The Ford dealership has had my vehicle since may 5, 2025 and since then, has been unable to fix safety recall 25s28 (apim module reprogramming due to distorted screen). On June 30, 3025, the dealership informed me that Ford has put a stop hold on the recall, with no estimate as to when or whether my vehicle will ever be repaired. On June 19, 2025, I filed a complaint with Ford corporate customer service hotline, to no avail. I have heard nothing back from the corporate Ford customer service team. Truly alarming and frustrating.

Back up camera stays on after the vehicle is shifted into drive.
I'm am the original owner of my 2021 Edge st and have kept up with all my scheduled maintenance. Earlier this year, I had my transmission fluid replaced per the 40k maintenance schedule. Since then (and even a little prior to) I can feel the transmission, for lack of a better term, "jutting" and making a very slight "whine" when I've decelerated but then gone to reapply acceleration. It mainly seems to be a problem with second gear. I have also had the fuel neck replaced twice now under warranty. The first time was shortly after purchasing the vehicle, it kept tripping the gas pump at every station and I would have to manually trickle the gas in. Then again a year or two ago it started tripping again and they replaced it. I've also had various rattling noises that start out of no where and persist. My moon roof even came from the factory missing pieces that had to get installed only a month after I had the vehicle. The roof is starting to rattle again this year. I have identified that by rolling the sun shade open and closed and finding with the shade opened and rolled up, the rattling stops.
Weatherstripping on the Ford Edge has been an ongoing issue since new and there should be a formal recall. The noise from the freeway is extensive and the weatherstripping needs constant attention. You search Ford Edge weather stripping issues, there's a gazillion forums with people with the same issues. This needs to be a formal recall so that I don't have to keep replacing or adjusting my weather stripping or having it hang loose driving down the freeways.

The rear view camera glitches and the display is either blacked out or scattered. The motion sensor does not always work when this happens. I was not aware of an on coming car while backing up causing a safety risk. The screen will start glitching and become distorted while I am already backing up, making it hard to know where the objects are. There are not any warning lights to indicate a problem. I brought the car to the service center at the dealership from where I purchased it, they said I would have to pay for a new camera. I did not do that because there is a recall in the 2021 model and other Ford vehicles for the same issue .
My car started jerking when I drive and it would stall. I went to the dealership and at first they stated that it was probably nothing. They told me I can leave it with them but it would take 2 weeks to be assessed. I was responsible for my own rental car during this "assessment period". After the assessment they determined it was the transmission and it had to be totally rebuilt and it would take another 2 week. Despite fortunately being under power train warranty, the dealership would only cover part of the rental for another 2 weeks.
My back up camera is distorted not working correctly.

Backup camera fails intermittently and displays a warning telling me it is not operable and recommending it be checked. Same problem as desc2ibed in NHTSA recall issued last month for Ford vehicles including 2021-2014 Edge.

The back up camera is not clear and the screen is froze once vehicle is in drive it’s still showing the rear camera.
My adaptive steering light came on and my steering wheel turned to the left like I am turning left. I am on social security and can not afford to pay 4000 dollars to have this fixed. Ford has a recall on 2017 Edges for this. All these steering wheels are made just alike. This VIN# should be included in the recall. I do not want to have an accident due to them not fixing this vehicle. Please help me with this. Thank you.

Back up camera randomly goes to a blank/black screen. Other times it randomly flips upside down. Many times the picture is grainy and wavy. Completely unreliable. I was told that the cameras just go bad randomly and that it’s my problem. However, it has to be the wiring since occasionally the picture is sharp and occasionally it is right side up. The constant unreliability is a safety hazard.
The dash keeps showing an error “rear door ajar”. The door is closed and locked. However the interior lights will not go out because “a door is open”. This causes a safety issue when driving.

Rear view (back up) camera works only on and off. The screen goes black and a warning to contact the dealer shows up. It is getting more and more frequent lately. I am having a very hard time in crowded parking lots. Now it has stopped completely.
Occasionally the trunk will close automatically on its own. You can be standing under the trunk (e. G. Putting groceries away) and the trunk will close without anyone pushing the button to close it. Many individuals have reported similar issues for various vehicles.
On February 22 our Ford Edge exploded in our driveway. We had only been home 15 minutes at the most when we heard the explosion. The vehicle was not running. We went outside and the vehicle was fully engulfed with flames. It was completely burned down to the metal and did over $7000 in damages to our home. It was parked in our driveway next to the home. Again, the car was not running. We have contacted the Ford motor company, but they keep giving us different dates on when we should hear from them. We have not had any prior issues with the vehicle and there wasn't any warning signs or any smell of gas anytime before the incident. The only recall we received was about the airbag and we took it to Ford to have it taken care of. When I called Ford after the incident, the customer care representative mentioned a recall about the gas tank bracket I believe, but we never received a notification about that. We haven't removed the vehicle from our property and it's still there. Ford hasn't asked to come look at it. They only requested the fire department report.

The rearview camera has malfunctioned many times. The camera image will delay, freeze or not display when the vehicle is in reverse. This same issue has been reported on newer Ford products and they are under recall.
The rear lift gate will not open and it operates some time and cannot be open at all and no warning lights come on.

Transmission issue, unable to diagnose with error codes as the system does not recognize it.
I was pumping gas and the back glass just shattered sounded like a bomb going off.
I believe there's a manufactuing defect with my rear defrost. I woke up this morning to my back windshield blowing out. The temperature was not cold nor there was nothing felled on it. My car was parked in my driveway.
Back up camera stopped working. Back up sensors either don’t work or will just beep when nothing is behind the car. Don’t have exact date it stopped working because it started working for 1 day and then stopped working again. It has been probably 8 or 9 months since it has worked.
Backup camera doesn't always display. Had a accident while backing up.
For several months, my vehicle had been shaking while driving and when idle; felt as though the transmission was slipping. When reported to the dealership and after constantly having the vehicle serviced, no issue could be found. Recently the vehicle stalled while attempting to reverse. The vehicle had to be turned off and restarted before the gears could be switched properly. No indicator lights came on before or after the incident. The vehicle was taken to the dealership and diagnostics resulted in the following: "torque converter shutter gears 4 & 5 slipping. Abnormal signals and solenoid. Metal debris found in fluid. Replacement of transmission suggested. " the advisor stated that the vehicle is unsafe to drive until the transmission has been replaced.
Vehicle shuddering at speeds between 25-40. . . Vehicle has a little over 58k miles on it. . . Found no recalls but numerous issues of same degree. . . Ford not wanting to take responsibility for bad product! costing the owners thousands in repairs!.
For last 3+ years rear reverse camera remains blank and screen becomes unresponsive unable to use steering wheel buttons to change radio station or volume. Can get working again by performing a system reset (press seek and volume knob) took to Ford dealer for the camera recall 20c19 when recall first came out. As parts were not available, dealer stated they could not apply fix due to work schedule, finally able to reschedule in Dec 2024. After fix had been applied, reverse camera continues to stay blank and inoperable. Took back to Ford dealership. Dealership stated this was not under the recall as it is caused by a bad apim module. Warranty had expired by this time so that did not cover this either. The end failure symptom is the same as the recall but not caused by the same component therefore is not covered. Cost to replace is >$1000 so not affordable to repair. Had a few close accidents caused by the lack of reverse camera function. Vehicle is available for inspection. If the end failure is the same as that caused lack of safety requiring a recall, why would the apim module also not be replaced under recall?.
I took my Ford Edge in as the engine was making a loud rattling noise, I was told I had a cracked flex plate and Ford will only cover half. I was never notified of this recall and now I am in charge of paying 50% of a safety issue because of Ford's mistake. I am now not able to drive my car advised by the mechanic because of this safety issue. This is a program by Ford and should be a recall. I should not be stuck paying 50% for something Ford messed up and am now not able to drive my vehicle as it was deemed unsafe. I also should not be paying 50% of something because Ford never legally notified me.
Driving normally to work, without a warning the car started vibrating and jerking vigorously when the car is turn on…if I try to drive it the car rolls but doesn’t want to break.
The oil pan is made of metal and plastic and the plastic warps over time and causes major oil leaks requiring frequent expensive replacement. There are no after market parts, only the plastic. Major oil leaks are hazardous.

Driving down i96 highway, the sunroof/moonroof shattered/exploded with no apparent cause. A loud popping noise followed by spider cracking and fragmenting glass was the result. After closing the top, the glass started to fall. No foreign objects found. Brand new vehicle, first time driving in severely cold weather, brought back to Ford dealership who found "no reports" of defective sunroof/moonroof. There were no cars in front or any overpasses that something could have been dropped from.

Transmission failed due to issue with planetary gear. According to the mechanics, this is not a part that can be accessed or maintained by the consumer. Yet the entire transmission is shot because of it. Cost to repair is $12,000. Ford is paying $5,000. Shouldn't they pay more since it's a defective part? I see reports of transmission issues across Ford Edge models.
My Ford Edge 2019 only has 68,000 miles and I felt it jerking at 30 mph. I checked with Ford, there is no recall. A transmission shop says the whole thing needs to be replaced because Ford uses cheaper parts on the transmission. Total cost will be $8,000. For a car with low miles. Online forums shows a lot of people have the same issues. Can they be forced to recall these?? or help me pay for mine to be fixed?.
On 11/06/24 while driving around 20 mph I heard a loud pop. I looked around to see if something was hit now let the sunshade back and saw that the sunroof was shattered.
