1 Dashboard Failed problem of the 2018 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 09/11/2019

Started to pull through a residential intersection after stopping at a stop sign. The truck completely shut off after moving about 5 feet pulling into the intersection. A message popped up on the dash screen about auto startstop and that I needed to put the truck in park and restart it. This is not something that can be done while the vehicle is in motion. I slowly rolled to the side of the street, put it in park and restarted. There were no more issues on the remaining 25 mile drive. The autostop feature had been disabled via the dash switch before ever leaving home. The switch was still illuminated amber showing that autostop had in fact been turned off manually before it happened on its own, while under power. With the engine not running, the power steering is also disabled. After a bit of investigation, I have found via online truck dedicated forums that I am not alone and this has happened to numerous people with f150's since 2015. The picture that I am attaching is not my own, but is the same message that was generated to me this morning. This picture is from another individual that this has also happened to and reported in the above mentioned forums. Autostop initiation of its own accord while underway could have dire consequences if pulling into oncoming traffic, through a busy intersection or simply driving down the road.

3 Dashboard Failed problem of the 2017 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 09/24/2018

On 9-24-18 my instrument cluster went out, no gauges worked including wipers, blinkers, defroster. Had truck towed to the dealer and they did a master reset. Got the truck back a little over a week later. 7 days later the same thing happened all the gauges along with wipers, blinkers and defroster. The radio was out both times but that was not the safety issue. This time the dealer replaced a module. Got the truck back on 10-12-18 and it is working at this time. Both times the truck was stationary. 1st time was in my garage and the 2nd time was in the parking lot of the fire department that I run with. .

6 Dashboard Failed problem of the 2014 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 11/02/2014

Warning lights came on dash about stability or traction control, no 4x4 lights were showing even though I had it in four wheel drive. Within seconds I could not control my truck in the snow and the steering would not allow me to change my course of direction. This truck acted like it was not in four wheel drive. My truck slammed/slid sideways into a curb on the rotary by my home causing $2129. 19 damages to tires and rims and front end parts. After I hit the curb the 4x4 light was showing as was the traction control lights and I was able to steer my truck and keeping it from dropping over an embankment. My speed was 15 miles per hour as I came towards the rotary. I contacted Ford and received a call back 11/6/14 stating that I needed to go through my insurance and that my insurance company was welcome to subrogate this with Ford legal counsel. The woman that called would not answer any question about what this all meant just that I needed to deal with my insurance company over and over.

7 Dashboard Failed problem of the 2006 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 06/21/2012

I was driving on the highway when all of my gauges went dead including the speedometer, a couple of minutes later they came back on and when they did the airbag warning light started blinking rapidly. A few moments later the gauges went dead again, when they came back on the second time the airbag warning light started blinking rapidly and erratically. Since that time my gauges have failed 3 more times with the same behavior from the airbag warning light. I did some research online and found that even though Ford has not recalled this problem it has been experienced by hundreds of 2006 Ford f150 owners.
