1 Loud Engine Noise problem of the 2007 Ford Explorer Sport Trac

Failure Date: 05/15/2012

I noticed while driving my 2007 Ford explorer sport trac that something was wrong with the engine. I thought it might be the transmission, because when accelerated it would become sluggish and make a loud roaring noise. The temperature light came on for about 8 seconds and the temperature gauge went to the top for about the same amount of time. Then the light went off and the gauge went back to normal. Then engine sound and speed appeared to be normal.

2 Loud Engine Noise problem of the 2001 Ford Explorer Sport Trac

The vehicle is loud on the inside even with the windows rolled up. The dealer says this is normal. While on extended trips there is a ringing sound heard in the ears at the end of the trip. Consumer feels this loud noise may damage the hearing and that it is too loud to hear outside traffic.
