1 Engine Stall problem

Failure Date: 09/02/2016

While driving my car I slowed down to make a turn and the engine suddenly stopped. No warning, shaking or decrease in speed. It just stopped I tried restarting but it wouldnt start until 10mins later. I was able to drive it to the dealership with no problems or lights on the dash but after I left (they couldn't see the car until 4 days later) leaving the lot the engine seemed to stall off and on for the 5 mile trip so I would put it in neutral when I would come to a light and coast to a stop, then restart. The wrench light came on and later the engine light. Also the rpm 's on the dash would go up to 4-5 but my engine speed would be 40 mph this scared me so bad, I parked the car until the appointment at the dearlership when I took it to the dealership they did a diagnostic but know codes came up. They did fix the throttle.

2 Engine Stall problem

Failure Date: 10/19/2015

My 2011 Ford Escape while driving at 65 mph on the freeway in merging traffic the engine stalls leaving me with no power to control my speed. As my car quickly reduces speed on a major freeway I attempt to get over to the shoulder out of harm¿s way, his has happened to me twice. So I call the service and they tell me it¿s a problem with electronic throttle body but when I take the car to my dealer for service. They told me sorry after two key cycles the code disappears so there is nothing they can do. So I have to drive this unsafe car and wait for it to happen again before I can bring it in.

The contact owns a 2011 Ford Escape. The contact stated that while driving 40 mph, the engine stalled and all the warning lights illuminated. The contact also stated there was smoke coming from the front of the vehicle. The contact opened the hood and noticed that a fire had erupted. A police report was filed and the vehicle was towed to an impound lot. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 78,000.

4 Engine Stall problem

Failure Date: 06/10/2014

The engine has stalled on multiple occasions. Several of the incidents have occurred when making a turn, either right or left, at a low speed with no pressure being applied to either the gas or brake pedal. The most recent events have been when turning onto a street with oncoming traffic. I make the turn and press on the gas only to find that the engine has stalled. I have to stop and restart the vehicle. This makes for a dangerous situation as you end up with little control of the vehicle. It has also stalled in parking lots when coasting at a low speed waiting on another car. I purchased this vehicle used in may of 2014 and had to take it to a local Ford dealership the very next month (June 2014). The dealership replaced the throttle body and motor assembly and also reprogrammed the pcm per the 13n01 recall. Within two months, the issue was back, this is January of 2015, and the issue has gotten much worse. I have read that it could be a type of relay switch located in the under-the-hood fuse box. If Ford doesn't fix this issue, there will eventually be wrecks and possible fatalities.

5 Engine Stall problem

Failure Date: 07/30/2013

Engine cut out while driving at about 55mph and 'check engine' light lit up on the dashboard. I pulled over to side of road and waited about ten minutes before re-starting vehicle. The vehicle started ok but 'check engine' light stayed on. I took it to service station and they ran diagnostic and got code p2111 - throttle actuator stuck open. I made repair appointment at Ford dealer for next day. While driving home from work the engine stalled at a traffic light but re-started ok.

6 Engine Stall problem

Failure Date: 07/06/2013

The engine intermittently stalled/quit while driving at speed on numerous occasions. We took it to a Ford dealership. Diagnostics by their service department identified the problem as a defective throttle body.

The contact owns a 2011 Ford Escape. The contact stated while driving approximately 60 mph the wrench symbol and engine warning indicators illuminated; then the engine stalled. After several attempts to start the vehicle it began to function normally. The failure recurred within a few moments; however, the contact was able to restart the vehicle. 8 Engine Stall problem

Failure Date: 06/15/2013

While driving on the expressway crg g5 at 45mph the engine stalled, with no more power supplied to the car and it rolled to a full stop. The electronic throttle did not operate to accelerate or drive the car any more. The vehicle had to be towed away. The check-engine light and 'wrench' light are on, the associated dtc code is p2112.

9 Engine Stall problem

Failure Date: 06/04/2013

The contact owns a 2011 Ford Escape. The contact stated that while driving approximately 60 mph, the engine stalled without warning. The vehicle was coasted restarted and resumed normally. The failure recurred twice. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the contact was advised that the engine throttle body needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired because the dealer stated that the part was on back order. The failure mileage and current mileages were 66,000.

10 Engine Stall problem

Failure Date: 04/15/2013

On several occasions my engine has stalled. Each time it happened I was at a stop and when I started to go through the intersections the engine stalled. It would start again but the stall put me in very dangerous situations.

11 Engine Stall problem

Failure Date: 01/02/2013

The engine surges and stalls at the most unusual moments. There seems to be no reason for the surge and stalling, but can become very dangerous. I have learned to leave extra extra room in case of surging and I also have adopted the policy of when making decisions to enter traffic, I must account for "in case the car stalls, will I die". 2011 Ford Escape limited.

12 Engine Stall problem

Failure Date: 08/30/2012

While I was driving the engine stalled down so pulled off the road engine was still running but running rough and no throttle response I shut the engine off then started it back up and everything was fine so drove off. Later that same day it did it again. Next day brought to Ford dealership and they had it for a week trying to get it to do the same thing for them but never did so I picked it back up and was a couple miles away and it stalled on me again brought it back to the dealership they kept it over night again and next day told me it stalled on them and said I need a new throttle body but was on back order. So here I am almost three months later and still no part and today Nov. 11 2013 I had the engine stall on me 8 times.

13 Engine Stall problem

Failure Date: 08/21/2012

I was driving on the interstate at 70mph when my car seemed to just completely lose power. I had to coast to the side of the road, put the car in park, turn it off and restart it. The incident happened exactly the same a couple other times. Also happen once when in the middle of the city. I was at a busy intersection and the car lost power in the middle of the intersection. I was not able to go anywhere until I turned off the car and restarted it. I was nearly t-boned at 5 months pregnant. Dealer was having a hard time figuring out what was wrong but finally figured out that it was something wrong with the drive train which caused the engine to stall.
