After a visual inspection of the exterior of the vehicle, the contact became aware that the rear passenger’s side window had shattered. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 120,000.
