36 Equipment problem of the 2017 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 03/16/2026

No incident has happened yet, my complaint it that there is a safety recall that can affect the rear brake lines on my vehicle, and if the fail it could cause an accident. This vehicle is 9 years old and there still is no solution available from the manufacturer!!! this certainly doesn't seem like a timely way to address a brake related safety recall.

The transmission keeps shuddering and jerking at low speeds. I have problems driving behind school buses or any slow moving vehicle. The vehicle has a problem when merging onto highways and loses acceleration power due to jerking. I have spoken to 3 separate Edge owners who all have the same problem. Some of us can't afford the repairs but these vehicles are still being sold with this known problem.

48 Equipment problem of the 2019 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 02/17/2026

Vehicle has 78000 miles on it and has started to stutter/struggle to find gears between what I believe to be 3rd and 5th gear. It generally happens between 25-40 mph. This has consistently happened whether the vehicle is cold or warm. This, according to many forums I’ve seen, is a common issue with this model of vehicle and transmission. It was brought into my local Ford dealership on 2/17/2026 with approximately 75000 miles on it and they told us we are in need of a transmission replacement.

51 Equipment problem of the 2018 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 01/29/2026

Ford has recalled over 2. 9 million vehicles, including 2015–2018 Ford Edge models, due to a faulty transmission shifter cable bushing that can degrade and detach. This defect may prevent the vehicle from shifting into the intended gear (specifically park), creating a risk of unexpected rollaway and injury. I almost had a bad car accident my. Car was in park and started rolling backwards making this loud screeching noise this was after the recall was allegedly repaired and now they wont fix the issue and its affected the transmission. . . There were no warning messages at all. . Ford is telling me I have to pay 7,200 dollars for a repair they didn't fix properly now I cant even drive my car its still in their possession.

52 Equipment problem of the 2015 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 01/28/2026

I was backing out of my driveway and I went about ten feet and my vehicle stopped I then put it in drive and it wouldn’t go anywhere ,I then put back in reverse and it wouldn’t go backwards either I shut the vehicle off and called triple aaa to get my vehicle towed. While I was waiting I started it up again and the I saw lit up on my dashboard awd malfunction so I shut it off again. The tow company brought my vehicle to a service station up the street so they could look at it . They diagnosed it and on January 29th they said my rear differential needed to be replaced and the cost was going to be $3500 which included labor with all the issues with Ford I checked to see if there was a recall there wasn’t but there were other people complaining about this when u look up problems with 2015 Ford Edge sel. There was no warning message prior to this happening. I do have to get this fixed it’s my only car. Please help this is extremely expensive especially for a senior citizen.

54 Equipment problem of the 2020 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 01/23/2026

Coolant entered into the engine, causing catastrophic failure. There was no warning on the dash of low coolant or anything until it happened. By then, it was too late! this is a known problem by Ford motor company, yet they have done nothing to assist owners with repairs by offsetting costs or performing them for free!!.

55 Equipment problem of the 2017 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 01/21/2026

At this point, I have been told to come in for a diagnostic check (my time off from work), but no parts and cannot fix it if the brake hose is leaking, my rear view camera is acting up at least on a weekly basis, can be at times more often then that, and they do not have the parts, also Ford is not making the parts at this time per warrentary employee at the dealership. ???? so consumer safety with Ford is - do not care about customer safety? I have to stop and take time for a diagnostic check, to be told yes or no if yes nothing can be done, if no let's say in a week it start to leak, again the parts are no being made at this time my recall letter is from 9/1/2025 over 5 months almost half a year and parts are not being made??? increase in stopping distance increases the risk of a crash. I thought customer safety was to protect from physical harm, Ford is not doing this so now , was I sold a lemon that cannot be fixed? try backing up from the driveway into the cudelsac and viewing for kids, and pets then all of a sudden camera jumps to moving lines and scares the crap out of you making you jump (while driving) please assist me understanding why part are not being made for these Ford Edges I know I am not the only Ford Edge on the road I see them when I am on the road. Can we please ensure not just drivers of the Ford Edge safety the to potential damage and injuries to the other vehicle or pedestrian that could be hit by these recall Ford Edges with no repairs in site or parts being made.

56 Equipment problem of the 2017 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 01/13/2026

My Ford Edge started running rough, the temperature was inconsistent, and it was having issues starting. The final straw was the heat stopped working in the middle of winter. We noticed that the coolant was consistently low but that was an ongoing issue. We took the car to the Ford dealer for a diagnostic and they confirmed it was a coolant leak into the engine and it needed an engine replacement. We paid almost $10,000 for an engine replacement as without it the car was worthless and a ticking time bomb. I didn't feel fine selling it to someone like that, so we repaired the vehicle which had approximately 65,000 miles on it at the time and paid out of pocket as Ford was not willing to help with the expense at all. The car was in perfect shape and low mileage, that was a pretty big issue and price to pay for a vehicle with less than 70,000 miles on it.

57 Equipment problem of the 2019 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 01/03/2026

Have only had 2019 Ford Edge sel for just about 3yrs. . Around the middle of Nov, 2025 vehicle started sputting/jerking up to about 40mph then would drive fine at higher speeds. . . While driving over the weekend Jan 3rd 2026 vehicle started smoking extremely bad, no check engine light to let me know anything was wrong, still no lights at this time. . . Had to abruptly stop on the highway to merge over to get to the side safely thinking any minute vehicle could catch fire. Assuming it was a oil leak, had it towed to the mechanic shop where I was informed it was transmission fluid everywhere. After looking up systems I came across a forum where owners of this vehicle are calling for recall for the exact same problem. Mechanic stated take to Ford dealership bc these Edges have had transmission issues and he didn't want to replace converter or any other part then months later need new transmission which he quoted at 9600. Not only my safety was put at risk but every person on the road that day, it was smoking so bad couldn't see clearly out winshield, people honking telling me vehicle was on fire underneath. After all the chaos, fluid everywhere, smoke, burnt smell, jerking, ect. . Still no alert on dash of any kind!.

Multiple instances of being blinded completely by led headlights of oncoming vehicles. Please do something about this!.

59 Equipment problem of the 2022 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 12/31/2025

To whom it may concern, I am writing to formally report an ongoing and concerning issue with my 2022 Ford Edge. My vehicle has begun hesitating when pressing the accelerator and jerking between 20 mph and 40 mph. Some days the issue is worse than others, but it has progressively made the vehicle feel unreliable and unsafe to drive. At times, it feels as though the vehicle may break down while in motion. After researching this issue, I have found that many other Ford Edge owners are experiencing the same symptoms, with the torque converter frequently identified as the cause. This appears to be a widespread and recurring problem rather than an isolated incident. Additionally, the vehicle will coast between approximately 2,000 and 5,000$. This behavior is not normal and raises serious concerns regarding drivability, safety, and long-term damage to the transmission. Given how common this issue appears to be among Ford Edge vehicles, I strongly believe this warrants further investigation and the establishment of a recall. Owners should not be financially responsible for a known and recurring manufacturing defect. I am requesting that Ford address this issue promptly and take responsibility for repairs associated with this problem. I appreciate your time and look forward to a resolution. Sincerely, [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

60 Equipment problem of the 2019 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 12/28/2025

At approximately 10:30 a. M. On 12/28/2025, while traveling on the highway, the panoramic sunroof of my 2019 Ford Edge sel spontaneously exploded without warning. The failure was accompanied by a sound similar to a gunshot. The weather was clear and sunny, with an ambient outdoor temperature of approximately 20°f. The vehicle had been pre-warmed, and the interior climate control was set to 73°f. There were no vehicles immediately in front of me, no overhead bridges, and no evidence of road debris or external impact. Upon the failure, the tempered glass shattered completely, the majority of the glass was forced into the passenger cabin, landing primarily in the backseat. This created an immediate safety hazard, distraction, and risk of injury from glass debris while maintaining vehicle control at high speeds. There is no "impact crater" or point of origin suggesting a rock chip as the front portion of the roof shattered completely; the glass appears to have failed due to internal tension or thermal stress. I am reporting this as a structural defect of the vista roof glass assembly.

61 Equipment problem of the 2019 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 12/18/2025

Car lost power while in motion at 60mph, no warning lights or notifications on Ford pass. After pulling off road car would only crank but never start. Fluids were leaking from undercarriage near transmission, but unsure what fluid it was.

62 Equipment problem of the 2022 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 12/18/2025

I was driving and heard a loud popping sound and there was glass everywhere and my part of my sunroof was blown out. I think it was what they can an exploding sunroof.

63 Equipment problem of the 2017 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 12/12/2025

Component failure: engine - I am reporting a dangerous engine defect in my 2017 Ford Edge which involves the 2. 0l ecoboost i4 f dohc 14v engine. My vehicle has experienced total engine failure due to coolant leaking into the engine cylinders. This is a known design flaw documented by Ford in TSB 19-2346, yet no safety recall has been issued for the Edge model. This defect poses a significant safety risk as it can lead to sudden engine stalling, loss of power while driving, and potential engine fires due to overheating. My vehicle started having issues with coolant levels in December 2025, which led to believe that it was the water pump. This was the first indicator that coolant was leaking somewhere. The repair shop replaced the water pump along with the thermostat and heater hose. Later that week the vehicle started stalling and left my daughter stranded. It was able to be jumped and driven to a shop where the battery was replaced thinking that maybe that was the issue. Within 24 hours the engine started backfiring which left my daughter stranded again. The vehicle was towed to the shop and water pump was replaced again under the warranty but the vehicle just kept backfiring and wouldn't start. It was towed to a Ford dealership where they said that it may need a new engine. Ford knew of the coolant engine intrusion issue and pretended that they didn't know what caused the engine failure and the only solution is an $8k new engine. This has caused an impact and financial burden. My vehicle is currently inoperable. I am facing a repair estimate of $8,000 – $10,000 in addition to all the prior repairs leading up to this catastrophic engine failure . My daughter was left stranded twice and other owners are being left stranded as well with dangerous, failing vehicles because Ford has not transitioned this TSB into a formal recall or customer satisfaction program (csp), despite the clear risk of engine failure at highway speeds. My Ford case # cxh06505814-q0p6z4.

64 Equipment problem of the 2020 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 12/06/2025

The transmission started to fail while driving without any problems beforehand. It caused a huge safety risk while driving in a big city.

65 Equipment problem of the 2017 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 11/26/2025

I had a recall performed last year because my car wouldn’t drive no matter what gear I shifted it into, that was the shifter cable recall. This December I was driving and the car started to roll backwards and now no matter what gear I shifted in unless it was in e brake.

66 Equipment problem of the 2013 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 11/20/2025

Rear backup camera constantly displays an inverted (upside-down) image and the picture quality becomes unclear/blurry. This makes it difficult to judge distance and orientation when reversing and creates a safety risk when backing up.

67 Equipment problem of the 2019 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 11/19/2025

2019-2021 Ford Edge & Lincoln nautilus equipped with the 8f35 transmission for defective failures. Ford issued TSB 21-2389, but it does not resolve the issue.

68 Equipment problem of the 2024 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 11/14/2025

My backup camera began malfunctioning in November 2025. Initially, the image became distorted, and shortly after, the screen went completely blank with a message instructing me to contact the dealership. I did so and was informed that my vehicle was not included in the recall and that I would be responsible for the repair costs out of pocket. I referenced the 15-year rearview camera extended warranty that applies to non-recalled vehicles. The dealership stated they were unaware of this warranty. As a result, I contacted Ford directly and opened a case with the automotive safety office in November 2025. Today, I followed up with Ford to check on the status of my case and was told there has been no update. I was also informed that because there is no csp number associated with the 15-year extended warranty for Edge models that are not actively recalled, Ford cannot take any action. I was essentially told that the warranty “does not exist,” despite the fact that it has been widely reported by major news outlets and automotive publications. I was further told that if my vehicle were currently at a dealership, they might be able to help, but since it is not, they cannot do anything. Ford also stated that while the issue could potentially be recalled in the future, there is no action they are willing to take at this time. This is a known Ford defect, and despite extensive documentation and public acknowledgment of the issue, Ford is refusing to repair it.

69 Equipment problem of the 2019 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 11/14/2025

I am submitting this complaint regarding my 2019 Ford Edge, which now requires a full transmission replacement despite having fewer than 90,000 miles. A major transmission failure at this mileage is highly abnormal for a vehicle of this age and maintenance history. Prior to the failure, I experienced shuddering and irregular shifting, yet the vehicle’s warning lamps did not consistently illuminate to indicate that there was a problem. The lack of warning indicators prevented early detection and contributed to the severity of the issue. I received a repair estimate from don seelye Ford in kalamazoo, mi, totaling $11,534. 07 for the transmission replacement and related service. This cost is excessive and entirely unexpected for a vehicle with under 90,000 miles, and it places a significant financial burden on me as the owner. Given the premature nature of this failure, the safety concerns it created, and the extremely high repair cost, I am requesting a full review of this matter and consideration for assistance or coverage.

70 Equipment problem of the 2021 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 11/08/2025

I am a second time owner of Ford cars, it's really concerning to me that for one, they have the reputation of their transmissions being faulty, lastly that this being my second vehicle that I have purchased from them that's having transmission issues. Transmission issues that are identical to each other. The transmission keeps slipping and I've only owned the car going on two years. There should be no reason that I would have to replace it so soon. Just like it was in my 2005 Ford taurus. This is an issue that needs immediate attention and it's a rip off because coming up with 9 thousand dollars to spend to repair something that you can just get a new car with that as a deposit. I am very frustrated with Ford and it really needs to be looked at. From looking at it, many people have had this issue with this particular car and need you to please act on this. Ford can not continue to make faulty transmission in their cars and expect people to pay these high prices for repair. Please look into this and help us the consumer and spending our hard earned money on faulty producrts.
