they stated that this is a common problem for this type of motor to "blow spark plug". This happened without warning and is now a hardship for me.
Spark plug blew out of engine block. I was going in reverse when this happened.

While in motion traveling down highway I heard a bang and the engine began to knock and a sound of air was coming from engine and lost horse-power. I found the spark plug blew out of the #3 cylinder. I had to repair, and now the plug has dropped down, may have to spend up to $3,000 to repair/replace aluminum heads.

As the driver approached an intersection the brake pedal locked up and the vehicle could not slow to stop causing an accident as the vehicle proceeded through the intersection on a red light. The same issue happened approximately two months before and was supposedly repaired by the dealer. However the same problem happened again. (this complaint is similar to complaint number 10918568 and that complaint improperly noted that there was no police report - the report is attached with this complaint. Also, this complaint supplements the prior information by provided the service ticket. The ticket shows a fuel pump relay fuse melted.

Spark plugs ejected from my van.
Van had trouble starting so took it to dealer, thinking it might be plug/injector-related. Shop contact indicated leak in fuel rail, dumping gas onto engine potentially resulting something that could ignite and explode. The 2007 series 150/250/350 with the large 5. 4 (?)l v-8 already has a recall for this exact issue. Thought it would be wise to point out same problem with my with the 4. 6l v-8. Van has ~43k miles.
Sparg plug blown out of passenger side cylinder #4, vehicle was stationary in idle.

I do not have the exact dates as to when the first incident took place. I was entering the e way merging into traffic when I tried to accelerate the vehicles lost power. I was fortunate not to be hit in the back by traffic I had to steer quickly to the side of the road. I have taken this vehicle and two others we own in on multiple occasions for this problem. The different fixes they have tried have not worked and yet I continue to be charged for these fixes. I feel if it is a known problem Ford should be taking care of the problem not charging me to try and figure it out. After reading online that I am not the only one having these problems as I have been told I felt it is important to file a complaint before someone is killed.

Spark plugs are breaking during replacement. Bad spark plug design, spark plugs cause running issues, if they break- and fall into the cylinder- then it becomes an even more expensive repair. A definite flaw on Ford's part.
Started shaking and sputtering in reverse at low rpm. Two transmission shops said it was the reverse band in transmission and needed rebuild. Had trans rebuilt (at cost of 2390. 00). After rebuild, mechanic was driving and it still had problem. After researching, he thinks it is the cam phasers causing problem. He had replaced my plugs before transmission work to rule that out (all 8 of the plugs broke while taking them out, he had never seen all break on a f150 before). This engine/transmission is a bad design all around and Ford needs to step up, admit it and fix and or reimburse customers for repairs. You can spend thousands chasing problems in this power train! even though the transmission rebuild did not fix the initial problem, the rear band was worn, and the plate in the transmission had a small dent and hair line cracks, so it was going to fail eventually! the transmission shop said this is common in these. I want something done!.

My 2007 Ford f150 has a major problem, when coming to a stop at a stop sign or red light, the engine surges forward the rpm gage will fall to 400 rpm and without warning it surges to 1000 to 1200 rpm making it hard to control the truck, I'm very disppointed with Ford, I am a repeat Ford customer, but with this problem with my f150 it has only 35000 miles Ford will loose me as a customer for sure .
The contact owns a 2004 Ford E-150. The contact stated that a private mechanic attempted to remove the spark plugs but they were fused to the engine. The vehicle was eventually repaired. The manufacturer was contacted about the failure. The failure mileage was 118,000. The VIN was unavailable.
As reported to dealer : customer states when accelerating in low gear and letting off the accelerator it will continue to maintain the rpm until you hit hard on the brakes. My added comments is that 1800 rpm when normal highway speed is over 60 mph. In stop and go traffic the driver must maintain brake with left foot and gas with right foot or you will rear end the car in front of you. Ps dealer performed test and stated at this time compared to like units and they do the same thing. I test drove a new truck with same engine and trans. As mine and it did not do the same thing.
Burnt cam from lack of oiling. Dealer unable to repair, said new engine only option. Ford would not pay for new engine. Warranty stated drivetrain warranty good for 60,000 miles or five years.
While trying to pass another vehicle during wet weather , my vehicle would loose engine power at a critical moment during passing. Ford dealer could find no problem. Loss of power happened more than one time while passing. After about one year of service I traded vehicle off. . . . Not liking the passing performance during wet weather. Then found out that this is a problem with many f150 ecoboost engines. I believe this is a serious issue. Thanks, wl.

The contact owns a 1996 Ford E-150. Whenever the contact starts the engine and depresses the accelerator pedal, the engine becomes stuck at a high rpm and will not return to the idle position. The failure causes the vehicle to either surge forward or backwards depending on what gear it is in at the time. The engine has to be turned off in order to restore the vehicle to a proper speed. In addition, the brakes do not hold or stop the vehicle when they are engaged. The first time this failure occurred, the vehicle crashed into a tree at 10 mph. There were no injuries; however, the rear window was damaged. Through research, the contact found numerous issues with this defect on the same make and model vehicles. The vehicle was taken to a repair shop twice. During the first visit, the mechanic cleaned out the engine, engine throttle, and cables. The failure was corrected for two months before it recurred again. During the second visit, the vehicle was towed to the shop and the mechanic checked to make sure that everything was lubricated properly. The shop did not guarantee that the failure would not recur. The contact believes that a recall should be issued. The failure mileage was 150,000 and current mileage was 152,000.

My 5. 4 liter has terrible throttle response at low speeds. The motor has a long lag time, from the time you press the gas pedal until the motor revs and the truck takes off. I have been in a couple of close calls or near misses due to this. If in an emergency operation you need to step on the gas and get out of the way of another vehicle, it has slow throttle response and is dangerous. The dealer seems to have no real fix.
After consumer turned vehicle off, and took the keys out of the ignition, engine continues to run and the heat blower stays on. The dealership is refusing to fix problem. Please provide more details. Ph.
