Tl the contact owns a 2012 Ford F-150. The contact stated that the engine stalled while driving over 70 mph. The contact heard a beep sound and the low oil pressure indicator illuminated when the failure occurred. The failure was experienced several times. The contact was able to move the vehicle onto the road shoulder, restart the engine, and drive to david wilson's villa Ford (2550 north tustin street, orange, CA 92865, (714)-509-5615). The dealer performed a diagnostic test that located failure code: 27 (fuel pump). The dealer stated that the fuel pump fuse was located in an area that caused the fuse to overheat. The dealer relocated the fuel pump fuse to another area that would not cause the fuel pump fuse to overheat. The manufacturer was not contacted. The vehicle was repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 94,000.
Tl the contact owns a 2012 Ford F-150. The contact received a recall notice for NHTSA campaign number: 19v075000 (power train). The vehicle was taken to william mizell Ford (located at 330 us-25, waynesboro, GA 30830, (706) 554-2114) where the recall repair was performed. As soon as the contact left the dealer, the transmission started to jump when downshifting, and the engine stalled without warning. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and test driven, but the failure could not be duplicated. The contact stated that he was not aware of the diagnostic testing, but was informed that he would need to drive the vehicle for a while for it to drive normally. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 91,000.
Under aceleration in heavy traffic in damp weather conditions, truck engine misfired and totally stalled-out causing major traffic jam. Has happened twice. Engine acted as if there was water in the fuel system. . . . Has misfired several times in damp or wet highway conditions.
Vehicle engine stalled driving at highway speed (70 mph). Engine went into safe mode. Similar problem occurred in the past (01/04/2013). Repair was performed under TSB 13-8-1 and previously under tsb12-10-19 (incident 01/04/2013). Corrective action both times was to install air deflector plate and replace catalytic converter for both occurrences. Ford says the problem only occurs on the 6 cylinder ecoboost engine after driving extended distances at prolonged highway speed. If I had been towing my RV trailer at either time, a serious accident could have occurred. My issue is that two TSB's have been issued by Ford for the same problem and the required fixes are identical but not sure if the vehicle is safe to drive anymore. I suggest Ford issue a recall for all ecoboost powered vehicles.
For the fourth time, my 2012 Ford f150 ecoboosted engine stalled or shuttered when hauling a load (trailer or heavy bed load) in a high humidity environment. I was pulling a u-haul trailer behind my truck and it was raining heavily. When I punched the accelerator to pass a slower vehicle, the engine stalled, sputtered, and nearly shut down. The "check engine" light came on for about a minute, then turned off once the engine had cleared what felt like condensation, and returned to normal operating mode. When I took the vehicle to the dealership to complain (for the 4th time), they told me that they were of aware of a design problem with the intercooler on 2011-2013 turbocharged vehicles, but since they could not verify the defect "code," Ford would not reimburse them for the service fix. This is clearly a safety and environmental issue as the service bulletin that Ford issued to correct the problem, requires replacement of the catalytic converter as well. Frustrated!.
The contact owns a 2012 Ford F-150. While driving at 75 mph, the engine stalled. The vehicle was taken to a dealer who diagnosed that the engine coil and the spark plugs needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 47,000.
Jan 24 2014 . Morning 6:00 am. My truck stalled on the elgin ohare expressway. I was cruising 65 mph. All of a sudden my trans or engine started to stall. I noticed the indicator on the dash go from 6 gear to 2nd. Gear, my speedometer dropped to 40 then 20 mph. I took my foot off the gas, slowly cruised. Then I put my foot back on the gas and drove to work at 45 mph. Called the Ford dealer made an appointment. Drove it there after work . Left it there for two days. They could not duplicate the incident. They reformatted my digital readout on the dashboard. Deleted the numbers indicating the gear my transmission was in. Therefore they did nothing but cover their[xxx]. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
While driving during a light rain, I started to pass a slower moving vehicle. When I accelerated to pass, the engine stalled to idle speed, causing me to have to abort the pass and pull back in behind the vehicle.
Engine stalled during hard acceleration. It had been sitting idling to warm up on a cold morning. When pulling onto the highway and accelerating to move into traffic, the engine stuttered and stalled. Had to pull over out of traffic.
My 2012 Ford f150 with eco-boost engine stalls and shakes upon fast acceleration. This happens mostly on rainy damp days but has happened during night driving also. Once this happens the trucks looses all power and I have had to pull off the highway, turn the engine off and restart. Have brought the truck to the dealer on three occasions with no results of correction. I know this is a common problem with this engine and need help to get Ford to correct problem or allow trade for trade on a new truck without the eco-boost engine.
During any hard acceleration such as merging into traffic, the truck stalls and goes into a mode of missing and engine stall. This has happened since I have owned the truck and only happens during a hard acceleration. I have had a catalytic converter replaced and the tech at the dealer told me it was know defect with the design of some kind of moisture pump. He said that Ford would only fix it when you got to the fourth converter replacement. This is a hazard during merging into traffic.
The contact owns a 2012 Ford f150. The contact stated that the air bags failed and whenever the front passenger seat was occupied, the air bag warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact also stated that the eco boost caused the engine to stall. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection where they stated that the seat rail needed to be replaced and that the eco boost was working extremely well. The dealer reprogrammed the computer but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified but provided no assistance. The failure mileage was 60.
Brand-new car - 2 days old. Trying to merge into traffic on I-81 at night during light rain. Engine stalled during acceleration attempt while merging from the on-ramp onto right lane of interstate, forcing 18-wheeler to brake to void crushing me. Engine rumbled with very little power getting to the wheels, and recovered to normal driving mode within about one minute. Scariest driving event in my decades of driving. Internet research indicates that this seems to be a common problem with the 3. 5l 6-cylinder ecoboost in humid weather, due to condensation in the intercooler being sucked into the engine, when accelerating sharply (such as merging into traffic, lane changes, etc. , I. E. , when full engine power is really needed). This will lead to fatalities eventually, if not fixed, but there seems to be no fix available from Ford.
The contact owns a 2012 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving 65 mph, the engine stalled without warning. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection and they stated that the catalytic converter and turbo charger needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure recurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 1,000.
In a light rain I tried to pass a truck but when I pushed on the gas the engine stalled. I was lucky to get back in my driving lane. This has happened 4 times, three while attempting a pass. I am now reluctant to attempt a pass.
While trying to accelerate from 50 up to the posted speed limit of 70 on interstate highway 10, the ecoboost engine in my truck stalled and started to misfire and shutter so severly causing my speed to decrease that I had to pull over to the side of the road to prevent from getting run over.
Traveling down the road. Got up to 55 to 60 mph lost power transmission stared jerking. Power caught back up and lunged forward. At times the engine stalls and catches back up. At times when you put it in gear it feels like the power train is bumping as though your getting stuck are hit from behind.
