1 Sway Bar problem of the 2002 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 12/10/2015

There is a recall on my car. 14s02. I had it towed to fuller Ford in cinti, ohio. When the recall broke in my car, rusted through frame. It caused other damage to my car. I need a passenger side axle, lower control arm, and a sway bar link. Ford will not cover these damages even though the recall caused the damage. Just thank goodness I had just gotten off the highway and was coming to a stop or I could have been killed. I dont believe Ford is taking care of their issue. A frame should not rust through.

2 Sway Bar problem of the 2003 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 11/16/2015

Tl-the contact owns a 2003 Ford Escape. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, there were abnormal noises coming from the front of the vehicle. In addition, both front tires leaned inwards. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the front control arm, sway bar and tie rods needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. However, the mechanic also stated that the subframe had corroded and needed to be replaced. The contact stated that a week later, while reversing at a low speed, the contact heard a loud noise coming from the front of the vehicle. Upon inspection, the contact noticed that the control arm and axle had fractured. The contact was aware of NHTSA campaign number: 14v165000 (structure) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 90,470. Oo.

3 Sway Bar problem of the 2002 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 12/19/2014

My 2002 Ford Escape has been to multiple dealer service centers and mechanics to try to pinpoint a banging noise that comes from the front right side when driving over bumps or potholes at lower speeds. To date I have had tie rods, sway bars, sway bar links, ball joints replaced and all body mounts, engine mounts, control arms, shocks and struts all checked and all nuts and bolts tightened. I have not been able to have a mechanic tell me what the issue is. I have searched the internet and see several complaints all for the same problem. I know my truck is not the only one, however I cannot afford to continue replacing parts in hopes that we might finally find the cause of the sound. I feel Ford needs to take responsibility for whatever it is that is failing before someone ends up seriously injured.

4 Sway Bar problem of the 2010 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 07/15/2010

From day 1, 365 miles, as I turned left on a wide turn or short tight turn I hear a clunk noise felt in the floor boards. After 10,000 miles I can make it do it on command. Only left turns. Ford has replace sway bar bushings and only lasts 2-3 days, noise returns. This will be the 3rd attempt to put "frame ears" on to determine source of noise. Maybe I should stop turning left?.

5 Sway Bar problem of the 2001 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 10/29/2004

I noticed a knocking noise when driving over railroad tracks, bumpy roads. I took it to the shop and was told the shock and strut on drivers side and sway bar links needed to replaced. This vehicle is a 2001 Ford Escape with 50,000 miles and should not need these repairs this early. The shock and strut on drivers side as well as sway bar links replaced.
