The engine continues to shoot out the spark plugs. This is continued to happen with different cylinders. I’ve had it at the mechanic most of the time I’ve owned it.

2 Ignition Coil Spark Plugs problem of the 2004 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 05/02/2024

The contact owns a 2004 Ford F-150. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle made an abnormal popping sound and then lost motive power. The contact was able to drive to the residence. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who determined that the spark plug had blown out of the cylinder and determined that the spark plug needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and advised the contact to file a complaint with the NHTSA hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 364,000. The VIN was unavailable.

3 Ignition Coil Spark Plugs problem of the 2016 Ford F-150

Failure Date: 07/17/2023

The contact owns a 2016 Ford F-150. The contact stated that on two occasions while driving approximately 70 mph and depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle began to lunge forward. Additionally, the check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the spark plugs needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 34,302.
