Engine Cooling System problems of the 2001 Ford Escape

The contact owned a 2001 Ford Escape. The contact did not receive any recall notifications. The contact stated that the brake lights remained illuminated for an extended period of time. The vehicle was inspected by an independent mechanic. While the vehicle was parked in a residental parking space, a security guard noticed smoke coming from the vehicle. After making a second round, the guard informed the vehicle owner that the vehicle was consumed by flames. The fire department extinguished the flames. A fire report was filed and the contact took pictures. The vehicle was parked and had not been inspected by a dealer or manufacturer. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that they would follow-up in writing, but did not provide a time frame for the recall repair. The vehicle was destroyed. The failure mileage was not available. Parts distribution disconnect.

The transmission on my 2001 Ford Escape, went out I had 58,000 miles on the truck. Had to put in a new transmission. Now 4 months later, the engine light comes on. The engine coolant warning light keeps coming on even though it is full. All of the lighters/sun roof have no power to them they all quit. I have replaced all fuses, with no luck. Now the all lights on the radio are gone, but the radio still works.

Engine has stalled twice while driving 40-50mph. Sunroof motor had to be replaced. Coolant recorvery jug had to be replaced. Sensor asy-egr was replaced after 1st time engine stalled. Has since stalled again.

I have spoken with a Ford rep. For a new car, too many things have gone wrong. It is currently in the shop have the window and abs brakes fixed. Every time it's somehting new! nlm.

Consumer states that the vehicle stalls while driving, the most recent repairs made by the dealer was the replacement of the iac and air intake, consumer is concerned about the problem happening again. The indicator lights for engine coolant and battery illuminated, the dealer replaced a part on the coolant rec tank, however the coolant light illuminated again.
