Tamara recall while driving or stopped the cars power does 100% shut off. No codes or warning lights. In Dec/2016 driving on a on a east on charleston blvd in nv, after pulling out of cit bank parking lot going about 45 mph the light turned red and when I went to break the pedal was hard and that's when I saw no power. By then it was too late and we were going to crash. I had no power steering or abs and I hit the car. It caused 12000 of damage to the car in front of me. No airbags deployed. Only bumper and fog light damage to my truck thankfully. After that the problem didn't re accur until 2/2017 and left me stranded over night on the road and now last night 5/13/2017 the car was off no keys in the ignition and I saw smoke that came from where the battery sits not sure what that was but odd it was. It has no rhythmic pattern, I have replaced the battery fuses relay and fuel pump, also checked cam shaft and crank sensor. It has spark gas air and compression. It's a very large and heavy death trap when it's not working properly other wise I love my truck and it need to be fixed.

Over the last 1 1/2 year, veh dies and wont restart or slower to start eventually will not start. All gauges go full tilt, abs light comes on, loss of all electrical systems, will not restart, just clicks, then nothing. Have to disconnect and fully recharge batteries to restart,,,, then,,,, problem recurs in few weeks. New batteries 11/07, cam shaft sensor replaced 3/07. Code p0603.
We have the exact part that is in recall for several other vehicles that Ford produces and is causing fire under the hood. When we took our Excursion to a Ford dealer they deactivated the speed control deactivation switch. This was done because we also have some oil leak in our cam shaft position sensor which was recalled and the two problem can cause a fire. Even though this is the exact part that is recalled in other vehicles they are not recalling it in the larger trucks. So now I have no cruise control feature because of the deactivation. Speed control deactivation switch, Ford just deactivated it since my vehicle is not on the list. Same part, same #,.

I own a 2004 Ford Excursion which has on two occasions failed to start and was towed to fairview Ford. The first occurrence the dealer replaced the camshaft sensor and reflashed the computer. The second incident the car was also towed by roadside assistance from my driveway. The tow truck driver was also unable to start the vehicle. I was contacted later in the day by my service advisor saying that the vehicle started fine and they were unable to duplicate the problem. On a third occurrence the vehicle stalled in a parking lot and would not restart for my wife. After shopping for approximately 45 minutes my wife returned and was able start the vehicle and it was driven strait to the dealer. The dealer was again unable to duplicate the problem. I have also given fairview Ford six attempts to fix misaligned doors that are visibly misaligned and cause the door to have to be slammed to close them. The doors were misaligned when purchased and the dealer is unable to fix them. At one point after the dealer tried to align the front drivers side door I could stick my fingers in between the door and the body all the way to the outside with the door closed. The vehicle has been in the shop a total of 35 days and now has 16k miles. My wife is afraid to drive the vehicle with my three young children for fear of stalling and causing an accident.
