1 Transmission Stuck In Gear problem of the 2019 Ford Expedition

Failure Date: 04/01/2021

Event occurs when vehicle is warmed up - transmission fluid temp > 205 and more likely to occur going uphill or on a slight incline on highway with a speed above 55 mph. When accelerating quickly or aggressively, the 10 speed transmission fails. I push down on the gas pedal while in the 10 gear. It seems like it is stuck in neutral, the engine rev's to the red line if I leave my foot on the pedal, the vehicle looses speed and eventually finds a gear between 2 and 6 and transmission re-engages. The vehicle will rev to the red line before finding a gear. This has created multiple dangerous situations in which a vehicular accident almost occurred due to the immediate loss of speed in highway traffic situations. The vehicle went from 83 mph to 55 in seconds before the transmission re-engages. I have take the car to the dealership twice and they can not recreate the issue in order to fix despite submitting numerous videos of the separate times in which the event occurs. Videos on 2/3/2021, 2/11/2021, 4/1/2021.

Failure Date: 05/01/2020

Tl- the contact owns a 2012 Ford Expedition. The contact stated while driving at various speeds the vehicle would erroneously down shift and jerk, the transmission had malfunctioned causing the gears to become stuck and the rpms to increase. At times the speedometer would fail to operate. Also on one occasion while driving the rear wheels suddenly seized causing the driver to loose control of the steering and drive off the road. The cause of the failures were not determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were not notified of the failures. The contact indicated that the VIN was not included in the NHTSA campaign number 16v248000(power train). The contact stated that the vehicle had experienced the same failure listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 65,000. Jft.

4 Transmission Stuck In Gear problem of the 2013 Ford Expedition

Failure Date: 06/16/2019

Today as I was driving on perry rd about to turn onto fm 1960 rd e. When I started to accelerate to turn, my transmission down shifted while I'm driving at about 15 miles an hour instead of going up and jerked my car pretty good. I let go of the gas pedal for a second, then tried again slowly. The car started to jerk as if it was struggling to accelerate forward. It did after about 10 seconds. Then the speedometer dropped down to 0 and my digital fuel information that's displayed on my dash dotted out and a screwdriver icon flashed for a few times. The car then started to move smoothly, but seemed stuck in gear. This followed with the tmps sensor kicking on. No check engine lights showed up during this period and when I got to where I was safe, I turned the car off for about 15 minutes. When I turned it on again, it was perfectly normal. This has happened before while I drove on a major highway and it is scary. No diagnostic test has found an issue and I cannot afford to pay for an exploratory service as I just did a coolant repair a couple of weeks ago.

5 Transmission Stuck In Gear problem of the 2012 Ford Expedition

Failure Date: 05/04/2017

My 2012 Expedition limited has 102,000 miles. It has began to downshift unexpectedly in the range of 15mph to approximately 30 mph. It seems to downshift then get stuck in a lower gear. The transmission slows you down unexpectedly, and won't allow you to increase speed until you pull over and let it go down to 0 mph then resume entering back into traffic. I have found sites like 360 legal which say Ford has a recall for a module to be reprogrammed, but Ford customer service states there in no such recall and no complaints have been made regarding this defect. It's very unsafe in traffic where you slow then give it gas to expect it to increase speed and it suddenly slows no matter how far you depress the gas pedal. The transmission revs up loudly as it you were increasing speed but yet your speed cannot increase. This has happen after slowing for traffic lights and accelerating again, when I pull out of my driveway and accelerate to drive away, and in the school zone at my child's school.

A few days later same thing happened again, this time was on a city street (20mph) and trans was stuck in 3rd gear.
