Horn Assembly Problems of Ford F-150 - part 2

Going down the road while it was raining windshield wipers would not work. Then, all at once windshield wipers came on by themselves. Also, while standing outside of the truck horn started to blow on its on. Then, while on the road, horn once again started to blow on its own.

Vehicle been experiencing intermittent problem wth cruise control engaging without turning it on. Also, horn would intermittently operate. Dealer/manufacturer notified, and informed consumer that vehicle was not under any recall concerning speed control . Can NHTSA provide any additional information.

The horn is too hard to activate. When you must need it in an emergency- most times I cant get it to work . . . . The area you havce to push is too small and must be pushed too hard- its just too hard to activate when you need to.

While driving on the interstate in center lane and overtaking another vehicle in front, consumer decided to switch lanes. Went to blow the horn, and there was no horn. Contacted the dealer.

Vehicle was parked and caught on fire. There was a big hole in the dash and the fire department put water into the dash to stop the fire. The whole inside was burned up and damaged from the fire. The horn relays and horn pads were replaced three times.

Horn is very hard to press. Yh.

Due to placement of driver airbag the horn buttons are difficult to use when trying to warn other drivers that suddenly veer into my lane. Several coworker that drive similar vehicles have had the same problem. The horn buttons are at 3 oclock and 9 oclock, their size is about 1 inch by 5/8 inch. With the size and placement of the horn buttons in a hurry most times the airbag is hit rather than the horn.

Consumer complained about an electrical system problem. Inside lights would not go out once the door was closed. Alarm system did not work, and side reflector lights did not come on. The door ajar light stayed on. Door ajar light stayed on for about 20 to 25 minutes before they go off. Doors won't lock when they're supposed to. Dealer said that they can't locate the problem with inside lights. However, dealer made repair on horn and replaced fuse for alarm horn.
