Between the period of July and Aug '18 the vehicle exhibited the following: lurching forward while in-motion (city driving) - on more than one occasion rattling like noise on start-up noise when backing up resistance while reversing I attempted to bring it in, 8/1, and was told there were no issues found I returned on 8/13 and the vehicle has been in for repair since as they continue to find new issues (original issue: short engine block replacement) I have done research and there are many 2018 Ford Escapes with this same issue. This car is unsafe to drive. Please note, the car was also in June - July '18 for head gasket leak.

Bought car in 7/18 with 33000 miles on it. Drove it for 8000 . Then experienced a cloud of gray smoke and rough running upon starting after car was parked for 2 days. Also a loud clunk when reversing more than 3 ft. Also info panel stated that an oil change was needed. Called dealer as had 2000 more miles to go before the next scheduled oil change. Was told to ignore info screen and keep original oil change schedule. 4 to 5 days later the check engine light came on and took car to dealer. Dealer stated that the head gasket is leaking antifreeze into the cylinders and motor needs to be replaced. Under warranty and was promised to have it fixed by mid July, 2019. Now dealer states it could be much later than that. I had to call Ford corporation customer service to get any type of replacement vehicle as dealer states he doesn't have anything available (probably due to backlog of Escape blown head gaskets). Have researched online and found many testimonials this same issue . Is it time for Ford to make a recall?.
Upon taking my car in for the recall, I was notified on 12/19/2012 that the oil gasket was leaking. To date ( 1/2/13) sarat Ford in agawam MA still does not have the parts or any idea when my car will be fixed. It has 3100 miles on it and I purchased it in late September 2012.
