Rear window on left side shattered on its own, believe the rear defrost controller is to be be the issue, or faulty glass.

37 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 11/29/2022

Tonight I was using my rear defrost on my F-150 and I noticed the glass looked weird. Got out and my worst fear was true the back glass had shattered. I have only owned this truck since April I'm the second owner.

38 Electrical System problem

Advanced warning track light comes on and turn sigal blinkers dont work and advanced trac dosnt work.

42 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 08/15/2022

Ok, the first problem would be that there was a fuse, apparently, that was engineered too small and eventually would burn up, making a bad connection, which would. All of a sudden shut your engine off. Mel, I was at highway speed, doing 6570 miles an hour, and all of a sudden my engine just cut right out. No power steering, no nothing. Just shut right off wouldn't exactly call that a safe situation. Poor engineering second issue would be the fact that you have obvious engineering problems with the fact that they're putting carbon based steel parts or studs in the exhaust manifold that are obviously just going to rot away and it costs thousands to have that problem taken care of. Obviously you don't put that type of steel in an aluminum product because it's not going to last. It's everyone. Everyone knows this. So that's about about it. It's enough to **** **** the pope. And I think you would have to say that it's a pretty it's a pretty important safety issue. It doesn't matter to me whether or not you know, it was within a warranty. Or not. It's an obvious engineering issue or they're just they just don't care. It's the cheapest way to go so they don't give a **** they know it won't happen under warranty. So why worry about it? and that's about it, man. Don't count on me. Everybody in afford again.

43 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 07/01/2022

The contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while her husband was driving 40 mph, the power steering failed with the "service advance trac" message displayed on the instrument panel. The contact also stated that the brake pedal and the turn signals failed to operate as needed. The contact's husband used excessive force to steer the vehicle back to the residence. The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle with an electrical failure that could only be repaired by an authorized Ford dealer. The vehicle was then towed to a dealer where he was given an estimate for a diagnostic test. The contact was also given an estimate for the repair. Upon investigation, the contact linked the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 14v316000 (steering). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed her that the VIN was not included in the recall. The contact was provided a case number. The vehicle was towed back to her residence and was not repaired. The failure mileage was 185,516.

44 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 02/26/2022

On two separate occasions while driving at normal operating speed (30-40 mph) the yellow wrench icon appeared (which I researched and found it deals with the throttle body) and I lost my speedometer, odometer, distance to empty, airbag light illuminated, and vehicle had little to no acceleration. I believe it might have something to do with the lead frame on the transmission.

45 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 02/17/2022

I bought this truck 2 and a half years ago and from day one it has been nothing but trouble. I was sold a lemon I have spend god knows how much on this truck and now it sits in the yard with a cracked turbo, electrical issues and transmission problems that I've been told has been a problem along time and I'd have to agree. Within the first 3 months of owning the truck it was in the shop 3 or 4 times. I had all kinds of warranty's added to my loan that I wasn't aware of and I've tried having the issue handled but Ford dealership will not tdo anything about it. I still over over 20,000 dollars on this truck I don't know if you can help but if you can I'd greatly appreciate it. I've had numerous sensors replaced, cv joints replaced, a arms replaced, wheel bearings, catalytic converters, ball joints, brake calipers, brake lines, struts, purge valve, engine mount, fuel pump twice, and I'm sure there's more alot of this was in the first not even year.

46 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 01/10/2022

2014 F-150 engine shuts off, abruptly while driving. Burned f27 fuel pump fuse in fuse box. Ford states VIN [xxx] is not covered by TSB 15-0137. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

47 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 01/08/2022

Truck turn over no start. Ford forum fuse 27 issue. My fuse 27 melted, replaced and truck started. TSB 15-137. Fuse 27 relocation kit. Forum stated dealer install is $400. This should be a recall.

48 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 12/26/2021

On 12-26-21 tried to start truck, it cranked but did not start. Called for a tow to the dealer. While waiting on tow I looked up fuse information to the fuel pump. After locating fuse that controls power to fuel pump relay I pulled fuse and it was burnt on one side of the prong. I called off tow and got home and did some research for this problem seems 09 thru 14 this particular 20amp fuse is being over heated. I also found a service bulletin 15-0137 on a Ford site, and its stating that a ( fuel pump fuse relocation kit ) in which I have to pay $270 for. I believe this is fire hazard and a safety because if this fuse is blown while driving it will shut down the vehicle. I have watched several video's on this issue and believe it should be recalled do to the nature of the problem. There was also no warning nor any warning lamp on the dash to show an issue. Made an apointment to the Ford dealer for 12-27-2021 to have this relocation kit put on before there is a fire from this overheating of this fuse in the fuse compartment.

49 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 11/20/2021

Back power and heated glass shattering as I turned on rear defrost with child in the back seat!!.

50 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 10/28/2021

Driving down the interstate at around 70 mph all of the lights went out and the veh shut down after about a min or so I started the veh with out any problem. The battery light went on I drove about tem more miles. I shut the veh off got gas pulled out of the gas station and the lights went out and the engine shut off. I pulled over restarted the engine the battery light was still on but it started with out any problem and drove home.

51 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 09/13/2021

I was driving at 45 mph and suddenly, the truck downshifted into low gear and slowed immediately down to about 5 mph. A vehicle following me nearly rear ended me. On more occasions, trying to get off the highway, the trucks motor overreved, then slammed into gear as if it was trying to shift, but couldn’t. I immediately called Ford corporate and was told to take it to a dealership. I did this and was told it would be 6 weeks before they can get me in the shop, and that was if that part could be found. I have seen a recall for 2011-2013 f150’s, but Ford told me that 2014 was not included. This is very dangerous for anyone to have this happen to, luckily, I have many years of experience driving combination vehicles. If I had been towing my 36’ camper or if this happened to an inexperienced driver, it could have been disastrous. I have since taken it to a small, experienced transmission shop and was told that this is very, very common. Even on 2014 and up. Any 6r80 transmission in a Ford. Please take a look at this and update these model years for everyone’s safety.

52 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 06/29/2021

Vehicle was on & operating for 20 minutes and after traveling 1-2 miles all of the sudden smoke came from engine compartment. Pulled over immediately, and turned vehicle off when a full fledged fire began in the engine block on passenger side. Ran into gas station and used a fire extinguisher to get fire under control. 911/fire dept was contacted and hosed down hood, engine compartment. Analysis showed the source of the fire was from the passenger side hood accent light (factory installed) short circuited and was the origin of the fire.

53 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 04/18/2021

First incident happened yesterday 4/17/21 when driving approximately 25 miles am hour the vehicle would not shift up from first gear, or it into neutral and then back to drive and it worked like normal. Today 4/18/21 I've had two incidents, the first while driving 45 mph the vehicle dropped down to 2nd gear, rapidly slowing. I showed to first gear, put into neutral and back to drive and everything was fine. While driving on the highway at approximately 65-70 mph my truck suddenly downshifted from 6th to 2nd gear, decelerating extremely quickly. I was able to pull over to an exit and put the vehicle into neutral and then back into drive and the transmission resumed like normal. This is extremely concerning that this will happen when driving at highway speeds and the fact this vehicle is my daily driver and I usually have my kids in the vehicle with me. Im very concerned about the safety of driving now especially after learning this exact issue was recalled on the vehicles a year before mine with three same 6 speed transmission, but not on my year.

54 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 03/15/2021

I was pulling a empty trailer and it started down shifting at 35-45 mph I had to put it in neutral while driving then back to drive to gear up it did it around 75 mph the first time and wi5h a trailer had to come to a haunting stop on a highway it's in the past hour done it 5 times . . . . This is not safe!.

55 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 02/21/2021

I was on the highway heading out of town going 70 mph, the speedometer went to zero and the rpm rev up to 4000rpm and felt like a downshift , I had a car and semi passing me. It was a scary moment for. I took it to a well known mechanic and ran a test and told me the lead frame was bad. He informed me that my truck was not under recall because my truck was not at the plant where the lead frame was faulty.

56 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 02/05/2021

There's a known problem with fuse #27 overheating and causing the fuel pump to stop working. Do a google search. It affects many years prior to 2014. This is serious as it can leave people stranded. It has not thrown a computer code from 2014 f15. Simply replacing the fuse did allow starting but it will happen again. There's a fuse relocation kit (el3z-14293a) available but Ford should be responsible for performing this repair. The fuse does'nt blow out but the fuse socket overheats for some reason.

57 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 01/22/2021

Backup camera only works intermittently. Most of the time the display just says "rear camera unavailable," sometimes just a blue screen, and occasionally will display the image briefly, then go bluescreen/camera unavailable. Turning ignition off, then restarting may reset camera and briefly display the image, then bluescreen/unavailable again.

58 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 01/15/2021

While sitting in my truck waiting for the windows to finnish defrosting, I heard a loud bang. I looked behind me and saw that the back window had shattered. I immediately got out to investigate as it sounded like a gun shot! I live on a military base and violence of this kind is very unlikely. I looked around to see that there was no one around that could have hit or thrown something at my truck. I called the insurance agent and had an appt set for window replacement. When the tech arrived I asked him if he had seen anything like this before, a window just breaking on its own. He said that he sees a fair number of 2014 f150s with this problem, and even thought there was a recall for such. He said the heating element in the rear defrost shorts out and breaks the window. When I called Ford they said there was no recall and they have never heard of such a problem. A simple search on the internet shows a plethra of simular complaints not just on 2014 models, but 2015 and 2016 as well. This is dangerous! I could have been driving and had a serious accident as a result of this. Worse even would be if my daughter was sitting back there. I am tired of the money hungry corporations not doing their ethical and moral job of keeping their customers safe, and this will not change unless we hold them accountable. Thank you for the service you provide to americans. I hope to see a recall about this issue.

59 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 12/29/2020

Sporadically, over the last 6 months (but with more frequency in recent months), at various speeds or with no other common denominator, the truck loses power to the transmission, the speedometer drops to zero, and the wrench light comes on. The only way to keep the truck functioning is to pull over, turn the vehicle off, and restart it. Most times, this will fix the issue. It's obviously been dangerous in multiple instances. While the truck is a 6-speed, 2014 Ford F-150, it was built in November of 2013. Regardless of this, my VIN is not part of recall 19v433000 or 19v075000, despite the same issue as the recalls. These additional manufacture dates should be included. I was alarmed to see the numerous claims with the same issue, outside of the recall. Ford needs to make additional considerations to that effect. This is our 5th Ford between my wife and I, of which 4 were trucks. Considering Ford's negligent flaw hasn't been considered for any recall, despite overwhelming evidence from its owners, it will definitely be the last Ford purchased by us, our extended family, and any of our business and personal associates to whom we will pass along this concern. It's extremely disappointing.

60 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 11/24/2020

#27 fuse. 20amp micro fuse. Melted and failed. Engine cranks but will not turn over. This is a known issue among f150 owners. This could be a potential safety and fire hazard as the fuse is being overheated and fails. Scorch marks and melting are noted on the fuse. Vehicle was parked. Fire could result.

61 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 10/30/2020

Tl the contact owns a 2014 Ford F-150. The contact stated that upon dropping his child off at school, the contact heard a loud, abnormal popping sound. Upon investigation, the contact became aware that the rear driver's side glass had shattered into several pieces. The contact drove the vehicle back to his residence. The contact stated that the heating system in the rear defroster overheated which caused the glass to shatter. The vehicle was taken to mel hambelton Ford (11771 w kellogg dr, wichita, KS 67209) and the contact was informed that the VIN was not under recall. The contact was provided an estimate for the repair of the glass. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 119,000.

62 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 10/22/2020

Steering wheel doesn't lock; music continue to play with key out and doors open; push volume button on steering wheel radio change station.

63 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 07/15/2020

The rear power sliding defrosting window was replaced under warranty about 2 years ago when the rear defroster and heated mirrors stopped working and it now stopped working again and is clearly a defective design as there are numerous complaints for the same condition and even some where the window shatters from overheating. It first happened around 23,000 miles and now again at 54,000 miles.

64 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 07/08/2020

My truck would randomly hesitate during the acceleration phase. Eventually it led to me being stranded due to the inability of the vehicle to start. Trucked was towed to the dealership and I was informed that this was a reoccurring design problem in the electrical system that Ford has been aware of for quite sometime. I urge your agency to strongly consider a recall for numerous reasons. 1. It's a design flaw 2. While I wasn't an issue for me normal acceleration can be just as important as normal braking in certain situations due to safety considerations. (merging, turning left across traffic, etc. ) 3. It wasn't an issue for me but my service invoice indicated a slight burn on the fuse terminal. Obviously a possible fire hazard due to poor design. Thank you for upon consideration.

65 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 06/22/2020

Problem: crank no start. No check engine light. Turns out to be the fuse for the fuel pump. Heats up on one side and looks to be melting. Never pops the fuse. Allows the truck to start sometimes and when you least to expect it just keeps cranking with no start. Afraid it may cause a fire!.

66 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 06/18/2020

While driving at hiway speed 65 to 75 the truck just shuts down ,stops running this is the 4th time in 5 years this has happened to us almost had a major rear end mishap as a simi was on us going up a bridge in heavy traffic,a wrench showed up on dash display truck started but died 3 more times at road speed in 20 miles.

67 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 06/10/2020

Due to the fuse box being is located above the radiator, it is exposed to direct heat, and caused the fuel pump relay fuse to completely melt. This caused my truck to completely die twice while on the highway and almost caused an accident. This is extremely unsafe, and Ford should recall this issue since it is a very common issue that drivers are having. A simple fuse box relocation would be an easy solution.

68 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 05/10/2020

I purchased this vehicle February 2020 from snyder motors-bozeman, and drove it from approximately 107k to 110k miles with no issues. This vehicle first performed this major safety issue on approximately may 10th, 2020. I was attempting to pass a vehicle on the two-lane montana highway from norris, mt to four corners, mt. I quickly accelerated from 65mph to 80mph and passed them in the left lane during a passable stretch. Just as I had almost finished passing, I noticed the light that indicates my mode of drive (park, neutral, reverse, etc. ) flicker very quickly and erratically between the different drive modes. When the light first hit the reverse position, it violently shook the vehicle with me and my two good friends within. I then lost all control of the vehicle's power as if it had shifted itself into neutral. I was then forced to very quickly brake and get back into my lane as I had no power and another vehicle came around a turn in the passing lane and approached towards us. I had to shut the vehicle off briefly to regain control, and then had to get on the highway. The truck then performed the issue again while going up a steep hill despite slowing to 60mph. I have since had the vehicle perform the issue a myriad of times, usually due to hills going 30-40 mph since I've had to avoid highways. Each time, I am sincerely scared for my life and well being. I took it into bozeman Ford from 6/22/20 to 6/29/20 after first taking the vehicle to foster's mastertech and having them replicate the issue and agree it is a safety concern. I was able to replicate the issue with a bozeman Ford tech and he also agreed that it was a scary experience and stated this to a service rep. Ford replaced the molded lead frame, but to no avail as the truck performed the issue again that day. It is now back with bozeman Ford, attached are my documents from the initial service.

69 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 04/27/2020

Rear defroster failure; also impacts heated outside mirrors, rendering them inoperable. According to dealer, this is a fairly common failure and only fix is to replace the rear window (~$1200. 00).

70 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 04/02/2020

I recently financed a truck and the seller did not disclose that it was a flood damage vehicle. I did auto check and found out there was also recalls on the truck when he sold it to me. That he didn't fix recalls are for the seatbelts n the bolts for the seabelts. The truck also is leaking oil. He also tempered with the engine lights because it's leaking oil but no lights turned on. I want a full refund of every dollar I have given him. He also lied on the odometer .
