I was on 222 in kutztown PA it was rain the vechile in front of slammed on his brakes I in turn did the samething except their was no abs the brake pedal went all the way to the floor I had enough distance between me and the other the other carme to a stop the brakes were very spongy. The vechile was towed to a dealership. The dealership replaced the brake booster, the abs booster, rear brake pads and roaters. The brake pads and roators were new April 2017 and inspected in may 2018 they were fine. Only 13000 miles were put on the car since 2017. On the way home today the brakes went out again.
Tl- the contact owns a 2012 Ford Edge. The contact stated that one side of the brake caliber emits more pressure than the other causing the brake pads and brake routers to wear over time. The contact had previously replaced these same parts twice before. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic where they have been diagnosed and repaired prior to this more recent issue. The manufacturer had not been notified of the failure. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000. Jo.
From June 2018 to June 2019 I have invested over $4000 in primarily the braking sytem of my car. I continue to have issues when after filling my gas tank the car hesitates in starting. I have replaced everything that has to do with the breaking system from brake pads to hcu system to the abs system. Even the new parts have had to be replaced because they were faulty.
Brakes made a hissing sound when pressed and brake pedal went to the floor when pressed. When backing up there were hardly any brakes available to stop. Took it into a mechanic and they had to replace the power brake booster. This is not simply replacing the brake pads but this is a mechanical issue on a vehicle that is only 4 years old. Huge safety issue.
When I press brake pedal is hard and the vehicle dont want stop and when I try to press pedal twice still didn't stop corectly , brake rotor and pads still like 80%.
Tl-the contact owns a 2012 Ford Edge. The contact stated while driving in reverse, the brake pedal was applied, but the vehicle hesitated to stop and the pedal went down to the floor. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The mechanic replaced all four brake pads, and machined the rotors. The failure recurred. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage 60,000. Mf.
I was driving down the road and was coming to a stop sign by our local elementary school. The brakes felt like they were not working and that I was not going to stop! the only way I could get it to stop was to push very hard. Thank the good lord that I didn't have to stop on a dime for a child walking across the school! the brakes are still that way today and it is not safe at all to drive. We took it to our local shop to verify that the brakes pads were ok, which they were. We have an appointment for our local Ford shop. After reviewing many complaints, it sounds as though this is a known problem, (brake booster) and Ford needs to have a recall on this. We have already spend $75 having the shop look at the brake pads, and now it will probably cost us another $300-$400, which is not right for a vehicle that has less than 45,000 miles on it and is a 2012. Ntsa needs to contact Ford and make them recall this, as it sounds like there are so many out there with the same problem. This is a huge safety issue and someone can be killed over this! Ford needs to be held accountable over this! read more at. . . Read more...
