My vehichle had been making a noise and started letting out a gray smoke from te exhaust. I took it into the dealership and they said it was leaking "oil" into the motor and I needed a new engine. That they did not know where the problem was coming from therefore Ford approved a new engine replacement sice I am still under warranty ( 31,000 miles). Even if a new engine is replaced. The fact that they do not know where the vehicle is leaking oil from still does not rule out that this problem can happen again and when. Also every time I come to a stop my car turns off and does not turn back on when I release the brake. When is Ford going to finally say recall these vehicles???? I have young children I drive every single day. . My children's safety in on the line here. Do Ford ceo's realize that? do Ford ceo's have children? grandchildren? maybe their children/grandchildren should ride in these faulty vehicles and be put at risk and then maybe they will re think their decision of recalling !!!!!!!!.
Just driving and all of a sudden loud metal noise. Then intermittent metal scraping sound. Took it to the shop and they said it's an axel and transmission problem. It will cost more to repair than the car is worth. I still owe 2 years of payments. Terrible absolutely terrible. On a city street coming to a stop at a light traveling approximately 25mph. No accident or anything just driving slow coming to a stop.

Tl-the contact owns a 2010 Ford Escape. The contact stated that while driving at 75 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact was able to coast over to the side of the road. And turn the hazard light on, shifting into neutral while attempted to restart the vehicle, but it failed to start. The contact quickly shifted into park and powered off the engine. The started that when attempted to restart the vehicle, the engine sounded as if was about to start but it failed to start. The vehicle was towed to the contact residence. The contact stated that a friend of the family google the failure and it was indicated to reset the fuel pump switch which was located on the front passenger side. The fuel pump switch was reset; the vehicle was able to drive. In another occasion, the contact stated that while driving and when slowing down the vehicle hesitated to stop. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or an independent mechanic for a diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 137,000. Aw.

I was driving on a residential road on 11-24-18, on my way home when I hear a vibrating noise. I think it is my phone, but all of a sudden the car stalls. Thankfully I had no cars behind me so I power it down and then tune it back on and it gives a little issue turning back on but does. I make it home. It works fine the next few days. On 11-27-18 after only driving locally in between I take my Ford on the highway to go to the airport 30 mins away and all is fine until the ride back home on the highway. I hear the vibrating noise again as if I was going over rumble strips on 95. The car goes on a little longer and then shuts down again. Power remains on but the car stalls. I am taking it in today. I hope to get this resolved as fast as possible. I bought a new car for a reason. Reliability and now I am just annoyed that this is happening with only 32k miles on the 2016 Escape.

I turned from the parking lot intersection in eagle run shopping center, NW of wendy's, from west to south onto the parking lot road that accesses the w maple rd & birch st intersection. I completed my turn and drove south down the parking lot access road to the w maple & birch st intersection where the traffic light was red. I came to a complete stop to wait for a green light. I stopped a ways back from the median curb of the intersection to allow for turning traffic from the west. Shortly later, while waiting for the light to change, I noticed a vibration of the car and looked at the tachometer which showed 1,200 rpm & rising (600rpm is normal). Immediately the car began to physically lunge forward with increased engine noise so I instinctively placed more pressure on the brake pedal which had no affect. The car's engine was now racing wide open & I had no control of the car's rapidly increasing forward motion. At this point, to avoid a catastrophic accident by being pulled into traffic at the intersection, I steered to the right towards the shoulder hitting the traffic light pole with the brake applied the entire time.
Engine was making odd noise, red light appeared on instrument panel. Driver pulled to side of road. Car began smoking. Driver exited vehicle. Driver called 911 and waved for help. Vehicle burst into flames approximately 30 second after driver exited vehicle. Car completely burned.
The first time this happened I was driving home and turned onto a street as I accelerated the vehicle slowed down. I had my foot as low as the pedal would go and it would not move. I switched it to park turned it off and back on and it started up and was fine at accelerating. So the second time this happened about a month later I was driving about 30mph when my Escape slowed down and completely stalled out while I was driving on a very busy street. I pushed so far on the accelerator that the pedal was as low as it could go but still no movement. I quickly switched it into park turned off the vehicle and tried turning it back on but it just made the noise like it was trying to start. So I tried again and it finally turned on, switched to drive and was able to get off the street as a semi was flying up behind me. Very scary moment in my life. I googled about the issue and found that an investigation is going on regarding the throttle on 2012 Escapes. I think my vehicle may be a part of this.

Vehicle with approximately 4000 miles stalls while driving. The vehicle has stalled 3 times in the last 15 days, twice while driving on major roads with average speed being about 45 mph. The vehicle literally just turns off. It doesn't shake, jerk, make any noise, nothing, just turns off. I get a message that says "engine fault service now. " it is a very scary situation to experience. Since the car just dies at full speed the momentum of the car keeps the car moving but obviously at a much slower pace. This last Sunday, July 14, 2013 the car stalled on a very busy, major road, so I was in a very close call for an accident. The cars behind me did not see my hazard lights on and didn't realize I had stalled. All I heard was the screeching of brakes behind me. I was getting yelled at, flipped off, you name it, but there was nothing I could do but hope that the momentum would be enough to allow me to pull over to right lane until I could come to a stop in a safe place. On July 11, 2013, I took it to the dealer, they replaced the map sensor and said the problem was fixed. When it stalled again on the sun, 7/14/13, I took another day off work to take the car back to the dealership. They tell me it needs another 2 parts due to technical service bulletin 137-5. Now I'm waiting for the parts to come in as they are on a nationwide back order. I understand lemon law requires the same thing to happen 3-4 times however I don't want to risk the 3rd or 4th time being the time I don't make it. Please help. What can I do?.
While driving home from louisville headed back to cincinnati my daughter experienced our vehicle stalling out at highway speeds 3 different times. She was able to work her way over to the side of the road and restart the vehicle each time. However this was very scary as at highway speeds the sudden loss of power and speed caused traffic to almost rear end her vehicle on two of the three ocassions. When I contacted the local Ford dealer upon safely returning home they made it sound like it was an issue with the throttle body and that this is a very common problem in these vehicles. I was also told by my son that I needed to report this because this is a widespread problem. He did a quick google search and was able to see the investigation into this issue. Please do something about this before there is innocent loss of life.
I was driving and all of a sudden my 2007 Ford Escape starting making noise. . I pulled to a gas station where we found no oil in the truck. Not at anytime did my oil light or even my engine come on. . . My engine is blown. Now I am going to try to get my warranty to get it fixed. . That should be a "fun" experience.

My wife was driving my son to school and going to work. All of a sudden the car started making a noise, the engine and battery lightcame on and the car shut down. She was in the middle of traffic. She then started the car again and she was able to pull into a gas station. The car again shut down. We had it towed to the Ford service dealer. They examined it and said that our motor was dead and the engine flooded. This is the first incident we have had with the car. The Ford service person quoted us for a new motor 3800. . For used and 5400 for a new one. Two days later he upped the price to 4800 for a used one. I asked for specifics to the failure but was not given one. Again, I have had plenty of oil changes and inspection with nothing indicating a problem. My mechanic checked it an is replacing it for less. I really believe their is some issues with this car.
