The digital odometer blanks out, or scrambles its display. The dealers service advisor says the soldered connections are "bad". The entire instrument cluster must be replaced. @ cost $600. 00. Further inquiries find that hundreds of other F-150 owners have the same defect. Very distracting in traffic when it blanks out!.
There is a short in the electrical system that allows the radio and the instrument panel light to come on by itself at separate times when the vehicle is turned off. The dealership is unable to identify the cause of the electrical short.
