This is for recall 25s89/ NHTSA 25v572. Took my car to the dealer and they confirmed and found c1001:01. They refused service and blamed a faulty wire harness. They stated fixed points which indicates tampering or previous repair which I am the original owner and have never had electrical work done on the vehicle. They are trying to charge me $1700 for a wire harness and refusing to do the safety recall.

My backup camera has the same issue as the recall for the 2021-2024 Ford Edge. Why is my year not included in the recall?.

The transmission/torque converter completely failed after being maintained while driving on the highway without any warning. The transmission began jerking and bucking, almost sending me into the oncoming lane while driving. Coupled with the lane departure avoidance system automatically turning my wheel, the vehicle became uncontrollable. Even though I removed my foot from the gas an tried braking, the transmission would not disengage for a few seconds causing me to almost lose control of the vehicle. Then the transmission just gave out and I was unable to pull off some where safe without issue. There were no warnings on the vehicle, no lights, nothing signaled an issue until after I was able to get the car to stop at the side of the road. The vehicle had to be towed due to not being able to drive at all. It has been inspected and I have been told the transmission just completely went out, possibly due to a leak in the linkage I was not aware of, and was not caught during my last inspection/ fluid change. Multiple items failed on the vehicle including the recently recalled back up camera/sensor issue that I was never advised about by the manufacturer.

Rear view camera was distorted and didn’t show a vehicle behind me when I backed out of parking spot and made contact with another vehicle.

Can't see behind me very well due to camera malfunction almost every time in reverse.

Manufacturer has failed or is unable to remedy this safety recall for my vehicle in a timely manner: Sep 08,2025 manufacturer recall number 25s89 NHTSA recall number 25v572 recall status recall incomplete, remedy not yet available.
My rear camera on my car is not working and a recall was issued in September under NHTSA recall number25v572. My car camera is completely broken and Ford has provided no alternative solutions, nor a timeline on when this can be addressed. As this has been a problem for over 6 months, I do not feel that this is a "reasonable time" for repair as designated by your agency. I have asked Ford for alternatives, which they refuse to provide.
Subject: complaint regarding Ford safety recall 25s28 – unresolved apim module issue vehicle information: year/model: 2021 Ford Edge recall: Ford safety recall 25s28 defect: rear-view camera and apim module software malfunction. Summary of issue: June 2025: attempted recall repair; dealer stated recall was on hold. August 2025: received another recall notice but delayed repair since no issues were present. November 2025: navigation system, carplay, and infotainment screen began shutting off. Dealer confirmed these functions are controlled by the apim module covered under recall 25s28. December 2025: vehicle at dealer for ~2 weeks. Dealer attempted software update, then said Ford corporate approved replacing the telecommunications chip on Dec 12. On Dec 16, dealer informed me Ford put the recall on hold again and instructed me to pick up the car without the fix. Current status: vehicle still has defective apim module affecting rear-view camera, bluetooth, gps, and infotainment system. Ford corporate states there is no timeline for resolution. Safety concern: rear-view camera may fail, and infotainment system shuts off while driving, impacting visibility and driver awareness. Requested action: please investigate Ford’s repeated delays and lack of remedy for recall 25s28. Ensure timely resolution and enforce compliance with recall obligations.

The backup camera stopped working consistently in June 2025. Safety recall has been issued for 2015 vehicles and newer, but not for 2013 and 2014 years. Ford dealer said the camera needs to be replaced for $740, but numerous online comments show other Ford owners with the same issue starting at the same time. I believe this is a software issue, and would like 2013 Ford Edge to be added to safety recall.

The backup camera rarely works. It either has a black screen, an upside-down image or the image has lines through it. This puts me, my passengers and pedestrians in danger while trying to reverse out of parking spaces. There is a recall for newer Ford Edges but not for a 2013 so Ford is aware of the issue. I also previously owned a different 2013 Ford Edge and it had the same problems.
Back up camera stopped working. Back up sensors either don’t work or will just beep when nothing is behind the car. Don’t have exact date it stopped working because it started working for 1 day and then stopped working again. It has been probably 8 or 9 months since it has worked.

The backup camera doesn't come on when backing up. You can't see persons or objects behind you that could cause injury or death. Vision is obstructed by the build of the SUV in the rear of the vehicle.

Reverse camera saying not available when car is put in reverse. There is an update for the 2021 backup camera. My VIN is apparently not on that even though it is a 2021 Edge.
My rearview camera images are upside down, and sometimes do not display when reversing, just as the recall they are having on the newer models right now.
I have a screen in my car that connects with my rear view camera that shows me where I'm going when backing up and alerts me when objects are near. My rear view camera is malfunctioning where the screen is black without an image of what's behind me and no notification of nearby objects when backing. This issue has not been reviewed by a mechanic or anyone else. However, this is a safety risk not only due to being unable to see low-lying objects on the ground or directly behind my vehicle when backing and then not notifying me of nearby objects to avoid a collision or running over a pedestrian, small child or animal. I am aware that I am able to turn around and back up while facing backwards, but I have paid for a vehicle that has a backup camera and would like to use it; this also does not negate the fact that low-lying objects and small beings would still be invisible to the eye in that manner. A message in yellow just popped up on my screen recently that reads "camera is unavailable. Please contact your dealership. " I have taken a picture of this dysfunction while also showing my car in reverse in the picture to show the problem. I recently saw a recall on what I believe were some Ford trucks that had this same issue. I simply would like to have this function restored for the safety of me and my children as well as the public.
This incident is related to the rear view camera and the sync/radio interface in my vehicle. The recent recall for Ford explorers in relation to the rear cameras are also present in the Ford Edge. In addition to these issues, when I am driving my rear view camera will turn on while driving. This has occurred on the freeway and has impacted how my car reacts to collision assists, lane keeping/departure functions. I have taken my car to Ford and they have neglected the issue and said there is nothing they can do. I have left voicemails to get my car looked at again and reported to Ford but seeing the recall headlines today about Ford suvs I wanted to report that this is also happening yo Ford Edges and has caused issues for me. I believe this to be a glitch in the sync software. This has been an ongoing issue but has most recently occurred to me yesterday. I have video of this behavior as well but included a photo - you can see the car is in drive and the rear view camera is active.
Vehicle backup camera having blurred image, no image, and camera not available. Similar issue as the recall on 2o20 Ford Edge recall NHTSA campaign number: 22v151 and Ford’s recall 22s14.
Flexplate rattle. TSB from the lawsuits for years 2015 to 2018 days they have to replace the long block. Meaning I’ll have to replace either my transmission or engine and I have already replaced the transmission once in this car. There needs to be a recall and it cover all 6f35 transmissions.
The backup camera has stopped working. Sometimes it appears fuzzy when the car is put into reverse, other times the screen is black and says I need to contact my local dealership. The screen can also stay that way after I place the vehicle back into drive for several minutes before it goes back to the accessory screen. This issue started out as just sometimes a problem and sometimes the camera would work fine. It is at the point now that it never works anymore. I also have had issues with the rear cross traffic sensors "detecting" things when the car is in reverse that aren't there. It can be very dangerous because you think something is behind the car that is not there and can cause the driver to slam on the brakes. This issue does not happen on a regular basis, just sometimes. The vehicle is available for inspection for all problems. None of the problems have been inspected by anyone professionally yet. A dealership has not confirmed the issues either.
Rear backup camera has malfunctioned and an error message appears. The screen goes black.
I received a recall letter from Ford motor company dated April 2022 for recall notice 22s14 / NHTSA recall 22v151. The risk is "a rear-view camera that intermittently displays a blank or distorted image can reduce the driver's view of what is behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash. " this recall is not in the Ford or NHTSA database for my vehicle yet I have experienced this problem. The remedy is a software update which the dealer has not been able to install. A new aipm module has been on backorder since November 19, 2021 when the previous owner experienced the same problem.
Had to have transmission replaced at 48,000 miles. I was driving down the road and all of a sudden it just shut off while driving. I was on a city street driving about 40 mph. I had to call the local police department to have them come park behind the car because multiple people almost hit me while stranded in the middle of the road. Oil pressure light came on for a single split second then went off. Right after the transmission gave out and engine shut off as a way to protect the motor. I was almost hit by several people. I started the car again and it idled fine. As soon as I shifted into drive it shut off again. This could have gotten me and my gf seriously injured. Rear cross traffic warning signals go off when nothing is around. It happens all the time and is super annoying.
A few years ago, I brought my Edge into a dealership in shawnee mission, KS (shawnee mission Ford) for the rearview camera malfunctioning. What occurs is, once I put the car in reverse, the camera will, sometimes come on, once I begin backing out, the camera will shut off and a message will appear. On some occasions, the camera will operate, but 9 times out of 10 it will always go black with a pop up message. I want my vehicle to be included in the recall if the backup camera is the issue please.
Rear backup camera can show distorted images or suddenly go dark when engine is running and put into reverse when backing up. Camera image is sporadic. It will sometimes flicker and go out or not engage at all showing either a black or blue screen and saying "rear camera not available". Happens w/o warning. Warmer weather effects it more often than in cold or when foot is applied to the brake. I purchased car brand new from Ford dealership and this started happening after warranty was up. Took to Ford dealership to diagnose cost estimate over $800 to fix. Took to local repair shop and was told it was electrical and needed a code that they couldn't access. There's a recall for 2020 Ford Edge vehicles on this matter as this should be grandfathered in in the recall. It does the same exact thing! I have video that shows much more how this happens.
When I purchased my 2014 Ford Edge sel from north central Ford, I informed the dealership that the backup camera consistently displayed the error message: “camera is unavailable, please contact your dealership. ” this occurred every time the vehicle was placed in reverse. Additionally, the sync display would become unresponsive, disabling access to the phone, climate control, radio, and other settings. The dealership refused to fix the issue and instead offered to replace the entire sync system with an upgrade costing around $800. This issue has persisted since purchase in January 2018. The Ford Edge has significant blind spots, and the backup camera is essential for safe reversing. I recently discovered that Ford issued a recall for similar issues, but my model is not included—even though it clearly suffers from the same defect. I request that the 2014 Ford Edge sel be included in the recall to address this safety-critical issue.
