1 Transmission Gear Slipping problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2020

Had recall fix completed approx. March 2019 by Ford dealership on 2013 F-150, but while in motion, transmission still slips gears often, as well as, delayed shifting of gear.

2 Transmission Gear Slipping problem

Failure Date: 12/16/2019

This has happened 5 times. When starting to take off in low speeds, 20-30 mph, the transmission will slip into neutral then into first slowing the truck down rapidly. Also, while travelling at highway speeds on cruise control, the vehicle will drop to 5th gear and the speedometer will drop to 0, the odometer and all display panel shows nothing, the cruise will not work, and the airbag light comes on.

3 Transmission Gear Slipping problem

Failure Date: 02/13/2019

My car has open recall since Feb 2019, no remedy still to get it fixed. I cant drive undafe car, Ford nit willing to buy it back. In March I was going down the hill and car was in front if me, I assume I would be able to stop if it had no issues but I think the transmission slipped and it went out of vontrol for a second.

4 Transmission Gear Slipping problem

Failure Date: 02/12/2019

Vehicle transmission slips while towing causing intermittent speed changes. Received a p0735 dtc code-gear 5 incorrect ratio.

5 Transmission Gear Slipping problem

Failure Date: 01/23/2019

We were driving at 60 mph and all of a sudden it down shifted into first gear expectantly locking up the rear tires and almost causing us to crash. Turned the truck off then back on and it took me to work. Later that day went to lunch and the transmission will slip and not go anywhere, turn it off then back on and it will go again not far, but will go and has no power the dash goes dead the speedometer goes to just ------------- this a huge wrench comes up on the dash. Took it to Ford and the say the trans is broken. I notice many other Fords are recalled for this . . Please expand this to the 13 year model as I cant afford 4,000$ when the recker came to get it, he drove it up onto the flatbed, he put it in park and proceeded to get out and it rolled down the recker (in park) please help, somebody's gonna die soon!!.

6 Transmission Gear Slipping problem

Failure Date: 05/14/2018

My truck downshifts without cause, sometimes to 1st gear, and on one occasion my wheels skidded (which was witnessed by my neighbor who was walking his dog and was startled by the skid). The speedometer goes to zero even while moving - I have video from my cell phone of this happening while going approximately 75 mph on the freeway. When this happens all other gauges go to dashes, including the mileage, mpg, etc. The transmission will slip into 2nd and 5th gears and will not go to any other gears. It sometimes remains in 3rd gear even at a dead stop. Turning the truck completely off sometimes "resets" things, but only temporarily. I have contacted a dealer about this and they looked up my VIN and told me there are no recalls for my truck year - even though the same types of things were occurring with 2011-12 f150's, and those are the subject of a recall. This is a safety issue: it happens without warning, sometimes on the freeway traveling at high speeds, sometimes while sitting at a stop light and it shifts to 3rd gear and hardly will get going. I called Ford customer service and explained everything and they said they would report to NHTSA but since it is out of warranty and there is no recall, I would most likely be responsible for the cost of repair. I pointed out a letter sent by NHTSA to Ford on January 18, 2018 addressing issues with my truck model and year, but that did not change anything in the representative's mind. I believe there needs to be consumer protection on this, both from a safety and financial aspect, by NHTSA. I have video of what happened on the freeway with the truck downshifting to 5th gear and remaining there, and when traffic slowed the truck downshifted to 2nd gear and would not shift to any other gear. I had to pull off the freeway with hazard lights flashing and turn off the truck and restart it to try to "reset" things.

7 Transmission Gear Slipping problem

Failure Date: 01/31/2018

A sudden downshift occurred while driving my 2013 Ford f150 on a four-lane highway at approximately 60 mph January 31,2018. It happened twice that day, and I immediately took it to my local Ford dealer. They said I shouldn't drive it until it was fixed. They still have it as of today, 2/7/2018. My description of what happened exactly matches the description in your documents published 12/25/2017(?). The description reads: ". . . Automatic transmission slipping unexpectedly into first gear, causing the vehicle to slow down suddenly without warning. ". "the unexpected downshift can also lock up the rear tires, or cause them to skid. " all of this happened including the rear wheels locking up, causing a momentary loss of control when it happened. This condition in 2011 and 2012 F-150s resulted in a recall. It is my understanding that you are considering a recall of 2013 F-150s based on more recent complaints. This is a frightening event and should be looked at.

8 Transmission Gear Slipping problem

Failure Date: 07/15/2016

Taking off from a start, vehicle acted like transmission was slipping, then slammed between 5th gear and 2nd gear repeatedly, and entered limp home mode. Separate instance: when passing another vehicle on two-lane road, full throttle, vehicle slammed into 2nd gear and entered limp home mode while I was in oncoming traffic, forcing me to abort the pass. Both times, in order to resolve the problem, I had to pull over, stop the vehicle, turn ignition off, and re-start the vehicle.
