Exiting from interstate speed, coming to a complete stop at light, truck shakes and stalls. Able to restart. No check engine light ever. Had left vehicle at dealer for 3-4 days with no issue found. Fuel tank level weather full or 1/4 full still occurs.
Tl the contact owns a 2016 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving 40 mph, the vehicle downshifted to first gear with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was restarted and drove as designed. The vehicle was taken to mac haik Ford (10333 katy fwy, houston, TX 77024, (713) 932-5000) where it was diagnosed that the lead frame needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted however, no further assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 73,000.
When driving at highway speeds the vehicle feels like the timing is off. Hesitates as you roll at 50 or 60mph. Then when you exit freeway and are stopped at light the idle becomes rough and drops below 500rpm. Several times the engine stopped running while waiting for the light to turn green. The previous owner noticed it as well and she took it to the dealership to get checked. Dealer said there is no check engine light and no error code so can't fix it. I took it to another Ford dealer after purchase and they could not duplicate the issue even though I told them what to look for. Ford f150 owners board has list of many people with same issue with the 2014-2016 era trucks. Fixes from their post show replacement of 2 new cam phasers and new vct solenoids repairs the issue. Vct had locked up and allowed the cam to jump by two teeth. So vct failure was causing the timing to be off which is the effect I am experiencing at highway speeds and the stalling upon stopping at off ramp light is because the timing is off. Ford will not repair unless cel is on however. I told service team member my concern about taking a left turn across traffic and having the engine stall mid lane and getting t-boned.

Additionally, the failure recurred while stopped at a traffic light with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The mechanic retrieved fault code: p0012 (intake (a) camshaft position timing -over- retarded (bank 1). The vehicle was not repaired. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer were contacted or informed of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 59,000. Ah.
My 2016 f150 5. 0 supercrewhas started to regularly stall when idling in park or when braking or coasting when coming to a intersection. I can immediately restart upon putting in park or neutral. Sometimes a check engine light comes on. Upon googling the problem it seems pretty common with no answers of certainty.
While using my vehicle under normal conditions the check engine light came on so I had vehicle checked at autozone and o'reily's which showed 2 different codes and took it to machaik dealership. Turns out I had to have both cylinder heads replace, crankshaft bolt replaced as well as a few other items. I was told it was an issue that Ford was aware of and didn't notify me of it when I bout the vehicle. They covered the cost due to the vehicle being under warranty which was about $5,000. $ months later I got my vehicle back and about 30 miles of driving 55mph it started blowing a thick cloud of white smoke with some grey smoke. I take the vehicle home and let it sit for 28 days before I have to use it and after about 23 miles it started smoking again. I take it to the same dealership again and I told them about the smoking issue, rough idle and the exhaust smells like gas which is not normal. I showed them a video of the issue which contains my mileage at the time and my license plate which clearly shows my vehicle so they cannot say it wasn't my vehicle. Waiting for the results of their findings and plan to update the complaint. I will not upload the video at this time due to it containing my license plate, don't know how to upload it from phone and I don't know how to edit that out. If it is necessary to update this complaint I will upload the video as proof as well as work order from previous and current work. My mileage will not be 100% accurate but it will be within 400 miles plus or minus.
The vehicle shut down while driving. Had no throttle. Pulled off road vehicle was idling erratically still no throttle multiple warning lights. Shut vehicle off, restarted, all trouble lights were off except check engine light. Vehicle ran ok for a while. This happened 7 more times within 150 miles. This is very dangerous, if I had been in traffic I would not been able to get off the road. Got the vehicle to Ford. They cleared all the codes and said they could not find the problem. They wanted me to pick up my vehicle, I refused. I researched the issue and found many people with the same problem. The fix was the throttle body. I passed this info on to the Ford dealer. They replaced my throttle body, problem fixed. I was lucky, I had 150 miles left on my warranty, most others didn't.
The truck has had issues with the hillassist failure, then check engine light then wrench light causing the truck to go from 45 mph to 2mph without notice. The throttle bottle also went out on this truck causing the truck to go from 45 mph to 2 mph in traffic, this is the Ford wrench light. On two seperate occasions, when starting the truck and releasing the parking brake, a parking brake malfunction light flashes, then when trying to move the truck into gear it will move from park to drive to reverse, but will not move. Please contact me ASAP. I have a detailed list of dates and occurances along with all email conversations with Ford. Ford soes not believe this is a problem and seems to ignore the safety concerns.
Loss of throttle response while driving around 25 mph, check engine light came on and the engine was idling rough. Was able to drift over to the side of the road. Turned engine off then on with no change, turned off then on again and throttle worked normally but check engine light stayed on. Drove right to the dealer who determined it was a bad throttle body.
While traveling on the interstate level terrain and a stationary cruise at 70 mph, the wrench icon and check engine light appeared with a message to "see manual" at the same time the engine became unresponsive to accelerator pedal input. The limp home mode was not working and we could not get the truck moving again after stopped. I was able to shut the ignition off for about 2 min while I looked up the warning lights in the manual (only stated to see dealer immeadiatly) afterwards we were able to start and drive the truck to the next exit and home approximately 4 miles. This was a very dangerous encounter and were almost hit by 2 semi trucks while trying to coast over to the shoulder. We have owned the vehicle since new and had 8,827 miles at the time of the shut down.
While driving the vehicle 157 miles from home I had the check engine light came on and vehicle had no throttle response. The vehicle would only move about 3-5 miles per hour. Very dangerous was crossing a large busy intersection almost got hit but another vehicle.
