38 Visibility problem of the 2009 Ford Explorer

Failure Date: 09/01/2011

I have found out that it is a common issue that Ford has a problem on several of its models that the sun visor mirror pops out when you try to use it as a shade. This is a dangerous situation for a driver while driving in heavy traffic to have this surprise distraction. My wife almost ran off the road when it happened. I currently have it taped up on drivers side and now it happened on the passenger side. Ford will not replace with any discount leaving the owner in a precarious situation. I guess once someone has a wreck maybe then Ford will do a recall.

39 Visibility problem of the 2012 Ford Explorer

Failure Date: 08/31/2011

This form does not allow entry of multiple dates. There is an issue with myfordtouch with this vehicle that is continual. Putting in one date is pointless. The climate (defroster, etc) system and the navigation system are part of this module, along with phone and audio features. This module locks continually and it is dangerous because you can't control the defroster or navigation system manually when this occurs. Repeated trips to the dealer have been fruitless and my wife was in dangerous situations several times in heavy traffic corridor conditions in northern new jersey. It is unconscionable that Ford is selling these vehicles for nearly $50,000 that are defective and they know they are defective.

Failure Date: 02/10/2011

I have a 2011 Ford Explorer and the sun visors do not allow me to make small adjustments to block the sun. When the visor is fully opened I cannot make 1/4 or 1/2 inch adjustments. I almost have to bring the visor half way down before it holds in place. Then it blocks my view of traffic. I've notified champion Ford katy and they didn't know what to do. I can make small adjustments when the visor is facing me. This leads me to believe that it is manufactured or installed backwards.

2004 Ford Explorers have a ton of problems, but one of the worst is that the sun visor hinges break causing the visor to dangle by it's electrical cord that powers the vanity mirror on it. Every morning I have a 7 mile drive headed south on a main thoroughfare and I can't see to change lanes because I have lost the use of my sun visor because Ford has not been held responsible for the cheap garbage they produced in 2004! the dangerous transmission problem is bad enough, but to have a visor dangling in your face while you are trying to drive is incredibly unsafe! and they are asking us for money for a bailout?! as far as I am concerned, they should be worried about getting bailed out of jail for stealing from people and then endangering their lives! please hold Ford accountable for the cheap garbage they sold to people for $30. 000 plus in 2004. What happens when I have a wreck because I can't see? are we to consider a sun visor a luxury item now? please help. Thank you lisa hayes.
