The engine is idling roughly especially just after I fill the gas tank. The fuel mileage has been steadily declining even though I've changed the spark plugs, coils, mass air flow sensor and air filter. The problem could be a defective fuel pump or something in the fuel system. There have even been occasions where the vehicle won't start immediately after I fill the gas tank until I've waited a few minutes.

Car only has 64k but has started leaking fuel, especially when the fuel tank is full. Fuel leak appears to be near right rear wheel and dangerously close to exhaust pipe. Repair shop estimates $1000 to replace fuel pump.

While driving on the highway an error message appeared on my dash, stating the "check fuel fill inlet " and engine light on. Had it repaired 9/28/17, fuel tank filler pipe and canister purge solenoid. On 10/25/17 back in the repair shop for same error message. They replaced the solenoid assy and valve assy. Now, once again, I have the same error (11/2/17). Goes back in the garage to repair on 11/8/17. We'll see what happens.

Tl the contact owns a 2011 Ford Explorer. While driving, the check engine warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to jones Ford casa grande (1932 n pinal Ave, casa grande, az 85122, (520) 836-3100) where it was diagnosed that the engine block was mixing with the oil. The vehicle was repaired. On another occasion, the power steering was locking consistently, and the interlock and advancetrac warning indicators illuminated. The failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer and was repaired again. The contact stated that the power assist warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the same dealer where the gears and alignment were reset. The contact also mentioned that the check engine warning indicator continued to illuminate. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer where it was determined that an unknown part needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure continued. The contact stated that the fuel filter neck assembly also needed to be replaced. The evaporator canister was replaced and the technician informed the contact that the fuel tank was leaking fuel. The vehicle was not repaired because the fuel tank was no longer manufactured by Ford. The contact stated that the vehicle remained at the dealer and was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. The failure mileage was approximately 48,000.
Exhaust smell in interior of vehicle. I typically drive with a/c or heat on (seasonally) and always use outside air (no re-circulation). Smell is more noticeable when idling at a stop light or otherwise not in motion. Have tried two service calls recently with no resolution. An additional related issue is an even stronger fuel smell in my garage. This is more of a pre-combustion smell. The dealer reported that this is normal as a result of the capless gas tank filter system. Definitely a health hazard for anyone entering the garage, and the smell gets into the house. These issues have persisted for the past 6-12 months, getting worse over time. To date, the dealer has no resolution for either issue. Please help.

I do not know when the problem originated but I bought this vehicle in April 2016 and gas could not flow into the tank freely without stopping. It had to trickle in slowly. Also, the check fuel cap came on during this issue but when tested, passed as if nothing was wrong. Too many other owners report the same issue on Explorer forums for this to be an isolated occurrence. It seems this is faulty design or workmanship and owners should be informed and the vehicles recalled.

Check engine light came on went to a auto repair shop and was given oem code p0442 (evaporative emission system). The scent of gas was present. I changed the fuel cap and issue still remains. Gas fuel tank vapor vent check valve is defective and must be replaced.
I have noticed that my fuel tank is emitting strong hydrocarbon vapors due to the tank being pressurized without a fuel cap. It does not come with a fuel cap. I can see the possibility of these vapors in a closed space possibly causing a fire. I am a retired firefighter and I have seen this numerous times with gas cans left in garages with gas hot water heaters.
The inertia switch is located in an area where a passenger's right foot can hit it's wiring and could cause it to become disconnected while driving. Causing the fuel to be shut off unexpectedly.
