Steering Failed Problems of Ford Edge

Tl-the contact owns a 2015 Ford Edge. Contact stated that parked with the vehicle idling, the vehicle eps warning light illuminated. Contact placed the vehicle gear in reverse ,turned the steering wheel which seized to operate correctly. Triple-a was contacted and towed the vehicle to a shop performed a diagnosed test and determined that the steering gear motor failed and needed to be replaced. However triple could not repair the vehicle , towed the vehicle to the dealer (downs Ford, inc. 360 new jersey Ave 37, toms river, NJ 08753 (877) 868-1848) where it is begin diagnosed at this time. The vehicle has not been repaired. The contact mentioned 19v632000(steering),15v250000(steering as a possible solution to the failure. The manufacturer was contacted and is awaiting information about diagnoses from the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 33,000. Ck.

Powersteering failed and gave messages "service advance trac", "steering assist fault service required", and "hill start assist not available". Happened while stationary but could have been potentially deadly if while in operation. Fixed by pulling the battery to reset.

I parked my car in a lot w/out any issues. When I returned to the vehicle and started the car and put the car into reverse gear, a warning light "adaptive steering failure" was displayed. The wheel seemed to not be centered when driving straight. I even tried shutting off the car and restarting, but to no avail. I parked it at home and the next day started it to show my husband and the light was no longer on. The steering wheel still seems off though. I'm terrified to drive the car and am hoping the dealership will be thorough in investigating the reason for this.

Vehicle lost assisted steering while in a parking lot, making it incredibly difficult to steer. The screen on the dash popped up with the messages�steering assist fault� �service advancetrac� and �hill start assist disabled�. I am 250lbs, and I found it very difficult to steer turn the wheel. There is no doubt in my mind that if my wife was traveling down the highway when it happened, it would have resulted in a wreck. Ford said the steering gear was the problem, and it would be $2397. 25 for the repair. The vehicle has 40,700 miles and I can't believe something as critical as the steering would fail at such low mileage.

Electronic steering gear failed at 39,900 miles. $2300 to fix.

My car was parked in a shopping center. When we returned to the vehicle and started the car and put the car into forward gear, a warning light "adaptive steering failure" was displayed. In order to drive straight, I had to turn the wheel at a full 90 degree angle. I even tried shutting off the car and restarting, but to no avail. After parking it at home, I let it sit for about an hour, restarted the car, and everything was suddenly normal again. Drove down the street, everything seemed fine at that point. The contact owns a 2014 Ford Edge. While driving 25 mph, the steering wheel seized and was difficult to steer left or right. Angela krause Ford Lincoln in alpharetta, georgia was made aware of the failure and diagnosed that the steering was likely to fail while driving 25 mph or less. Originally, the shaft and the pump assembly were replaced in the vehicle, but the failure recurred. The dealer stated that the failure could not be duplicated and that the vehicle was performing normally. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
