1 Strut Tower problem of the 2005 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 10/07/2017

Was driving at 40 miles an hour hit slight bump in road. Sounded like whole back end falling off with loud bang. Stopped got out checked back end on right rear subframe holding strutt tower had seperated from frame causing shock and housing to come up inside of car. This complaint has been brought to Fords attention. An they refuse to do anything about it. They should be made to fix this as many people are being forced to get rid of a good vehicle that would still be drivable if this was repaired. We shouldn;t be forced to get rid of a good car because they don;t want to make it right. I am filing this complaint like many others have I hope you just don't file it away. They honored this problem in 2001-2004 but then after that ended recalls for it this is not right.

2 Strut Tower problem of the 2005 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 01/28/2014

I am here to write an incident about my my right rear suspension breaking away from the strut tower support bracket. It was all rusted out. The left side of the car is fine. I have seen quite a lot of these same problems on the internet. When we took our car in to the Ford dealership they called it a catastrophic failure. Car was unsafe too drive. We feel this is a safety concern for owners of this vehicle and, the public.

3 Strut Tower problem of the 2004 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 11/01/2013

Rattling noise coming from the rear of the vehicle. Daughter took me for a ride and I sat in the rear of the vehicle to try and find the source of the rattling. Checked the storage compartment for the spare, all other parts and could not determine the source. The next day the noise was much more pronounced. Took it to a body shop and they immediately found the source of the problem, that being a totally rusted out shock/strut tower. The body shop manager said he has seen this on multiple Escapes. He refused to quote the job as he did not want to be liable in case it did not work out.
