37 Suspension problem of the 2009 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 12/15/2023

Driving at 40mph the front right wheel collapsed due to the sub frame failure (rusted out and separated}. I understand that Ford did not treat the frame member for rust properly causing catastrophic failure. Fortunately it did not cause an accident or personal injury. Talking to my mechanic he said it is a common problem in 2004-2012 Ford Escapes, Mercury mariners, and masda tributes.

38 Suspension problem of the 2010 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 10/30/2023

I had exhaust work done, 2010 Ford Escape, and shop pointed out huge rust hole in ''subframe'' (engine cradle) this has been hundred thousand recalls but not all model years, yet they all have the same fault. Ford recall only puts a cheap ''brace'' on it but it is not a repair!! what kind of country allows these maggots to threaten the driver with complete !! loss of steering control and yet not require repair for faulty frames? they did the half-ass repair on 2001 to 2004 but all years up to 2012 have this, and the ''brace '' in cheapo b s.

41 Suspension problem of the 2011 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 09/13/2023

The power steering went out on us several times, but this last time, I was almost in a accident. Also, it has a rubbing/ grinding sound in the front with a shimmy and no matter what,it won't quit.

42 Suspension problem of the 2008 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 09/01/2023

I have a constant issue with the power steering. This issue makes it hard for my vehicle to turn properly as well as when you go to turn a corner you have to be a body builder to get the car to even turn. At times I can't even drive my car because it gets so bad. Along with this issue I also have a wheel bearing issue in the front suspension. To me this issue feels like my whole car is going to rattle apart while I am driving it. To add to it, the propulsion system, it has a constant whine, tries to stall, and sometimes it will not get up to speed nor gain speed. There has been times when I am driving my car that I have to pull over to the side of the road very carefully because I feel like my car is going to die and then when I turn it off and then back on it acts like it has absolutely no power. I haven't gone anywhere to get my vehicle checked yet. But I have done extensive research on the issues that I am having with my vehicle and the three main issues are a recall for same year and same year make and model.

44 Suspension problem of the 2009 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 08/04/2023

Was informed during inspection the subframe is rusted very badly and could fail. In doing research the 2009 Ford Escape has had these recalled for this specific reason that the subframe components were not properly coated causing rust and failure. My VIN isn't on the list after speaking to Ford. My next step is to address you to see if it needed to get added as it is exact nature of the original 2006 subframe recall that mine is not a part of yet needs to be.

45 Suspension problem of the 2010 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 08/01/2023

A/c drain line located above the crossmember(engine cradle-#9l8z-5c145-a) caused it to prematurely rot on the passenger side of the vehicle. Issue was discovered during a routine oil change. Crossmember rot is directly above lower control arm attachment point. In the event of total failure, it would result in loss of control of the vehicle. The driver's side of the crossmember does not have any signs of corrosion.

46 Suspension problem of the 2011 Ford Escape

47 Suspension problem of the 2021 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 06/02/2023

I was driving and turned right and the issue started. Pulled over to a safe place and notice d rear wheel bracket was broken. Towed to dealer. The dealer insisted I hit something I did not. The car has less than 8600 miles. I could not believe this was not covered under warranty. In addition, the fuel injection recall there are no parts available and waiting list. I am trading the car in as this is the second time the car has broken down on the roadside. I no longer feel safe in the vehicle.

Failure Date: 06/01/2023

Hello, the engine cradle subframe on my 2005 Ford Escape has completely rusted through on the right hand side where it attaches to the steering control arm. As I was driving the subframe broke which made it impossible to steer the car. This pulled my car off the road to the passenger side. Fortunately I was not injured. Having now researched this issue, it is a common problem with 2005 Ford Escapes. This is very dangerous, and it should be addressed as it creates a life threatening situation.

50 Suspension problem of the 2006 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 05/29/2023

This 2006 Ford Escape hybrid, and all first and second generation (2001-2012) Escape models, were designed and built with a significant, known defect in the mating area and materials used for the rear floor pan, rear sub-assembly/rails, and rear inner fender liners/upper shock absorber mounts, all made of pressed steel. The design of the components renders them subject to trapping road debris/salt/contaminants, and the inferior steel used oxidizes quickly, resulting in perforated areas of substantial rust. In our 2006 model, the right rear inner fender liner was completely replaced, and the rear subassembly/rails were welded, in 2013 with new Ford parts. By may, 2018, it had to be repaired and welded again. As of may, 2013, five years almost to the day, it has again rusted and separated. As this hybrid Escape carries a 600 pound battery between the rails in the rear of the vehicle, this is a substantial, dangerous defect affecting potentially millions of cars manufactured over a decade. The current status of the oxidation, corrosion, rot and decay affecting our Ford Escape has rendered it incapable of being repaired per the auto mechanic shop we visited first, followed by the body shop we visited next. Both indicated that the poor design combined with the steel used contributed to the dangerous vehicle it has become.

51 Suspension problem of the 2020 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 05/22/2023

I bought the car in February, 2021. 11 months later the rear shocks had both failed and were replaced by dealer on 01/13/2022, at 9572 miles. One year later the shocks have again failed! Ford has refused to cover them under warranty, claiming that shock failure in one year is normal wear. This is a severe safety issue that affects vehicle handling and it needs to be addressed.

52 Suspension problem of the 2010 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 05/04/2023

Had an alternator problem , had vehicle towed to garage for repair. When I picked the owner of the garage there is significant rust to the suspension. I inspected the damage my self and found the "suspension part" that holds the strut was just about rusted through. I researched the web and found out that there were plenty of others who have the same.

56 Suspension problem of the 2014 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 02/24/2023

I've been having rear suspension issues, due to the fact I just had to replace my rear shocks on my 2014 Ford Escape titanium. I recently got my rear shocks replaced through goodyear in bartow, FL. About 2-3 weeks ago & had to return to goodyear again 3 different times in this month of February of 2023 to tighten up the rear passenger side. I'm told by mechanic techs at goodyear that it appears I might be having "control bar" issues on this 2014 model & it being not the rear shocks after all. But I'm having to replace the front end with new struts as well. I feel it is neccessary to let anyone having the same issue with the suspension on my 2014 Ford Escape needs to investigate this!.

57 Suspension problem of the 2009 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 01/12/2023

Power steering completely out of my car, making turning in any direction difficult. Causing safety concerns as it has already caused exterior cosmetic damage while turning into the driveway and not being able to turn in as quickly as I was needing to get out of the traffic cause me to scrape approx. 12- 16inch onto my driver's /left sidebumper/fender. I have also felt loss of power, or a struggle to accelerate. Conditions are worsening as time goes by. As if my transmission is slipping. Power steering assist light has turned on. It may have also resulted in poor alignment causing even more damage to tires and suspension. I took to the local Ford dealership to check, as there are 100,000 recalls for the exact issues on vehicles with the same year make and model as mine, according to my VIN number, my vehicle was not included in these recalls. I was forced to pay nearly 100. 00 out of pocket for these test to be ran. The test shows many faults including confirmation of power steering assist at fault and failing torque. Not only has this cause a domino effect of concerns with my vehicles safety, it has caused many outburst of emotional distress as it is hard for me to continue to drive my vehicle.

58 Suspension problem of the 2006 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 01/02/2023

Well to put it lightly my rear axial the whole rear end is a mess this did not happen from normal were there is not that many miles I am very confident that if I was mot train on how to control a car if it were to go out of control at a high speed this would be a whole different story just thank how many are still on the road this year 2006 Escape is a ticking time ??.

60 Suspension problem of the 2020 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 11/18/2022

November 18, 2022 had my car for 22 months when I took it for oil change I reported a noise when turning the steering wheel. Ford mechanics decided it the front shocks. Part # lx6z18124eq was ordered at that time. As of today 3/8/2023 it is still on back order. The noise is getting louder. I have been in contact with Ford which has expedited the part about 3 - 4 weeks ago. Still not at dealership. I have never had so much problems with a new car. Ford denied the buy back or lemon law for FL stating it was after the 24 month warranty which is false. I’m wondering what else can I do if anything.

61 Suspension problem of the 2006 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 11/15/2022

About a week after I bought this car and I bought it used but the abs light came on I took it to have it check out and was told the complete suspendtion system front and back was shot and that it all had to be fix I don't have the money for that I am a disabled veteran and I am scraping by as it is.

62 Suspension problem of the 2006 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 11/01/2022

The rear shock mount rusts out not long after manufacture and we the consumer are left with the pile of poop. Ford is highly aware of this problem, and as I transport my children daily I wonder if this will be the day we die. Upon the shock mount rusting out, hope youre religious and god is your CO pilot because as that point the spring is what you're left with! its so horse crap Ford leaves this to the little guy (the consumers) to rectify their problem due to their inferior manufacturing. I was going over the i280 bridge in oregon ohio when it decided it was time to fail.

63 Suspension problem of the 2012 Ford Escape

64 Suspension problem of the 2015 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 10/10/2022

Ford Escape had a history of transmission issues prior to the 2015 vehicle I purchased used in Feb 2018. I was told the rough shifting and vehicle skipping (which started gradually the winter of 2021/2022) can be a hardware, software, shutter or torque problem. Even though there are class actions suits to resolve the software and hardware problems, Ford has not provided any assistance, instead expecting me to replace the transmission at my expense quoting the highest repair price despite not having an actual diagnostic which they also expect me to pay $169. 00 for.

65 Suspension problem of the 2022 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 10/03/2022

The SUV when driving about 45 mph and go to place the brakes the car shakes and when you back up it is a real loud high shril sound took it to Ford and they wont return the car I can not take anymore I am tired I have had problems since I first purchase the Ford SUV I am disgusted fuel injections transmission back breaks problems I want to return the car please contact me [xxx] [xxx] note: they supposedly fixed the problems but there is still fuel injection leakages and transmissions and back brake assistance problems still to this day Ford has not fixed the problems and allowing me to drive on the road with a unsafe car and endangering others/children on the road back in 2020 there was a recall on this car and the dealership apparently did not fix the problems sold me this car 2022 July bad brakes, transmissions, fuel injections problems and seat belts for child are bad the car shakes one example in July 2023 the car suddenly stopped and shut off luckily I was slowing down at a red light I expressed this to the Ford dealership in falls church va and they just shrugged me off information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

Ingine light/suspension lights went on. Car jerks and shakes on the road and pulls to the right making it hard to keep the steering wheel straight.

67 Suspension problem of the 2013 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 09/08/2022

The electric power assist stopped working and almost caused my wife to hit another car. You cannot steer this car if the power assist isn't working, lots of complaints about this issue but nobody is checking into it, if this isn't a safety problem than there isn't any reason for you to be in business for you are not recognizing a serious problem, I know a little door latch is important but no where close to this problem. Can you imagine going down the road at 60 miles per hour and your steering goes out. Also the cross over on the rear suspension must be made of low grade tin for it has completely rotted away, this crossover holds the rear suspension. I know nothing will happen with this but at least I got to vent, thanks.
