37 Suspension problem of the 2011 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 05/08/2019

First of all the first problem I encountered with my vehicle was the passenger wheel barring was defected and started making a bad noise so took it to the shop and the mechanic said lucky I did because is was about to break and cause my wheel to come off going down the road. After that I noticed that my engine would run hot if I sat still in the parking lot just running even with the ac off. I had no warning that anything was wrong. I turned my car off and it didn't seem to do it anymore until we started getting this really hot weather this may, me and my family was going in to town to grab a bite to eat when (without any warning) my car starts sputtering as if I put bad gas in it. My husband instructed me to pull over and take a look and low and behold my car has been running hot just after driving only 10 minutes. He pulled the dipstick and oil is milky and oil was all in the water resivour. My car had over heated without any warning that anything was wrong and blown heat gasket and cracked heads. My engine shot. We took it to the shop where I had to purchase a new engine and after the mechanic ran a diagnostics test on my car he said that the fan control module was faulty which did not allow my cooling fans to come on at all and my system never alerted me either. We replaced cooling fans along with module. Everything seems fine after 2,000 dollars later. Fyi never rely on your information screen to tell you if your running hot, go to settings and keep your screen on the temp gauge at all times so you will know for yourself how cool your engine is running. I would be nice after all the complaints Ford has received about these piece of crap cooling fans that they will just suck it up and do the recall. We are hard working americans and dont deserve this crap. We support Ford an american car manufacturer and expect the same respect!!.

40 Suspension problem of the 2010 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 08/15/2018

A few weeks ago my 2010 Ford Edge started making a loud rattling noise when driving at low speeds. I brought my car in and was told I have a bad driveshaft. My mechanic called Ford dealer and was told they have over 160 driveshaft parts on back order and won't have any available for over a month. If there is so many problems with the driveshafts on 2010 why hasn't there been a recall on. Maybe this should be looked into.

41 Suspension problem of the 2008 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 06/20/2018

Well this is been recalled. On other 2008 Ford. Edge but I think my 2008 Ford Edge should be in that recall I recently bought my Edge from a used dealer all the safety issues and recalls my Ford Edge has my has all of the issues my Ford Edge went in for tire rotation and oil change when they returned my car I left the shop and then realized the front tire is vibrating when driven slowly and turns I called Ford to ask if my car was one of the ones on the recall list for bearing recall and the said no I know this was not an issue till now and im afraid to drive my car due to this recall I feel my car should be included also of course the tranny is definitely not working correctly when also driving slowly it jerks terribly in to another gear. Serval times I have avoided car accidents by having to brake abruptly cause the car to get stuck in that gear and me having to suddenly forcing the car to pull over to side of busy 5 o clck traffic and turn off car and restart it to engage the gears to the next one I have backed into my fence do to this sudden jerking without warning and have damaged my back bumper due to this issue and that my car is not been recall due to these issues. First time I buy american and first-time I hate my car now im stuck making payment on a car that has so many issues and un able to drive safely I making payment for the next 17 months for a car I cant drive and I will never buy american again also the brakes a grinding and squeeling and since I have abs brakes system shouldnt the warning light be warning me before they actually start sounding like grinding to pieces of metal together I feel my car should be one of the one that should get recalled for issues other cars have been recalled for the same issues and this started since 6/16 /2018 and has been everyday since and im also still waiting to get the air bag recall fixed its been over a year.

43 Suspension problem of the 2009 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 10/01/2017

I received a letter from Ford about Nov/Dec 2017 advising me of the recall issues for my vehicle. I have not been able to speak to a Ford customer service rep, and my dealer nor the finance company know what to do. I received a more recent letter from Ford with options and stating that the parts required are still not available. I need to speak to someone because I am afraid of all the recall issues surrounding my vehicle. I keep the maintenance up on my vehicle but I have been experiencing safety issues while driving, like my vehicle threatens to stop for no apparent reason while I'm driving it. I can't afford to continually pay for repairs or even just be without my vehicle because I'm the only income for my family!.

46 Suspension problem of the 2016 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 03/29/2017

I'm experiencing what many, many other Ford super duty truck owners have been experiencing since about 2005 commonly known as the "death wobble". At speeds above 45 miles per hour, when the truck goes across a rough (washboard) bit of road or a bridge joint, the front end sometimes shakes violently which also causes the steering wheel to shake violently until you can bring the vehicle to a stop, which is not easy. This is a very serious safety issue, which could cause loss of control resulting in injury to passengers as well as other drivers on the road. In the research I have done, it appears that Ford has done very little to correct this problem for consumers. I have mentioned the problem to the dealership where I purchased the truck new twice now and they say they cannot find anything wrong and cannot duplicate the problem in a test drive. I have only 26,000 miles on the truck and the problem seems to be getting worse. Have had it aligned twice and tires rotated regularly. No unusual wear. My wife refuses to drive the truck and I'm not too excited about it myself. Will it take injuries and deaths to force Ford into admitting there is a problem and fix it?.

54 Suspension problem of the 2011 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 05/15/2014

Vehicle failed annual safety inspection at approximately 40k miles. Dealer explained that front tie rod ends had failed and needed replacement. Made an appointment for service. Upon returning for service on the scheduled date at approximately 45k miles, dealer discovered leak in front rack and pinion assembly and explained entire front rack and pinion assembly needs replacement. As of this report, the vehicle is still with the local dealership's service department. The part to be replaced is on back-order. After quick internet search, discovered instances of same problem in steering & suspension with other 2011 Ford Edge and 2011 Lincoln mdx awd vehicles. This is a safety issue in addition to being extremely costly in a relatively new vehicle for myself and other vehicle owners. This should be investigated. Thanks for your time.

55 Suspension problem of the 2008 Ford Edge

Noise coming from the right, rear wheel area at various speeds. Sounds like a light rumble strip sound and a light squeeling/grinding also. Took it to a local mechanic who says the bearings are bad. 57 Suspension problem of the 2011 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 04/01/2013

I purchased a certified used 2011 Ford Edge in January 2013. Shortly thereafter, I started noticing some major issues. 1) the transmission whines at low speeds, until I accelerate & it shifts up a few gears. I have also had it slip & clunk while shifting gears 2) there is a loud popping from the front end, passenger side, when I am turning, especially in & out of parking spots 3) there is a whistle coming from under the SUV, between the driver side doors & it does it in accessory mode or when the SUV is running. I have now had it back at the dealer for the 3rd time & they are working with Ford on diagnosing the issues. It is very disheartening to spend so much money for a vehicle & have such issues. Thankfully it is certified & under warranty. The dealership has been good about getting me a loaner vehicle too. But I almost am ready to ask them to trade me out of it, because I am sick of dealing with the issues. It is embarrassing to have such a nice looking "new" vehicle & when people ride with me, they notice all the things wrong & say I got a bad deal.

61 Suspension problem of the 2010 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 12/12/2011

Started noticing a vibration in steering at slow speeds when pulling into or out of parking spaces. Took to the dealer for repair at 34,000 miles a few weeks later and dealer at first could not duplicate the issue, then with my help identified it as a power steering pump and replaced. The next day, say issue and they then stated it was a normal characteristic of car model. Warranty has since expired and has gotten significantly worse and mileage is currently 49k as I am a sales rep and log a lot of miles. I also began getting a loud popping noise in the front from both sides at about 38k miles, predominantly left side, especially when making low speed turns and/or going over small bumps, like when entering or leaving a parking lot. I have not taken it to the dealer for inspection but have had a local midas check for an issue twice with nothing found, but issue is also getting much worse.

63 Suspension problem of the 2007 Ford Edge

Failure Date: 04/29/2010

Approximately 6 weeks ago I found out that I had a big problem with my car. I was told I was not to drive it because if the pto unit went out my rear wheels would not function because it is all wheel drive and it would be dangerous to drive the vehicle. Well Ford motor company was to ship parts out in 2 weeks, well that didn't happen. Then again I was told the parts would be here last week and they took me off back order and said my parts would be here by Monday June 4th. Well guess what my part didn't make it. The list of back orders according to [xxx] at Ford motor company is 1700 as of yesterday. So how many orders have they already filled? they only used this transmission in 2 vehicles for either 1 or 2 years. I know that some people have been waiting for months. At least 3 to 4 already. I know this is a safety problem and would appreciate if you could look into this for me and all the 1700+ consumers. Thank you, information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
