Three problems related to brakes failed have been reported for the 1998 Ford F-150. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Sudden and total brake failure on crowded freeway while going 70 mph towing a 2,000 lb trailer.
Brakes failed after continous stop and go traffic. No abs, no stopping 35900 miles.
Consumer has abs brakes. Brake failure occurred twice in rainy conditions in which the brake pedal went to floor of vehicle, causing vehicle not to stop. Also, vehicle has no control when brakes are applied. Problem is intermittent. Dealers cannot find a problem.
