Also, all electric devices on steering wheel failed to operate. Display on dash flashed many different system failures. Unable to turn off key until steering wheel broke loose. On the morning of oct 24, 2017 all worked okay but took truck to dealer.

Cpsc#i270250a. 2011 Ford F-150 ecoboost. Consumer stated his truck has been popping and clucking in the steering. He also has taken it to the dealership on several occasions. The dealer informed the consumer the noise was a normal characteristic for the epas rack and they refused to address the issue. The consumer stated the steering felt loose when the popping occurred.
Steering has a loose feeling. It feels like the truck is going to fall apart and the wheels are loose. Ford knows about the problem, but hasn't fixed it. My truck is on it's 3rd steering gear and all of which had this problem. The feeling can be felt at low speeds (5-10mph) to high way speeds (55-70mph).
