Engine Stall problems of the 2013 Ford Escape - part 1

My car was in park with the engine on. I put my car in drive and put my foot on the gas pedal. The engine loses power and stalls. Red oil lamp sign come on. No system check message shows. I turned the car off and on again and the same thing happened.

My 2013 Ford Escape just hit 100,000 miles. The car started stalling out when excelerating. I took it to the local Ford dealership, they could not find any codes when analyzing it. They replaced points & plugs. Dealership indicated they have never heard of the engine stalling; thank goodness it happened to the service when he test drove it. I came home and researched stalling 2013 Escapes, was surprised to see all the problems; not sure what sites Ford uses for research. When I went to pick the vehicle up after paying my $400 bill, I never made it out of the parking lot, it stalled out again. So the Escape is still sitting st the dealership.

Engine stall twice while driving with no warning, starts right back up, seems same symptoms as other recalls for same year Escapes.

Engine stalls at idle and when taking off from intersection has two engine codes p008b p0087 sometimes desert a lot and sometimes very little.

The engine stalls out when taking off after normal driving and in all temperatures. It will drive fine for a few days and then it will stall out 4 or 5 times in a single day and for multiple days. It has stalled out when leaving a parking lot into traffic, as well as when accelerating to get on the highway.

Have experienced multiple (10-12) instances where engine stalls while driving. Most common situation is when slowing for a turn in city traffic. Cause is unknown. This creates a safety hazard because the brake pedal must be depressed to restart the engine, so I have to come to a complete stop in traffic.

Engine keeps stalling after driving for awhile took it to Ford garage a few months ago they said they couldn't find anything. I knew something was wrong I have already replaced the transmission and based on results of new diagnostic test done by a friend and not Ford garage 2103 Ford Escape p0234 I may eventually be replacing another. This is very annoying because the Ford garage can't find the problem.

The engine kept stalling out at idle or just putting into gear. Mechanic diagnosed as gdi pump psi was dropping to 526. He replaced it. It is still stalling out when right after putting it in gear.

The engine stalls at intersections. I've noticed it's when the fuel is low (40 miles or fewer to empty).

Vehicle has had frequent "engine stalls," where there is hesitation and stumbling with the rpms moving from 1-6 sporadically. Frequent power loss with engine, and while driving on the nys thruway, almost caused an accident when vehicle engine light began to flash with major power loss. After this occurred, it was was found by the local Ford dealership to require an engine replacement. This vehicle is a 2013 Ford Escape and had 56,000 miles on it when this occurred.

Engine stalls when in low or idle when engine is warm. Does t every time I come back out to my vehicle after going somewhere.

My car keeps stalling. It all started after one random drive of car sitting all night, all of a sudden my temperature gauge went skyrocketing and my car started smoking. And needed coolant which was fine just before all of that happen. After that it will just randomly stall, the oil pressure light will come on and then my battery light. My oil like on my dipstick is skyrocketing even after letting your car sit. Something needs to be done I drive to college everyday as well as taking my son to school everyday I cannot have a car where the engine catches on fire or I keep stalling out and then I'm 20 30 minutes late to class.

The engine has stalled twice in the last few weeks while I was driving on the road. The first time is stalled it was in the middle of an intersection (I was able to coast to shoulder) and it would not start up right away. My mechanic replaced an 02 sensor, but within a week it stalled again, this time as I drove on a city street. This time it restarted after I pulled over.

The engine will stall while driving. It has been doing it after being off for 0-60 minutes. I won't be able to accelerate and then the car starts shaking and shuts down.

The car hesitate or the engine stall soon after starting, if you don't drive off immediately the car will shut off and has to be restarted. This happens on cold starts but mostly after the car has been running.

The engine stalls out in the middle of the highway. It has done this off and on for 2 out of the 3 years ive had it. Also, mysteriously runs low on coolant and ive been getting warning signals telling me engine temperature is dangerously high, even if I just start the car!.

The engine is stalling when switching gears, and is causing a safety issue while driving. It has previously been in the repair shop and still is unable to switch gears without causing the car to stall, as if there is an issue with the transmission but the tests are not supporting that it is being caused by normal wear and tear. The car only has 48k miles.

Occasionally when leaving parking lots, my 2013 Ford Escape engine will cut out and stall causing you to have to turn off and restart the vehicle. Usually the vehicle will start right back up and operate completely fine after that, but occasionally it takes a little longer to start up. Once the vehicle is on the road or highway, it seems to be ok. This issue has only happened in parking lots or when pulling out of a stationery space and it does not happen every single time making the issue hard to recreate.

Tl- the contact owns a 2013 Ford Escape. The contact stated while driving the vehicle engine stalled without warning. No warning lights illuminated during the failure. The vehicle was taken to the dealer galpin Ford prescott arizona 1000 sandretto dr, prescott, az 86305 who diagnosis the vehicle as a failed engine wiring harness. The vehicle was repaired. The failure occurred numerous times after repair. The contact referenced NHTSA recall campaign number 15v813000 (electrical system) as a possible solution however the VIN was not included. The manufacture was notified and informed the contact to call NHTSA. The failure mileage was 112,000. VIN not available. Hk.

I have already submitted one statement. I am just wondering why my vehicle wasn't included on the recalls listed below when it sounds like the exact kind of problem I have been having with my vehicle. When started it doesn't take off and get up to speed without hesitation and stalling. And when I do get up to speed it loses power at the most inopportune time I have been in several near accidents due to the engine not running properly. The codes that have been coming up. And the check engine suggestions. Have been tested by four different mechanics none of which could fall find a problem till recently. And I'm being told that the turbo boost code is been caused by faulty wiring which is happened to be totally replaced. As per my other statement I am having it repaired tomorrow but not being reimbursed. And if other 2013 Ford Escape drivers have had this issue there may be some unrecorded desk due to the engine stalling on the highway and the inconsistent running up the engine when these codes pop up. The codes are also sporadic as I said in my other statement. One time you turn the car on and have a problem shut it off and the next time the codes are cleared. I have been living with this daily for a month.

Engine stalled on major freeway. Mechanic and Ford diagnosed it with the turbocharger failing. Ie; literally came apart. The catalytic converters are now also damaged due to the turbocharger failing and gif knows what else. There were no codes, the engine system, stated that there were no errors.

Constantly loses coolant fluid and engine stalls at times, I understand Ford has recalled this year and model for this, but they keep telling me our VIN# is not on recall list, but it is doing what they have recalled other same year same models for.

Tl the contact owns a 2013 Ford Escape. While driving various speeds, the engine stalled while driving various speeds. The dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure mileage was 90,000.

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Escape. While driving 45 mph, the engine stalled and the low coolant warning indicator illuminated. The contact pulled over to the side of the road. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The contact replaced the coolant in the vehicle. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. 2013 Ford kuga 60,000 km. Automatic transmission. Engine stalls at random while driving. Stalls both at high and low speeds. Has been into dealer for service for two months, for the first 7 weeks they "could not fix it because they could not find an error code". After I drove it in a circle around the dealer for hours I was able to show them the problem and they obtained an error code, 'solenoid'. Ford says "maybe just replace whole transmission because we're not sure of the problem".

The engine will randomly stall and turn off displaying the red oil lamp and red battery light. This happens when the car is cold and has just turned on, and started to move.

On four different occasions, the vehicle was being driven by accelerating from a stop. Seconds after beginning to accelerate, the engine appeared to stall. All ip lights went out and engine lost power. Moments after this power loss, all lights came back on and vehicle was able to be driven normally. This vehicle has had an extensive repair/recall campaign history. This was reported during a service visit and no problem was found. The problem occured three more times.

Two problems. 1. ) remote start not working properly. It shuts itself off within 30seconds due to corrosion on negative terminal wiring to battery. Unknown cause why the corrosion would occur on my battery. I take care of my car and it is in the garage when not in use. 2. ) engine suddenly stopped while driving. Unknown reason. Told that I need to have a software upgrade done to the computer system on my car, but not told if this would fix the stalling 100%. Unclear why I would need to pay for an upgrade so my engine does not stall when driving. The car should work and drive without stalling. If I need a upgrade to the computer engine software so the car will not stall then I would expect this to be covered by Ford on a recall. This was very scary and dangerous to have your car suddenly stop working while driving without any prior warning. I did not get any signals that the engine was going to stop, it just stopped suddenly while driving on a city street after leaving work.

The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where the technician was unable to duplicate the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 76,000.

This engine has been stalling. It seems to stall when slowing for a turn or an intersection. I seen there was a recall issued for some Escapes with the same year as mine. Why were not all Escapes recalled for this condition?.
