1 Tire problem of the 2015 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 10/01/2025

My Ford Escape was fitted with two cooper tires (235/55 r 17) that had to be replaced with less than 20k miles on them. After using the tires in normal city/highway situations, both tires started to bulge causing vibration when driving the vehicle. This was due to the belts breaking within the tire. While this specific tire is not currently under recall, I believe it should be. There is no reason these tires should've worn out so quickly and it sounds like the exact same issue many of their other tires currently under recall have. They are well under their warranty of 80k miles, but I will not put another cooper tire on my car. I've only included the tin from one tire, because I do not have the tin for the first one that bulged. It has already been removed and disposed of. This happened to both of my coopers in each rear position of my car.

This happened to all of my tires that were not even 3 years old yet. I purchased my used vehicle from anderson Nissan in lake havasu city az a year and a half ago. The scorpion perilli tires 235 45/r19 on my vehicle seemed to be like new. Starting in December is when I started to have problems my low tire pressure light came on and I took it to America tire company in cathedral city CA and they put air in the tires told me if I had any issues with the tires to bring it back. I had to return several times 8 times regarding the low tire pressure. There was a small leak between the tire and rim when they submerged the tire in the water and it took me the customer to find the problem. I thought they had fixed the issue. January 2025 came around had issues again then I took it back in they found a nail in it. They put a patch on it. I had to take it back 8 more times after that. Leading up to [xxx] my low tire pressure light came on again pulled in they put air in my tires. Last month in August I had to take it back in for the low tire pressure light which was a Saturday made the appt for Monday and they had to replace my tire due to they could not fix it. It had a small hole next to the patch and had another screw it. When I got home I had taken pictures of all my tires and noticed they had splits in all the grooves all the way around the tire and the middle of the tread of tires. The were manufactured defect tires and I had to take my car back to America tire company to have them all replaced. They told me that if the tires are not safe we do not let you leave the store. They let me leave the store on the tires that look like that. I travel from CA to az and I did not feel safe. No lawyer will take the case if you have not been injured or in an accident. 9 Tire problem of the 2008 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 04/15/2024

Tire size: p235/70 r16 since April, 2024 this tire started inflated every week. After 2-3 weeks trial I decided to take it to the tire shop, after they tested it, no error was detected. Then they told me that technically this tire is defected. It costed me $75-90. 00 bucks just for the diagnostics. At that point, I did not have a choice but to buy a new tire. The new tire cost me another $140. 00+, before down time and a waste of energy. Time is everything in this country. Thank you,.

10 Tire problem of the 2008 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 04/12/2024

Tire size: p235/70r16 104t in the first week of April, 2024, the rear passenger side tire was showing low air. I took it to a tire shop close by. They checked it and could not find any defection, except air. They inflated and balanced it. I started driving it hoping everything would be ok. After 3 days the same thing happened. Again, I took it to a different tire shop, and they took their time and thoroughly checked, no nails or air leak at all. At that point and after I told them the history of the tire, they suggested that it is a manufacturer's defect or it is a defected tire. More over, the tire guy advised me to contact the NHTSA or the manufacturer. On top the purchasing price, I spent $60. 00 for inspection, the purchasing price was $112. 50, from walmart. In conclusion, I purchased a new tire and replaced it, and costed me to mount it. I did not have a choice, and I kept the bad tire. I had to go through all these, because of the defected tire, or the manufacturer's fault. I cant't live without or I do everything with my car, and I have only 1 car. Car is a big part of my/our daily life in America. You guys can take it from here. That is all. Thank you.

14 Tire problem of the 2014 Ford Escape

Failure Date: 05/17/2023

I would like to voice concern about the 2 pc lugnuts that Ford places on vehicles. They are not good & after doing some research & talking with other suppliers and companies regarding this matter, it is my understanding this is an ongoing issue that Ford continues to ignore. This is not safe. My tire had a slow leak in it. I took it to a local tire shop who advised the tire could not be fixed because the tear was in the sidewall. They also advised the lugnuts were swollen & in terrible condition & then went on to show me the lugnuts & educate me on the design that Ford has. The reason for the terrible condition is likely because the nuts have to be beaten off unless the work is done at Ford, as they have special tooling & capabilities to deal with the nut. He also advised, instead of recalling, Ford opted to come out with a special tool or tooling that is specific to only their dealers. Not ok. Not all people want to use Ford for their tire needs. Nobody should ever take one opinion at face value. I went to another local tire shop to make sure the info I was given about my tire and the lugnuts was correct. However, when I went, I made no mention that I already had the first opinion, nor did I share any of the info with the 2nd company. Same information was repeated to me, both about the lugnuts & my tire. Very concerning on the lug nuts & I now believe this to be accurate. This place felt so bad for me & for the condition the nuts were in, that they put gently used ones on 1 of my tires, free of charge, just because they had the tire off to look at it & knew the Ford ones were total "garbage". As of today, I went to my local Ford dealer for a tire rotation & oil change. Low & behold, they mention all of my lug nuts are swollen & that I need new. I voiced concern to the service manager about the lugnut information. He & the service advisor both advised that yes, this was an ongoing complaint & it was bad for them too. This is ridiculous & I complained to Ford also.

Failure Date: 03/22/2023

Both rear tires have broken belts at 26,700 miles. I have the tires if want to inspect. Dealer confirmed they are bad - takes no responsibility for warranty. I just had vehicle at dealer to fix under warranty rear brakes. Did not notice problem at that time. No warning lamps. Noticeable from increased noise level when driving. I have no idea why they should have failed. I suspect a manufacturing defect.

2 tires from same lot on brand new car have been defective in one month's time, causing blowout on freeway at high speed. Thankfully, no injuries were incurred. This happened 100 miles away from nearest services, requiring tow to nearest dealership. Ford motor company replaced each defective tire at time of incidents; however, 2 remaining tires will not be covered for replacement until such time as they become defective. I am concerned that the entire lot number is defective and that I may incur the same problem in the future with the remaining 2 tires with possible loss of life as a result.
