Very bad tread wear on front outside edge. Looked like alignment problem since tires still have 80% of tread. Tech at alignment shop said the alignment was ok and showed me where the tread had started to separate from the casing. Tech advised to replace tires very soon. Tire size not on recall list so it looks like I am stuck with replacing a bum set of tires.

During vehicle inspection I found that the rubber were peeling from the walls of my front tires. The dealership have replaced them with a 30% prorated cost.
Michelin tires cracking in the treads on all tires. Michelin not following their published warranty in pro-rating for adjustment. Tires with 58 to 67% tread left and michelin reluctantly agreed to a 35% adjustment. Dealer and customer were told "if the crack cannot be spread open and see lining, it is a cosmetic crack".
While driving the truck began vibrating, pulled over to see if the tires were the issue. Nothing appeared to be wrong, tire pressure was fine and no weights had fallen off. At times the vibration was violent, shaking the whole truck. Drove another 10 miles without any issues and the vibration would start again, looked on line and there were several posts identifying the same problem with other Ford trucks.

My factory tires, bf goodrich long trail t/a, on my Ford F-150 king ranch bought new in 2006 lasted only 21,428 miles. They gave me a lousy $236. And it cost me $708. To replace all 4. Now, 18,270 miles later there are less the 4/32 left on the tread. On a recent oil change, a dealer would not rotate my tires because of the ware. Now I am being told - sorry no warranty left! - I am livid! can anything be done?.

I purchase a new 2010 Ford F-150xlt in April, 2010. The truck came with goodyear wrangler sra tires. Two of the tires lost a great deal of tread between 16500 and 18000 miles, necessitating all four tires be replaced. I contacted my Ford dealer and goodyear and the tires have been replaced. I was told the goodyear wrangler sra tires are backordered and had to purchase goodyear wrangler adventure all season tires. The technicians at the Ford dealership advised me they have seen excessive wear on many other of the wrangler sra tires. I received a prorated allowance for the new tires; but do tires only last 18000 miles now. My previous F-150 tires had over 60000 miles on them and had more tread than my 2010 F-150. There has obviously been many problems with this tire and I do not feel I should have had to pay anything for the replacement tires.
Hankook dynapro as p255/65sr17 separated at approx. 10,000 miles. Potential for accident since it was a steering tire. Purchased at pepboys store # 661 tucson, az.

The contact stated that upon inspection, it was found that all four tires were dry rotten. The vehicle was taken to a private mechanic where the failure was confirmed. The tires were not replaced. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileages were 15,000 for both the vehicle and the tire.
I am so mad. I thought I was dealing with a great store. Not. First I find out that the tires that they sold be are rated for cars, not full size trucks. Im driving on the interstate and it raining. Im hydroplaning all over the place. I take it to the shop and he tells me that we were lucky that we were not killed. I had a defective tires. And I need to got ASAP and have them replaced. Im on my way now to go and deal with them. I counted on them to keep my family safe. Just because I am a women they sold me something that I should not have had in the first place.
I own a 2008 Ford F-150 lariat which is lightly used and never carries a load. The tires on my truck dry rotted by 5/19/11 and had to be replaced. Mileage was 18369, cost to me was $362. 00. Now the new tires have done the same thing. I do not haul cargo or drive at excessive speeds. My current mileage is 31944 which means this set lasted just over two years and 13575 miles. I am concerned about the issue of a blowout and losing control of the truck on the highway due to the rollovers with pickup trucks. I just watched an episode of motorweek that stressed the importance of keeping the steel belts out of the elements or they will fail badly and these tires are cracked in the tread where there is little to keep the steel covered. I don't know if there is a problem with this tire, but I'm not getting any service life out of a very expensive tire. It seems bf goodrich and Ford think this is my problem, goodrich blames ozone for the problem, nobody will take responsibility. I now own a truck that I cannot in good conscience ride my grandchildren in. Thank you michael ohanley.

I have a 2010 Ford F-150. It has pirelli tires on it. When I took it in to get inspected they found all four of the the tires were getting weather checked. The truck is used to haul a atv and sometimes a trailer. I do not believe the tires are safe. I took it back to the Ford dealer where I bought it and they said they would see what they could do and call me back. I never heard back from them for a few weeks so I called them back. They said they would check into it and call me back. This went on for about 4 months never calling me back when I called them. After I e-mailed Ford the sevice manager called me back and asked me to bring the truck in. I did and he looked at the tires and said he could not do anything. I e-mailed Ford again and they said they would not do anything because the truck had more than 12'000 miles on it. The truck had 14. 000 miles. There warranty book says they will pro-rate the tires after 12,000 miles. I do not understand how they can not go by the warranty. I think something needs to be done about these tires being recalled. I understand this is a common problem with these tires and nobody is backing them up. Weather checked tires on trucks that are carring extra weight does not seem to me to be good for anybody on the road. The tires are pirelli scorpion atr.
This is the second cooper discoverer h/t DE-treading incident in several months. In both cases, tire pressures were inflated per specification prior to an extended trip and failed after less than 200 miles of sustained highway driving. All tires were inspected prior to the trip and no road hazards were cause of the tires DE-treading. The first incident in October on highway 10 west was reported to nthsb. This second incident occurred on February 9, 2012 while traveling at a speed of 70 mph on highway 10 east, approximately 130 miles from lake havasu city, arizona. On both occasions, the tires held pressure while the treads sheared from the tire. Both defective tires maintained the correct pressure after testing. It is also noted that the vehicle has never towed a trailer. The vehicle sustained severe damage in both incidents, with the first occurrence forcing the truck off the roadway and into a near fatal situation.
The contact owns a 2005 Ford F-150 equipped with cooper discoverer h/t tires, size 245/65r17, dot number: up15c56. The contact was driving 55 mph when the front passenger side tire experienced tread separation, causing it to shred to pieces. The contact merged to the shoulder where he changed the tire and installed the spare. The front fender of the vehicle was damaged as a result of the tire failure. The contact stated that there were no road hazards present that could have contributed to the failure. The vehicle was taken for routine maintenance prior to the failure and there were no failures found with the tires, which were inspected. The dealer was notified of the failure who filed a claim with the manufacturer on behalf of the contact. The manufacturer of the tire was notified who advised that they would contact him at a later date. The tire failure mileage was 8,000. The vehicle failure mileage was 24,000.
Vehicle had factory original full size spare general ameri550 as with less than 400 total miles driven had tread separation, virtually all the tread came off and tire stayed inflated while driving at highway speeds. This tire had never been driven on previously and was in as new condition when I installed it just two weeks ago rim and all when I had a flat in my regular tire. After recovering the tread I found that the rubber appeared more brittle and had suffered severe wear in less than 400 miles, there were bits and pieces of rubber missing from the tread from driving on my gravel road, the other tires of different brand remain in great shape after thousands of miles. I could have lost control easily. Vehicle is a 98 f150 2wd.
Driving on I-95 in florida, when I experienced a violent shaking of the truck. The truck swerved side to side almost resulting in a crash. I was able to control the truck and bring it to the side of the road. I discovered that my driver side rear tire had the tread separated from the tire. It was cooper tire discoverer h/t 265/70r17. So far, cooper took my information and is going to send paperwork on the damage to the truck.
