Transmission Slip Out Of Gear Problems of Ford Expedition

Tl-the contact owns a 2010 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that while the vehicle was idiling with the park engaged the vehicle shifted out of gear rolled backwards crashed into a steel post without warning, the front and rear passenger side doors were ajar. Additionally, the key fell out of the ignition switch. The occupant seated in the rear jumped out of the vehicle but sustained no injuries or medical attention. There was no fire or police report filed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated the vehicle was undriveable. My 2010 has jumped out of gear 4-5 times and most recently it jumped out and I missed the brake and hit the gas --the SUV ran into a building causing about 6-8k in damage. I know I put the Expedition in gear and the video/surveil. Tape shows that I did. . I am trading this pos ASAP!!!.

My 2002 Ford Expedition has always had transmission shifting problems. Over the years, it will sometimes not go out of 4x4 without some gentle coaxing. Just the other day, it shifted out of gear on the highway and the overdrive light started flashing. I started to hear a sound like I was dragging something. When I stopped, I had to drive it in manual 2 just to get it home. At home, it would not go into reverse and was acting like the front wheels were locked up when I put it in neutral. I have had shifting problems for the life of this vehicle (I have had it for 8 years. . . . ) this was the first time it has been this drastic. It looks like I will have to have a new transmission. . . . .

While returning from a fishing trip, my 2001 Ford Expedition with 28,000 miles on it, started not shifting out of second gear. The overdrive off light started to flash on the gear shift,and the check engine soon light came on. I shifted into 2nd and drove the remaining 50 miles at 45 mph. I unloaded my gear and drove it down to my dealer. The next day they called me and said I needed a new transmission,cost$3630. 00. Complained to Ford and was told there is nothing they could do for me. I can tell by your listed complaints I'm not the only one.

Consumer states: had car in park with slight incline, and left vehicle running ,and the vehicle slipped out of gear and went into reverse. No one was in the vehicle.

While parked on incline vehicle slipped out of park gear into reverse, and vehicle rolled back, and rolled over consumer's knees when trying to stop the vehicle. Dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem.
