Automatic Transmission Control Module problems of the 2010 Ford Escape

1 Automatic Transmission Control Module problem

Failure Date: 11/15/2015

While accelerating, clunking noises heard in the transmission. When at 80 kilometers an hour, speed was suddenly reduced to approximately 30 kph. . Causing a sudden deceleration almost caused me to be rear ended by another vehicle. According to Ford, this is a known problem in the vehicle. . It cost me over $1000. To replace the pcm. . This is a direct safety issue. . I could have been killed because of a faulty part. The mechanic at the Ford dealer informed me the problem exists because the pcm is placed in the main engine compartment and in a cold and damp environment, fails regularly. They replace these pcm's weekly. . So it is not just a problem for me, it is a money maker for Ford. This needs to be classified as a recall issue and repaired. .

2 Automatic Transmission Control Module problem

Failure Date: 04/11/2015

The contact owns a 2010 Ford Escape. While driving at 60 mph, the vehicle hesitated and the speed decreased to 40 mph. The vehicle stalled. The contact was unable to steer the vehicle, but was able to pump the brakes and stop the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was determined that the gears in the transmission had been stripped. The check engine light, oil light, and battery light illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact stated that the dealer previously changed the fuel gasket twice, but that did not correct the failure. The vehicle was taken to another dealer who determined that the transmission failed. The vehicle had not been repaired. The contact spoke with the manufacturer in regards to a newsletter regarding replacing the throttle body and reprogramming the pcm under investigation pe13003. The manufacturer stated that the dealer did not feel the repair was warranted and the manufacturer declined to pay for the repair. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was 85,000.

3 Automatic Transmission Control Module problem

Failure Date: 07/13/2014

The car entered into failure mode effects management (fmem) mode or limp mode when it was on high way, malfunction indicator lamp (mil) or wrench lamp were both on the dash. The power and vehicle speed was getting reduced,even when I was trying to accelerate the car. Before this issue happened, software program for the pcm (powertrain control module) is updated with responding to a service letter from Ford and the problem is not fixed.

4 Automatic Transmission Control Module problem

Failure Date: 11/19/2013

While driving approx 20 mph in a community to car slowed down to a crawl. It would not travel faster than approx 5 mph. Happened again a week later. Took it to garage the computer read p2111 - throttle actuator control tac system - stuck open. Description; this powertrain control module pcm fault status indicates the throttle plate is at a greater angle than commanded. Possible causes; binding throttle body stuck open, tac motor circuit open, tac motor circuits are cross-wired, tac motor harness circuits are shorted together, damage pcm.

5 Automatic Transmission Control Module problem

Failure Date: 08/29/2013

Driving on highway at about 50 mph, sounded like engine shut down and the gas wouldn't work at all. Thankfully, the brakes worked and I pulled over and turned the car off for a few minutes before turning it back on and driving to my mechanic who recommended going to my Ford dealer. They charged me over $500 to replace the throttle body and reprogram the pcm. . . Any recalls from Ford for this?.
