1 Front Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 08/30/2007

The contact owns a 2000 Ford F-150. On August 30, 2007, while driving 50-55 mph, the contact rear ended the preceding vehicle. The vehicle he struck then rear ended another vehicle. He stated that none of the air bags deployed. The vehicle sustained damage to the bumper, which punctured the front driver side tire. A police report was filed. The current mileage was 123,000 and failure mileage was 122,222.

2 Front Air Bag problem

I rear ended another vehicle that was completely stopped. I was going about 35 to 40 mph. There is $8500 damage to my f150 truck. The damage is all in the front end. My air bag did not come out. No one can tell me why. Had the air bag came out that would have been enough damage to total the truck. Now I will be driving around in a truck that I don't know if the air bag will work or not.

3 Front Air Bag problem

My son was traveling about 45 mph and a car turned left in front of him. He hit the car in the drivers side and neither one of his frontal air bags deployed. The other driver was in a Honda civic and both his air bags deployed. My son had back, neck, arm, knee and leg injuries. The police and fire dept said the air bags should have deployed. The truck is being looked at now to determine if it can be fixed or totaled.

4 Front Air Bag problem

Consumer's vehicle was involved in a frontal collision with an SUV. At a impact of 40 mph neither frontal air bags deployed. Consumer was wearing seat belt at the time of the crash. Consumer refused medical treatment. The dealer was notified.

While driving 30 mph driver noticed that the check engine light and srs light appeared on the dashboard and remained on. The cause has not been determined at this time. Consumer will contact the dealer in the near future.

While driving made a left turn and heard a grinding noise from steering column. Without warning both driver's and passenger's front air bags deployed, causing significant injury to consumer and damage to vehicle.

Run head-on into the corner of a brick wall. Front-end of truck destroyed. Point of impact was driver-side-center. No airbag deployment.

I hit a ditch- the airbag only deployed one fourth of the way--the bag instantly caught fire. Had I been in a wreck, the airbag would not have saved my life. Had I been knocked unconscious, I would have burned alive. I feel that this problem should be looked inton as lives could be lost.

While traveling 40mph another vehicle turned corner and hit consumer's truck head on. Upon impact, neither air bag deployed. Driver and passenger suffered injuries. Driver sustained whiplash and left elbow problem; while, passenger sufferedd bruised ribs and sprained neck. Was hospitalized. Vehicle totaled.

While traveling at 30 mph vehicle ran over a small pot and both air bags inadvertently deployed. Dealer / manufacturer were notified, and unwilling to assist in this matter. Please feel free to provide any further details on this issue.

After the air bags deployed they caught on fire and had 6 to 8 inch flames coming out and up toward my face. The service manager contacted Ford and I was told there was no fault brcause they deployed and only my hand got burned when I put it out but the air bag and the fire were right in front of me , I was told the airbag catching on fire was an acceptable risk and not a defect. Acceptable by whose standard? being burnt is better than being dead but being alive and not burnt and not dead is what I expected.

Consumer was traveling about 50mph on highway and another vehicle stopped in front of her. She applied brakes and brakes locked up. She hit hit other vehicle in back. Dual airbags didn't deploy. She was injured. Dealership was aware of problem.

While pulling a trailer with a portable toilet on a dirt road at 10-15 mph with driver only both air bags deployed without cause. Dealer notified.

When truck was involved in a front end crash while traveling at 50 mph, there was no deployment of driver's or passenger's front air bags. Not sure if the truck was repairable. Please provide any further information.

Consumer was traveling about 50mph when another vehicle crossed in front, and consumer' s vehicle hit other vehicle on the driver's side door. Airbags didn't deploy. Consumer sustained chest/ upper shoulder, and knee injuries. Dealer said that airbags should have deployed. Dealer wa swilling to look at vehicle once it was repaired.

17 Front Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 07/20/2000

While traveling on a county road of 40-45 mph both air bags inadvertently deployed, causes minor bruises and abrasions to driver's forearm. Also, it shattered front windshield. Dealer / manufacturer notified.

18 Front Air Bag problem

Driver's air bag inadvertently deployed after shifting gear from reverse to drive. Deployed air bag caused burns to driver's shirt/chest. Also, half of air bag melted. Dealer/manufacturer will be contacted. Feel free to provide further details.
