I was driving to work through a busy town I was preparing to stop at a stoplight and my brakes went to the floor there weren't any signs of brake issues prior so I assumed the brakes needed replacing so when I got off work I went and bought brakes my husband was gonna put them on when he checked he said the brakes were fine that the fluid could be leaking the fluid level was fine and no leaks were found he still looked for one just in case so next he said it could be master cylinder and reservoir I was looking online at this point and seen all the same issues others were having as well with this SUV I told him there wasn't any need to spend more money because the way it sounded was that its not gonna fix the issue any how because Ford itself can't figure out why brakes are going to the floor themselves so I'm left with a unsafe vehicle to drive with a payoff of 10000 dollars what do I do? I'm so tired of getting screwed that I'm abt to hire an attorney and find out why am I left with this problem to face and why others are having to suffer as well if there's an ongoing lawsuit near washington nc let me know if not there's soon to be one if others need to join as well.
Brake pedal went to floor. Happened in an instant. No loss of brake fluid, no external to atmosphere fluid leak. Taken to Ford dealership. Dealer could not find issue, just started replacing parts. At Ford dealer over one month and one week. Cost to repair over $900. 00. Dealer could not explain what went wrong. I had to push the issue hard with the svc. Manager. Finally after 2nd "special brake flush" issue was corrected! now for the smoking gun. . Daughter has 2019 Honda odyssey van. Recently gets recall for brake issue. Honda must bleed rear brakes. Looked up recall. Issue with "coating on rear internal disc brake parts creates air bubbles inside system causing loss of brake pedal". Look up who supplies brakes to Ford and Honda (& many others). . . . Company called akebono supplies to most of n. A. ! this is another "takata" issue brewing! I suspect Ford is covering up any knowledge of this loss of brake issue. And, this loss of brake issue will occur on thousands if not millions of other vehicles, its just a matter of time!.
I have had trouble with brake system since I've purchased the vehicle. Replaced brake pads several times. Last week, noticed pushing brake pedal to the floor to stop, took in to the mechanic that I use-the entire master cylinder was blown out the back with brake fluid just pouring out. He replaced the master cylinder (from Ford parts store) and also front and back brakes. When I picked up my vehicle, its still not corrected. Brake pedal is still "loose" almost going to the floor as it was and now it has hissing noise and sponge pedal. I called the Ford dealership, states that is a brake booster issue. To call and check recall on this particular VIN #. I called Ford motor CO at 1-800-392-3673 and verified no recall on my specif VIN #, but many Ford Edge 2012 have been recalled for the brake booster. They referred me to contact the national highway traffic and safety administration to give this safety complaint. I';m very upset that this is a safety issue with my Ford Edge and nothing is being offered to me through Ford to get this issue fixed. This would be when vehicle is in motion obviously. . . .
