Camera System Problems of Ford Edge

While backing up, the camera will often reverse the view or flip upside down. Other times it will suddenly black out. All result a scary and unsafe situation. Especially when reversed and it looks clear on the wrong side!!.

Backup camera intermittently goes black and blank. It gives a warning that the camera is not available. Took it to the dealer when it first started happening in 2019, but they wanted over $1000 to fix it. There is a recall for the 2020 with this problem due to an electrical issue. Why is the 2014 not included?.

The contact owns a 2018 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while passengers were walking behind the vehicle, the back over prevention system failed to activate. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the audio unit needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to another local dealer bergstrom Ford Lincoln of the fox valley (525 s green bay rd, neenah, WI 54956, (800) 404-1138) but vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and informed of the failure. The contact was referred to NHTSA for assistance. The failure mileage was 11,000.
