Made 4 mile trip from home to church on christmas eve 2013 and upon arrival at church there was a profound smell of gasoline around the front of the vehicle which also permeated the passenger cabin. Contacted the dealer the day after christmas to alert then of the incident. The response was that they had performed an inspection on 05 Feb 2013 and found no problem and that there was no outstanding recall. I have a printed copy of the recall notice from Ford dated 27 September 2013 and the information is also on the idriveonline. Com website specifically associated with my vehicle.

Car stopped running as my wife, daughter, and myself were on our way home. My wife was driving and was able to pull to the side of the hwy. After a few minutes the car restarted and we continued home. I took the car to the dealer and left it for about a week. The service rep. I spoke with said they could find no trouble code and could not duplicate the problem. I asked if he had spoken with Ford engineering about this and he said no. I asked him to and he said he would. He called Ford engineering and they said they had no solution and denied a problem. I was told to return my loaner car. I did so . A different service rep. Waited on me this time. When he brought me the car he asked if my problem was fixed and I said no . He asked me the problem and I told him. He then told me that he had a lady with the same problem with her car,a 2012 Ford Edge. He contacted Ford and they told him to change programming. They did this two times and the problem persisted. She then traded the car with 32000 mi. On it for a new vehicle. I talked with several Ford reps and for the most part seemed unconcerned. I expressed my safety concerns to them to no avail. I was treated as collateral damage.

While traveling at approximately 30 miles per hour, the car suddenly stalled, although it would move at a very slow speed at a rough idle, maybe 1 mile per hour, no matter how hard the accelerator was depressed. Simultaneously, a yellow wrench warning light appeared. I pulled into a parking lot and let the engine run, it remained running rough at a very slow speed. I continued for about a minute, then shut the engine off. After restart, the car ran normally with no warning indicators. I took the car to a Ford dealer where they could not reproduce the problem, and was told that because I shut the car off, any error codes were cleared. They could also not perform a repair if they did not know the cause, although they said it is probably the throttle body. Without error codes, there was nothing they could do. This is a safety problem, I was fortunate to not be on the highway going 60 miles per hour.

Fuel leak 2012 Ford Edge, eco boost while driving my 2012 Ford Edge eco boost home from work on ca101 I noticed a fuel small in the cabin of the vehicle. By the time I arrived home (15 miles later) the fuel smell was overwhelming. Once I parked the vehicle I got out of the car to inspect the vehicle I notice a trail of fuel behind the vehicle and could hear "liquid" draining from the engine section. A large pool of fuel formed on the ground under the engine section. In total at least ~4-6 gallons of fuel leaked on the road and my drive way. I notified my Ford dealership, santa maria Ford (888)-440-7149, of the problem they said there were no recalls on my particular vehicle (VIN:[xxx]). As of 8:45 am pst, 10 oct 13 the car was being towed to santa maria Ford for an inspection. At the time of the incident there was a significant amount of fuel in the engine section, there was definitely a potential for a fire. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
