2 Engine problem of the 2002 Ford E-150

Failure Date: 06/28/2010

I own a 2002 Ford e150 van with a 5. 4 triton engine. The van has 98000 miles, and still has the original sparkplugs in it (mainly due to the fact that Ford doesn't recommend a change until 90k). While driving at approximately 20 mph, I heard a "pop", and suddenly the van begin to drive sluggish and very loud. I was able to return home, and discovered that the #3 sparkplug had ejected from the head, damaging the coil. At this point, it appears that a Ford dealership may need to repair the damage at a cost of $500. 00 . I can only imagine how this could have been different if this would have been freeway driving or I were a considerable way from home. I will never purchase a Ford product again because of this. Ford needs to make this right.

3 Engine problem of the 2000 Ford E-150

Failure Date: 08/14/2008

The contact owns a 2000 Ford E-150. At 80,000 miles, a tune-up was performed on the vehicle and all of the spark plugs were replaced. Approximately 10,000 miles later, the vehicle was taken to the dealer and they replaced the coil and the number six spark plug again. At 140,000 miles, the number six spark plug ejected from the head and had to be replaced a third time. On a separate occasion, when the vehicle was started, the number six spark plug ejected again and damaged the head, which rests on top of the cylinder of the engine block. The vehicle was towed. The mechanic stated that the number six spark plug ejects from time to time. Approximately 700 miles later, the number seven spark plug ejected. The dealer had the insert placed in the head and replaced the number 7 spark plug and the coil. The current mileage was 145,500 and failure mileage was 144,000.

8 Engine problem of the 1999 Ford E-150

The spark plug blew out on my Ford e150. This is a ridiculously common problem with Ford trucks/vans/ suvs- why is Ford allowed to get away with this? just google "Ford spar" and instantly "Ford spark plug blowout" pops up- there are hundreds of webpages about this, yet Ford continues to escape liability for their poor design. Can't someone make these people @ Ford do the right thing and fix it?.
