Summary: water leaked around the left side of windshield causing electrical failures, including but not limited to the starter, radio, windshield wipers, headlamps, etc. The water entering the vehicle wet the power distribution box (pdb) and the generic electronic module (gem). These components control various electrical systems in the vehicle. The vehicle continued to attempt to start itself without any key in ignition until it resulted in the starter burning up as well as damaging associated wiring and battery. Vehicle's windshield had to be replaced as was the starter, associated wiring and battery after vehicle was towed to repair facility.

Vehicle's radio, heat remained on even with keys out of the ignition.
I received info from NHTSA that there are performance issues regarding my Ford Expedition. These include the failure of rear windshield wiper to work and failure of radio lights.
Heater coil was replaced five times. The dealer stated that radio was making the part defective. The coil went out again, and the vehicle was down. Manufacturer stated no more replacements.

2003 eddie bauer Expedition - we have the dvd player which was already in place when we purchased the vehicle. When the screen is down, it is almost impossible to see out the back window. I don't see how this can be legal, as it blocks the drivers view from approaching emergency vehicles, as is what happened to me the other day while driving with my children.

The radio fades from left to right and front to back slightly on its own. I have had this in for service 4 times and they can never find it, but when I leave my self and everyone who rides in it can hear the problem. This will keep me from buying again.
The radio component overheats to the extent that cassettes and cds are hot - not warm- to the touch. Other buttons on the dash are hot to touch. Dealer iinstalled a fan behind the radio to cool it down, but this did not solve the problem. . It only redistributed the heat. Climate control buttons are still hot to touch. Ford says this is "normal" and this is their solution. Seems like they only tried to take care of symptom, not solve a problem. Also, because fan is silent, we won't know if fan malfunctions until it's too late. Something's liable to melt.
