The contact pulled over and restarted the vehicle, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who determined that the throttle body needed to be replaced. The contact replaced the throttle body; however, while driving, the vehicle made an abnormally loud sound. The contact inspected the vehicle and discovered that the throttle body hose clamp had detached. The contact reconnected the hose clamp, but the failure persisted. The vehicle was not repaired. Dealer has diagnosed throttle body failure which is well documented with these vehicles and known the the NHTSA even though there is no recall and no extended warranty for this particular vehicle (though there is for others).
