Four problems related to fuel delivery have been reported for the 1997 Ford F-150. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The vehicle caught on fire while parked. Vehicle's fuel line had been fixed 2 months prior under recall 00v231000. Nlm.
Fuel line leak caused gasoline to spill onto the pavement; a definite safety hazard. Defect was covered by a safety recall, but I had previously taken vehicle in for inspection and given a clean bill of health. How can a part covered under a recall fail after I took it in? Ford is unwilling to cover any expenses except the repair costs, while I incurred addtional costs. The windshield washer quit working. Ford is unwilling to cover the cost of repairs.
Fuel line is rubbning against upper radiator hose and may cause a leakages which could lead to a possible engine compartment fire. Dealer / manufacturer were not notified at this time.
Fuel lines are spraying gas all over the exhaust system. Consumer is afraid it could cause a fire. Consumer will contact manufacturer to see if recall 00v231000/ manufacturer's recall 00s22 affects the vehicle.
