The contact owns a 2005 Ford Excursion. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled without warning. The failure was repetitive with the illumination of the check engine warning light. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the contact was advised that the fuel injectors, pressure regulator and valve assembly modulator needed to be replaced. The repairs were performed but did not correct the failure. The contact referenced NHTSA campaign id number: 05v270000 (electrical system: wiring) which required replacing the fuel injection control module and injection control pressure sensor but the vehicle was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was 90,000 and the current mileage was 114,000.

2 Alternator/generator/regulator problem of the 2003 Ford Excursion

Failure Date: 09/20/2009

The contact owns a 2003 Ford Excursion XLT. The contact stated while idling, the alternator failed and destroyed the gauge cluster. As a consequence no information is visible on the display of the instrument control panel. The dealer was contacted, and a technician concluded that the instrument cluster needed to be replaced at an expense of $500. 00. No repairs have been made. The failure mileage was 90,000. The current mileage was unknown.

Failure Date: 02/07/2008

The contact owns a 2003 Ford Excursion. While the vehicle was being serviced for an oil change, the dealer stated that the alternator wiring harness needed to be replaced. The alternator was overloaded from the battery being plugged up to the travel trailer. The icp sensor was replaced. The cost for parts and labor was $1,062. 25. 5 Alternator/generator/regulator problem of the 2004 Ford Excursion

Failure Date: 01/27/2007

The contact owns a 2004 Ford Excursion. While driving between 35-40 mph, the vehicle stalled and then shut off. The vehicle was towed to a mechanic and they replaced the number 1 and number 3 fuel injectors. The dealer stated that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign id number 05v270000 (electrical system:wiring). The current mileage was 130,994 and failure mileage was 108,480.
