While driving 40 mph right rear tire experienced a tread separation. Goodyear wrangler ap, aftermarket equipment, tire size 265/70r16, dot# unavailable. Goodyear was notified.

While driving 40 mph, the right rear tire tread separated. This was the replacement tire for the tire recall 01t016000.

2001 Explorer lost tire tread and blew out.

A cooper tire's [discoverer h/t-size p235/75 i5 m+s-dot uthl g5u4700 m5r] tread came off while driving hwy 95 in nevada. It did approx. $2500. 00 damage to my 98 Ford Explorer's left rear quarter panel. . Cooper originally said they were going to pay for damages. They blame underinflation and that is a big lie. Driving on highway and I started feeling the whole truck bounce, I went to the tire shop to find out. The tire was separating from the tread or spliting down the middle. This has happened twice and now a new one that was bought to replace one of the old ones is also beginning to separate.

While driving, the left front tire tread separated and blew out, causing extensive damage and injury to the consumer. Delta sierra radial, 2,387 miles on tire . Firestone recall replacement tire.

I currently drive a 2000 Ford Explorer 6 cyl. 2 wheel drive w/ goodyear wrangler rt/s tires. I was recently notified by midas of orland park after having my front brakes replaced that the front passenger tire has a belt that has shifted. My tires were replaced due to the recall of the firestone tires. At that time I had roughly 16,000 miles on the SUV. At the present time I have just under 40,000 miles on the SUV. I did not notice that the tire was bad mainly due to the fact that the Ford Explorer is a very rough ride. I do not go off roading with this vehicle nor do intentially hit large bumps or pot holes at a rapid speed. I am not only disappointed with the performance of the vehicle but also with the performance of the tires. Since the Explorer rides rough (a side to side wobbling motion) I can see were many accidents occured. The owner of the vehicle is unable to detect a default in the tire. The question I pose is, is Ford at fault because of there inadequate engineering and unstabe suspension or is goodyear at fault for the manufacturing of faulty tires?.

The left rear dunlop radial rover (lt235/75r15) tread separated from tire. Occurred on freeway at 70mph. There was a thumping noise just prior to incident. The tire did not lose pressure. No crash, no injuries but some damage to left 1/4 panel & trim on vehicle, 1996 Ford Explorer. All 4 tires replaced at same time & had approximately 40,000 miles on them when this occurred.

Was driving approximately 75mph when the tread separated from the tire. This caused the vehicle to be steered towards a hill and bounced off it. The vehicle then rolled over and landed onto the lane, on its roof. Firestone wilderness at; size p255 70r16. Ts.

While driving, the left rear tire experienced a blowout where the tread meets the sidewall. Consumer is seeking reimbursement for the purchase of new tires. Ford replaced the firestone tires with the general tires and didn't want to replace all four tires like she asked. Consumer was aware of the blowout problems with general tires. The vehicle developed severe vibration and immediately the left rear tire experienced complete tread separation. This caused damage to the left fender. The driver was able to maintain control and changed over to a spare tire to continue his trip. On another occasion, there was a thumping sound and the right rear tire developed a bulge and became unusable.

While traveling about 70mph on highway heard a loud noise , left rear tire tread separated, and consumer lost control of vehicle and went into an enbankment hittoing a tree.

00 t 005 000/tread separation: dealer (sunrise metro Ford; north hollywood, CA; phone # 818/980-9800) refused to honor manufacturer recall 00t005 concerning tire size p235/75r15, dot# h4bndfa478. Seeking help from NHTSA in this matter. Ak.

Michelin, 17, tire information is not available. While driving side front and rear tires tread separated. Vehicle almost flipped over. Please provide any further information.

Replacement tires p23575r15 105s are wearing unevenly, there's vibration for about 20 miles, depending on how fast vehicle is going. Front tires are wearing on the inside. The dealer who replaced the tires under the firestone recall indicated that the goodyear tires needed to be replaced because they could not be balanced. The consumer indicated that he never experienced any problem with the firestone tire and only had them replaced because they were under recall. The consumer requested that goodyear replace the faulty tire at no cost to him.

Tread separation ocurred @ 55mph while driving in rain approx 5pm. Tires have always been maintained at 35psi (checked 4 days prior to incident).

Tread tore off while traveling from California. Caused extensive damage to the side of the car. Have contacted Ford and the dealership. Which neither will take responsibility for damage. Am calling firestone next. (tiresize: 235/75r/15).

Today I noticed that two of the replacement tires were suffering from tread separation in the exact same manner as the failed firestones. Two back tires and passenger's front tire around the rim area are cracked. Consumer has a 1997, Ford, Explorer with original tires, size p235/75r15. Approximate mileage 42,000.
